  • If you're trying to figure out how to make an offset smoker fire box by putting together 2 round ends of propane tanks, this video is for you!
Many people have been searching and asking me for this video for a long time now and I finally had time to put it together!
In this method you'll need to pay close attention to detail for getting everything set up completely in alignment.
I go into a lot of detail about that in the first 8 minutes of the video.
Then you'll need to mark out the top half of the cut and and remove some of the material.
Then you can move on to the bottom and slowly begin fitting up the bottom cut.
If you follow the steps in this video you'll be well on your way to building your dream smoker just like me!

My build is much smaller than yours, but it will have the same basic construction and I’ve been scratching my head on how to make those two ends meet. Thanks for providing such a great answer!

I prefer square for one simple fact. Its easier. Both for insulated and non insulated boxes. There are more reasons, but that's the most important one. Round looks good for sure, but it doesn't bring anything extra to the table except work. However, that cooker needed a round firebox.

Round firebox with flat end caps is just as easy as square. Fitting the spherical end cap to spherical end cap is where the cuss words fly 😂

What is better a round fire box or a square fire box? In your professional opinion 😁

so truthfully either one works the same. only real difference is looks and cost. if you have the round option available use it, etc

Round is cheaper as far as material goes. If you cut the spherical end off the firebox and weld a flat plate its much easier to fit maybe just as easy as square in my opinion. Square with a v bottom works well also.
