    I’m so glad you shared! Some thoughts, I like a notes page for each month. I like to do my double page monthly calendar and then leave a blank page for anything I want to remember or reference. Also, I guess you’ll not really be able to decorate the entire month since you’ll only be using whatever you need and you won’t know what that is until it happens. I usually do 5-10 pages at a time. I’m excited to see how this works for you with your business. Will you still be using (or reimplement) a weeks for dirty planning and scheduling business tasks ahead?

    • @SterlingInk
      @SterlingInk 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yess! We are on the same page! I think for the one page reference I would be combining with the monthly so I can see everything together. I was thinking about the decoration part I would probably still decorate maybe 30 pages at a time. I am mostly able to fill out 30 pages if I combined a to do list with brain dump plus journaling plus book journal etc. and I will just draw out the weeks onto the already decorated page whenever I need to. As of now I don’t really see myself decorating more than once a month haha and I feel like my decorations are pretty minimal so it wouldn’t really get in the way too much. I am using a weeks for dirty planning. I think it’s good to have a book with all the calendars ready for planning out business dates and it’s also nice to have a new planner that’s not just a notebook. When I don’t get a new planner for the year, it kind of backfires and I end up going crazy and buy a ton of other ones a month into the new year haha.

    I am considering a Hobonichi Cousin; but, I am hesitant for most all the reasons you mention - keeping month, weeks and days together, customizing my trackers, etc. I am familiar with Nanami; and, am considering it in lieu of Cousin; but, the amount of prep and set-up drawing that I have to do myself is daunting. When you first started bullet journaling, how did you keep yourself motivated until it became a second nature or an efficient habit?

    • @SterlingInk
      @SterlingInk 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think for me the most important thing was to constantly have it by my side lol. Out of sight out of mind. I have always kept a notebook/planner so it wasn’t very difficult to keep up with it. But I think having a set schedule for preplanning helped for me. For example I mark out the weekend before a new month to plan out the month ahead, and every Sunday night I plan out the week ahead. In terms of setting up, I just write out the dates and for the monthly spread which takes no time, and same thing for the weekly it’s just date and day of the week. Dailies are just a date and day of the week again. The only set up here really is the beginning portion where I plan out my goals etc. in terms of decoration, I have put together a variety of stickers and washi strips using the same thing along with a freebie calendar cover page so it doesn’t take much to slap on a few stickers to make the whole month look cohesive. I am not drawing anything in my planner so I think it shouldn’t be too difficult.

    Thank you for this Catherine! I messaged you on Instagram too. How do you like using the Nanami compared to the stalogy paper. I've been a stalogy user the past few yrs and recently changed to Nanami for more pages. The A5's are the same but the grid vs cross style is different. I haven't used it just yet until I do a draft setup.... but how are you liking it?

    • @SterlingInk
      @SterlingInk 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Alexis, thank you for your message. I definitely prefer nanami over stalogy since it’s tomoe River paper. The stalogy paper always bleeds for me when I use fountain pen. I also don’t like that I can barely see the grid in certain lights and I have very good eyesight.
