- Kevin Knox is a wiry, nimble 6’9” streak-scoring small forward from Tampa, Florida that starred at the University of Kentucky this past season for John Calipari.
He’s a mild-natured, quiet but witty kid that comes from a tight-knit sports family: his mother was a D1 volleyball player at Florida State, and like Vernon Carey, his dad is a football legend in the state of Florida. He served as big play receiver for Heisman-winner Charlie Ward’s at Florida State in the early 90s.

Great analysis as usual, man. I don't know where you came from but its obvious you've played ball, spend a lot of time intelligently analyzing game tape. Thats not to mention the fire dad jokes and slick delivery. Keep this shit up and you'll be getting paid more then half the guys you are analyzing.

I think people are very wrong in how they are looking at Knox. People forget, this kid is 18 years old. If anyone actually remembers 18 year old Kevin Durant at Texas, he was eerily similar. Kevin Durant now was not Kevin Durant then. It is unrealistic to compare Knox were he is now, to Durant. I think this kid will be very good, he will be big time in the NBA in about 3 years
RawHebrewRemnant Go back and look at Durrant‘s stats from his one year in college. He was the best player in the country. One has to assume that Knox will never be as good as Durant, but he is a top-five talent in this draft, much better than Michael Porter.

Kobe Bryant was 18 when he first got into the league and already made an impact so was Dirk Novitski and Carmelo Anthony and they were all high picks. I think they evaluated him correctly. personally I think he is not mentally ready for NBA and should stay in college to polish up his game

As a Knicks fan watching him so far, this was immensely accurate, especially that point on team's risk tolerance and the point on his staying involved in games. Well done. I lean with him being able to grow into a high impact player but the negatives are there for sure. But all in all, this was incredibly well done.

Pedro Lyra it's Scouts Honor, he's a huge Boston celtics fan who makes bold claims. But they are almost always right so you should probably go with them too. He can be a bit monotoned at times tho.

As for Knox, I'm afraid he's the kind of player who will just disappear in three years if he's not in the exact right situation, but I am a little bit higher on him now after learning how young he is. I wonder if one more year of college might have been the right call, but I can't blame anyone for chasing a dream and oh yeah getting a few million dollars guaranteed in the process.

I think with a lot of potential lottery picks, teams and fans get caught up with expecting them all to become all-star, or all-world players and if they don't, the said player is considered a disappointment. Kevin Knox is so young, that his offensive ceiling is someone who is 20+ PPG scorer in the league. But if Knox only becomes Otto Porter, I think that is a win. He's best served earlier on being a wing shooter for a team with a ball-dominant PG who can put him the right spots. You're absolutely right, asking him to create his own offense at this stage would be unfair and detrimental to his growth in the league. If all goes to plan, he should be a great 3rd option in 3 years IMO.
