Tolu Obey choosed to be the future generations Miliki Commander since 30 years ago I knew him. More of him is yet to come
Tolu Obey is a chip of the old block. He is just a younger version of Obey and one could easily mistake him for Obey if you listen to audio version of this alone. Tolu has been working very hard over the years and I think it is paying off for him now. I first saw him perform on stage in 1997 in Abeokuta at the burial ceremony of Obey’s mother, Madama Abigail Oyindamola. That day, he amazed and entertained his audience - a signal that Obey has been re-incarnated. Tolu will continue to attract big wigs in the society as evidenced in this video. I love the fact that he infused some speed in his version of Juju Miliki to garnish what he inherited from the legendary Obey. On a lighter note, did anyone notice the mesmerizing dance steps of Iyabo Ojo between 25:59 and to 26:38? That was a classical Owanbe dig. I have seen this video over and over and I keep loving it. tolu obey is finding it easy baba obey has done the difficult work however he is doing fantastically well with the foundation that has been laid down as well as improving on it great work tolu keep it up obey is not yet retired cos I as one of baba obey no one fan always worried if we are going to ever see any musicians like baba any more but this is a breath of fresh air
