I've been running the Gen 1 ClearWater 50 for some time now and it's been terrific, chunky harvests every 5 days or so. I did have to 3D print some light shades so it's nice that they are included now. I also like the new method for securing the grow bed. Gen 1 relies on these little, easily broken plastic hooks. I'll probably mod my Gen 1 to mimic that. Tempted to get the new version because it has been significantly improved/streamlined, I really like the new design. Nevertheless, my Gen 1 got no issues other than the little plastic hooks so I'm not gonna do it. (famous last words)
Love Clearwater, but why are these way more pricey??? NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS for the large model? That’s ridiculous and really locks out some customers from buying.
Without sending it overseas to China to manufacture and cutting corners, that is what it costs to manufacture, distribute and package in North America. It’s literally a one time cost tho. What does the cost of killing your frags or fishes add up to when you have to buy them 6-7 times? It’s all perspective
@@clearwaterscrubbers7589 pls as reactors are not great and seems like this product has been around for some time. I bet even if could ship to local LFS stores uk most people would happily pay the shipping.
The algae off the scrubber contains almost 50% more nitrogen than chaeto based off testing we have had done. I would say that’s far more efficient. Plus it’s what grows next to the corals already. Not in the lagoons 3 miles away.
@@clearwaterscrubbers7589 "contains almost 50% more nitrogen than chaeto" means nothing unless it is growing the same mass or more at the same rate or faster than chaeto which we know it does not... There is a reason why there are not hundreds of variations of these things like chaeto reactors..

@@clearwaterscrubbers7589 I don't need to, your competition already is. I get you're pricing against your cost which is a separate business issue. The main issue here is that your cost/pricing (cost+ markup) is not in line with the other options on the market which makes your customers less likely to buy (regardless of how good it is). I would honestly love to use one of these on my tank, but the cost is prohibitive and the other options out there that are more economical that achieve the same goal and similar function. Where’s the updated video in use?
The whole video is basically about how it looks? What about showing it operating etc?

Along for the algae ride👍🏻
I need some convincing why I'd rather have this over chaeto which just seems easier....does harvesting these algaes prove more efficient?

700$ for square cut acrylic? Is this serious?
It’s made in Canada. Please go design, build, distribute and package something similar on a large scale and tell us it’s overpriced.

100% Truth. This was one of the laziest and least informative product videos I’ve seen.
Sticker shock! Sorry, I'll stick to my DIY.
Its too bad Josh the owner at clearwater showed his true colors on the forums, he lost a lot of support in potential customers.
Have you ever considered hiring a videographer? You really need one. We can’t see shit while you fumble around with the product.
Love to see your videos... he's doing good work at least. But you know better.
Love your vids but just a tidbit… wouldn’t wear your mic against your throat… make for a nasal sound…
