"The Mercedes feels like a Mercedes" "The Volvo is the heaviest and it feels like a heavy Volvo" "In the Audi, you point the steering and it goes there" No s***!
I have the facelifted Volvo S60 T6. I love that people overlook Volvos or just forget that they're even there. The looks on the faces on the drivers of the Audis, BMWs, Mercs, etc are all priceless when you smoke them from a light. Just dumbfounded
You can tell this video is biased. I have the exact volvo in this video. It rides a little stiff, but the inside is comfortable and more fun to drive then the other two. If you don't know, you can adjust the steering wheel pressure. Low, mid , high
WTF, there is a $15000 price gap between the BMW the most expensive of the bunch and the Infiniti the cheapest ! In my opinion BMW is just too unjustifiably overpriced considering its zero rarity (seriously, it's almost becoming like everyone has one nowadays) and its not-far-but-just-a-bit-slightly-better performance on these unrealistic track tests. I'd take the beautiful audi of course, it's got the best interior and more sophisticated brand image.
The Audi A4's interior is terrible garbage and all the dials and little bits are VW bits from Passats and Jettas lined with plastic chrome... Sophisticated if you like boring slow cars.
Aelazadne You must have sat in the wrong car because the Audi that I own has the best interior, real solid aluminium pieces and genuine solid build quality.
I am sure it is. I am sure you ignore the VW bits and the cheap interior. If the Audi is an A3-5 their are so many VW bits that you have to be blind. The Build quality of the A series is low. The S-cars on the other hand are the cars worth talking about.
Aelazadne Of the bunch here, Mercedes and Audi are benchmarks in interior quality. I don't know why you've gone off-topic with A-series and S-cars. None of those cars are in the 'price range' nor are they in the comparison video. I mean it is OK if you don't like Audi. You don't have to force your opinions to others.
I do not think you understand. The build quality of the S line is on par with BMWs normal series in fact it is slightly better with leather quality (S-line gets Nappa while 3 series gets Dakota) and materials like carbon fiber in the interior. The point i am making is the A line is too entry level. Like an A4 it interior lags behind that of a 3 series. Oh and do not think i am an Audi hater. I love the S5, RS5, and the SQ5. The problem I have with them on their A line up (A8 excluded) is they go cheap.
I went to the dealer today I drove an Audi A4 2.0T, BMW 328i and a Mercedes-Benz C-Class SPORT. I gotta say that the BMW felt like shit, it was so plastic inside and drove pretty rough. The Mercedes was uncomfortable and was not as rough as the BMW but it didn't appeal to me. The Audi on the other hand was a different story not only did it drive like a sports car but it felt so smooth. The inside of the car was incomparable to the BMW and the Mercedes. I bought the Audi without a question as my first car.
Picky much for a first car. You are straight up lieing, BMW doesn't have plastic in the interior, its mostly leather or soft touch. You don't know jack shit.
Desi, you can always get a pre-owned certified BMW a couple years old with a warranty and save thousands of dollars. The models don't change that much between the years which is what I like about them, besides other things of course. Can't tell the difference between 2012-2015. Once you drive one your instantly convinced that it's the ultimate. The feel and precision of the interior parts is superior. And lastly the drive…
B - Mercedes C250, i have a C63 AMG 13' and its realy fast! My top speed was 172mp/h and is really good turning at high speed. Before that one I had a S4 quattro 09', but it was uncomfortable in the city. Good review
I owned a Mercedes slk 230 which was incredible in cornering. It really was. It was fast and I got it up to 145+ mph with no problem. Not the best 0-60 car, but once I got to 30 mph it could compete with some of the best. I then bought the Audi A4, S-line Quattro. In normal "D" mode, it's not really impressive. The tiptronic wasn't much better. But one day I shifted it into the "S" mode, and this beast came alive. WOW!!! No one talks about the S transition on the internet. It's like a well kept secret. This 2.0 blew the doors off a 3.5 Maxima, let him get away and ran it down like nothing. (I only took the challenge bc the Maxima owner was talking trash.) But what a difference the "S" mode makes. It's a completely different car!!
I'm getting an Audi A4 pretty soon I hope. If not that, it'll be something European; not Japanese or American... but not BMW either. I like the video; more interaction among you guys would be better.
I own the jdm equivalent to the infiniti (nissan skyline 250gt) excellent car, the Japanese variant has a little more horsepower 225. Very fun to drive
I saved up 10k to deposit for a new car. But I'm stuck in between the 2010 Audi A4 and both the 2008 BMW 328i coupe and 2008 335i coupe. What would be the best to go with?
Bimmer might have won, but the A4 is best for me. The bmw has two turbos and barely beat Audi's experience with the 2.0 turbo. Audi saw the future and now the rest are following with 4cylinder turbos. The AMG looks nice but sounds boring for some reason.
Audi saw the future w/ 4 cylinders? lol Emission restrictions and economy concerns are forcing 4cylinders on al automakers. You want to talk about the future look up the BMW i cars and while you're at it look up petrol and electric combination drivetrains. That's "the future"
Sadly though i prefer the smoothness of a v6 and v8 specially in V configuration. So sad, specially V6's are going the way of the dinosaur. My A6 was so smooth, and great power, cofidence. Crappy A4 with a 4 banger just feels cheap.
I've been looking at buying a CPO Audi or BMW and Audi 2.0T A4 seems like it has a boatload of problems. Leaning towards a BMW. Mercedes has the least amount of problems but seems like higher maintenance and more mileage compared to BMW or Audi for the same cost.
that audi b8 quattro has a torsen differential making it just as rearwheel biased as the xdrive bmw meaning more oversteer and fun, drive one and youll pick it over the 328i which has the same performance but is more expensive for nothing.
These are all excellent cars and it is about the client's preferences. The automotive manufacturers are entailed to compete and gain enormous market share.
IMO Audi 2014 Quattro A4 by far. Space, cost, grip, every day usage, value, respect, driver age and interior finish are excellent in Audi. You can get better in BMW and Merc cars in the high end range , but mid size executive A4 are exemplary cars that wont let you down. L ;)
If I lived in the US I would probably buy the Volvo, but maybe still consider the BMW. The Volvo is AWD so it pretty much demolishes all the other cars in rainy/cold weather. Consider yourself lucky though, your car pricing is probably one of the lowest in the world. Where I live a T6 would go for €60K, about $76K. The 328i is €55k, about $69K. The C250 about €50K, about $62K. The 2.0T €40K, about $50K. Very good review!
im not picking sides, i love all these cars, im just pointing it out. and you dont buy cars like this for track use, u get them for driving on normal roads and with that the audi has better road manners. not to mention that the price as tested in this video the audi is $7000 cheaper
You can your little BMWs heres way. I got the last years 335i and that car has been in the shop for about ten times. It drove like a dream. My first car and still my second car is an 1988 Volvo 240GL it has a bit over 850,000 miles on it and it drives great so I traded the 335i for the S60 R design and that car is a blast to drive VOLVOS FOR EVER!!
I am just transferring my own experiences and preferences having been in a volvo for about 30 years (volvo 244GL as a kid and owner of a s40 t5 now). The 1976 244 had recorded 1.2 million kms and was still going as a bull, no mechanical problems besides the routine engine service from time to time.. I am sure A6 is a great car as well, i would be the last to say the opposite. Have a nice day.
Audi for me. First to introduce the 4 cylinder turbo the rest of the pack are playing catch up. Fair play to BMW for achieving the power/economy in this engine. The Audi has just had a mid cycle refresh/facelift so expect them to be ahead of the game for the next A4. Difficult to compare especially when all the manufacturers introduce new models at different times!
One hell of a quote in the first minute into this video. "Engine alone the BMW destroys the competition!". BMW does indeed rock the entire luxury sports sedan segment.
I've test driven the BMW and Audi. I purchased the Audi effortless to drive felt more secure on the roads plus more amenities compared to BMW. the MPG is remarkable on the BMW and the idrive easier to manipulate.
Yeah, I really didn't fully understand the complaints about the S60. I also have test driven the 328i, the A4, the G37, and the C300 a few years ago and the S60 and G37 surprised me the most out of the bunch. I bought the Infiniti G because I thought it was the most interesting and unique.
All unreliable cars. Especially the Audi and BMW. They are just not made to last without high maintenance. 55 thousand miles on my Infiniti G25 and no problems whatsoever
2012? or 2013? or older. and how is it? considering a preowned A4 or 328i to replace my 98 Honda CR-V, it feels like Such a Downgrade you know? (Scarcasm)
I drive a 20111 BMW 3 series and it's an amazing car. I'm someone who actually appreciates the details and the feel of a car and the BMW rides very smoothly and has great handling. It has a comfortable interior and looks very nice too. It's very adaptable, you can change many things on it to suit you, and it is just an amazing car. Also it goes very fast with little effort. It feels incredibly light and has greater speed then any other car in its class. Very few flaws with that car, it's just h
I'd go for the infiniti, a great chassis and steering is wat makes a car fun to drive. I drive an E9X 3 series and the steering on that car (with the right tyres) is just brilliant, you can feel the road, the new one has an electrical servo (although better than on the 1series) it kinda ruins a driving experience. The seating position and options to move the steering wheel further back are better than the previous model.
I got one, amazing car. Everytime I get out of the car, I always have to look at it while I walk away from it. A lot of compliments from people but most important I love the car.
The BMW has the worst brakes of them all. I looked at all the figures and the Audi should have won this. But that doesn't fit their template. The BMW is their darling.
The polestar cars that you are talking about are just a concept vehicle and is not offered for sale. But they do have a polestar package which is a Polestart ECU tune that bumps up the BHP and Torque. There is no change in Suspension. C30's have been discontinued but Volvo and Polestar made 250 limited edition C30 that they are selling in the US. Polestar tune takes C30’s 2.5-liter turbo five from 227 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque to 250 hp and 273 lb-ft of twist.
I love BMW but this 2012 BMW 328i is the worst handling compare to the previous 3 series , its a lot of body roll and the steering is too light. Honestly the 2012 Audi A4 drives better.
Actually the new 3 series is better in every way and the whole steering non-sense is subjective bullshittery. Something to take into account the 3 series in this review was wearing Contiprocontact All season tires which are inferior to the Audi's Summer tires on the the track. You can get summer tires on the 3 series.
So pay 50k, For a car that performs exactly like the a4. But at 43k. Makes sense. And the whole Nonsense about driving feel and crap is total bs 99% of people won't tell the difference in the daily normal city/high driving. At 50k I'll buy myself an audi s4 much better than that 328i and yes even better than the 335i. This was a bias comparison. The audi had the same results with less hp and torque than the bmw yet audi was far behind. Please go sit on a pole with all these bias bmw C*** suckers. I think bmw is a great car but when you clearly make bias and unfair comparison it pisses me off. Then you have idiots like the guys commenting here believing all that crap. Proboably never even driven a bmw but knows how it drives laughable to say the least.
I find BMW has gone soft these days. They used to be really serious about driving dynamics and they handled brilliantly. Now, they are soft and no steering feel. AND they are simply overpriced.
Well I'm biased to german cars all the time but among the three germans tested definitely i would go for BMW. It's so much fun to drive even if the interior isn't as much classy as the C class. A4 quattro is excellent too, but i can't remove that BMW sticker from my heart
+Connecticut Dashcam No one ever gives credit to Volvo for anything, but Volvo has actually done so much for the automotive industry but no one realizes the potential the brand has, plus, C/D are sold for BMW and Audi in the first place, just look on their website, they make them win everywhere.
Taken as a whole, which is what you are buying, the whole package, the BMW still sets the bar. Granted, the Audi is not far behind and if it were not for their less than stellar reliability grades, I would have seriously considered the Audi over the BMW. Audi will get a second look from me, in 4 years when my new 328i is ready to go to pasture.
The trouble is, people like what they are used to, the same goes for car reviewers, so it's all subjective. The BMW in this video is the newest/latest version of the 3 series, whereas the Audi and Mercedes are 4/5 years older at best which is half a generation in car terms. Mercedes have a new C class out and it looks awesome. Dare I say it but the interior is very Audi Esque. Audi are still completing tests of the new A4 which will be launched in 2015. It should be a good match. I personally love the Audi, though it is starting to look a bit dated now, even with the facelift, it's an effortless drive and the build quality excellent.
Driven most of these... I'd say the new 3-series is the definitely the best, although the Audi is close behind. Mercedes is a nice car but its not quite there, I haven't driven the others but the Infiniti looks dated and everyone says the volvo handles badly. Good review guys :)
certified pre-owned through BMW was very painless. free oil changes etc. i got my 335i for $33k with 27k miles and loaded with everything but navi. the A4 is nice, but the 328 will probably be more fun for you. you really can't go wrong with either, so i say go with the one that's harder to walk away from ;)
As an Audi owner and enthusiast I'm obviously going to side with the Audi . The added weight to the car only ads comfort in my opinion, with little to no effect on the performance. Not to mention how beautiful this car is. I will say I'm a fan of BMWs halo headlights.
Thanks for the info! I test drove the Volvo and just didn't care for the way it felt. The BMW was by far my favorite to drive. It was just so much fun to drive. Unfortunately I could only afford the base model which is extremely bare in options, doesn't even have power seats!!! So instead I went with a fully loaded Acura TSX.
Everyone's complaining about how much the BMW costs but you do get what you pay for. The bimmer by far has way better handling than the others and is a ton of fun to drive. Sure audis look beautiful, but have a lot of understeer and if you wanna spend 40k on a car just for its looks then you shouldn't be buying a sports car.
of course BMW won! they only make the best! my family has been buying BMW since the 70's. we've gone through about four 5 series all long lasting 450,000 miles EACH! i currently own an e92 328xi and couldn't be happier. My uncle is very fond of Audi and he had a couple himself (A6 and the A4) all models with different packages each time but he traded his 05 A6 for am E39 BMW 528i with the sport package. thats saying a lot :) BMW FOR LIFE!!
I for one drove all 5 of them and I liked and bought the Volvo S60. I also look at relabilty and safety not just driveabilty. Plus My S60 R Design will spank the G25 the 328i the A4 2.0T and the C250 sport.

just bought a 2013 328xi, its an AMAZING car!!! great on fuel, power when you want it! i reccommend making the purchase
Infiniti looks sexy.
2012? or 2013? or older. and how is it? considering a preowned A4 or 328i to replace my 98 Honda CR-V, it feels like Such a Downgrade you know? (Scarcasm)
audi is the best but volvo is the sexiest
I drive a 20111 BMW 3 series and it's an amazing car. I'm someone who actually appreciates the details and the feel of a car and the BMW rides very smoothly and has great handling. It has a comfortable interior and looks very nice too. It's very adaptable, you can change many things on it to suit you, and it is just an amazing car. Also it goes very fast with little effort. It feels incredibly light and has greater speed then any other car in its class. Very few flaws with that car, it's just h
what the hell is an Infiniti g25 journey ???? never heard of that.
it's a slow pos unlike the g37
I rather take a car with less power, but with better quality, which is able to drive 300.000 km without changing every second part of the car.
Volvo for Life.
How did they manage to get just a fast 0-60 time on the A4 2.0TFSI. Is this correct or should it be 6.6 secs.
E: VOLVO
I'd go for the infiniti, a great chassis and steering is wat makes a car fun to drive.
I drive an E9X 3 series and the steering on that car (with the right tyres) is just brilliant, you can feel the road, the new one has an electrical servo (although better than on the 1series) it kinda ruins a driving experience. The seating position and options to move the steering wheel further back are better than the previous model.
Haha yay BMW is always the best. So far every video Ive watched, BMW takes first place. So happy to be an owner of a BMW:D
The audi would be my pick. I've always been impressed with every aspect of them.
the volvo is always going to be my favorite
my oldest sister owns a BMW, my second oldest sister owns a Benz, and I just got my Audi A4 two days ago and I looove it
AUDI
The polestar cars that you are talking about are just a concept vehicle and is not offered for sale. But they do have a polestar package which is a Polestart ECU tune that bumps up the BHP and Torque. There is no change in Suspension. C30's have been discontinued but Volvo and Polestar made 250 limited edition C30 that they are selling in the US. Polestar tune takes C30’s 2.5-liter turbo five from 227 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque to 250 hp and 273 lb-ft of twist.
infiniti...
I lovvvveeeee my a4. Best looking one in my opinion too.
And the whole
Nonsense about driving feel and crap is total bs 99% of people won't tell the difference in the daily normal city/high driving.
Aelazadne quattro is legendary... your just jealous
I find BMW has gone soft these days. They used to be really serious about driving dynamics and they handled brilliantly. Now, they are soft and no steering feel. AND they are simply overpriced.
venturacougar1 Because Audis understeer. A Bmw's drive feel is far superior to Audis. They are great cars but you don't feel connected to them.
I have a 2013 328i xdrive M pack. Great car and good looking too! I love it !
Volvo by far
Was down to A4 and 328 for me and the new 2.0 and driving dynamics of the BMW are truly far superior.
Ewww that Volvo is hideous. Like a Nissan Sentra lol
It looks nothing like a Sentra.
The sentry is still ugly
Stephen Pearson so if the volvo is so ugly, what do you prefer then?
are you saying the volvo is ugly like a sentra, or it looks like a sentra? either way i disagree with either.
lol its sad that the 16 sentra looms better than the volvo . I don't see why volvo ia thee it's not in the same luxury class lmao
Well I'm biased to german cars all the time but among the three germans tested definitely i would go for BMW. It's so much fun to drive even if the interior isn't as much classy as the C class. A4 quattro is excellent too, but i can't remove that BMW sticker from my heart
ive got a 2012 audi a4. its definitly unreliable and im selling it.
Biggest problem you have with it?
Too much to mention. Biggest replacement was the transmission sensor malfunction at 60k km, cost me more than 2k to replace..
+Superblyme139 you sure it wasnt just a lemon?
Please tell me how a heavy awd audi with only 211hp is pulling 95 mph trap speeds...
See, somehow, even though its a tank, the Volvo won in acceleration
asdbs11 It's a phenomenal engine that no-one gives any credit to because it's not German.
+Connecticut Dashcam No one ever gives credit to Volvo for anything, but Volvo has actually done so much for the automotive industry but no one realizes the potential the brand has, plus, C/D are sold for BMW and Audi in the first place, just look on their website, they make them win everywhere.
Melvin Merlos eoekrjfjfkfkdfkd
what is the top speed of audi 2.0t and bmw 328i-?
+deep singh Audi 145 mph limited, BMW 155 mph limited
Taken as a whole, which is what you are buying, the whole package, the BMW still sets the bar. Granted, the Audi is not far behind and if it were not for their less than stellar reliability grades, I would have seriously considered the Audi over the BMW. Audi will get a second look from me, in 4 years when my new 328i is ready to go to pasture.
BMW > Audi on performance which is why I purchase a sports vehicle.
BMW hands down.
328i is a beast
have you driven one? the whole thing is disappointing and obnoxiously loud from the outside. the steering is awful
I purchased an Audi, my brother purchased a BMW 328i.
I like my Audi better overall. But performance and handling go to BMW.
Why in the world would they use a G37 when they used base engines for the others?
certified pre-owned through BMW was very painless. free oil changes etc. i got my 335i for $33k with 27k miles and loaded with everything but navi. the A4 is nice, but the 328 will probably be more fun for you. you really can't go wrong with either, so i say go with the one that's harder to walk away from ;)
As an Audi owner and enthusiast I'm obviously going to side with the Audi .
Sure audis look beautiful, but have a lot of understeer and if you wanna spend 40k on a car just for its looks then you shouldn't be buying a sports car.
g25 has a real dark interior too, the wording in this video made it seem like they only offered Tan leather
"they used to excrete the worst little turds into the segment" lol so true
of course BMW won! they only make the best! my family has been buying BMW since the 70's. we've gone through about four 5 series all long lasting 450,000 miles EACH! i currently own an e92 328xi and couldn't be happier. My uncle is very fond of Audi and he had a couple himself (A6 and the A4) all models with different packages each time but he traded his 05 A6 for am E39 BMW 528i with the sport package. thats saying a lot :) BMW FOR LIFE!!
A for BMW. I got this model last march and it is amazing!!!
ive owned my vw for 5 years and ive not had a single problem
That model Audi has great throttle response and gearing.
I for one drove all 5 of them and I liked and bought the Volvo S60. I also look at relabilty and safety not just driveabilty. Plus My S60 R Design will spank the G25 the 328i the A4 2.0T and the C250 sport.
