I am a long time follower of Sortedfoods. Thank you for the collab and.....Where has this channel been and why has it taken me so long to get here?!?!?
Personally I'm super 50/50 on AI. This is how I feel like they should be used! To bring about rough ideas to make your own things instead of just stealing from other artists, jumbling them up in a pot, and then letting a robot scoop out the contents and plop it on canvas as its own art.
AI is there to create ideas, because it can never truly create something unique. Are you an artist if you're making a copy of the mona lisa? You might have the artistic skills, but it's not truly a piece of art because there's no meaning to it. AI is kind of a medium upon itself because the artist is the person giving it the prompts and supplying the creativity.
I do agree that AI art should be used to get ideas to create your own piece, though I also think it's still not okay. I would be more accepting of it if the people that created Stability AI (and all the other AI databases) actually got consent or just... didn't use copyrighted work.
I hate it when people just type words in pick a picture then claim they made it. No you didn't you prompted AI and the AI made it
@@eclipsex02 As with everything new we just have to collectively decide what in it is ok and then regulate it. That is what we have done as a society for ages and the regulation always trails behind but it always does get there...

I thought the pink and white dragonfruit flower on the AI cake was just piped dragonfruit-flavored buttercream (like how you pipe buttercream roses) but I think it's cool you tried to go a natural route with a real dragonfruit on top. I like how the yellow slices turned out. The flavors of the cake sound delicious! Good job :)

You did so well! The texture on the side of the cake is spot-on and considering the decoration on the top just can't be real, you got pretty darn close to recreating them! All in all it looks really really good.
OMG the texture on the sides was SO challenging! But I think it came out pretty great in the end

The picture looks impossible, you've done such an awesome job to recreate it, I'm super impressed! The flavours also sound incredible, I feel like if I lived near you and needed to order a cake, I'd ask for those flavours but let you do whatever design you like.

The best channel collaboration EVER - to see my favorites join up was sheer joy. I saw the Sorted video first and was amazed with the boy's effort. You had a calming effect on them, especially Mike - as he is known for his "Huddlestorms"!!! The final cakes were beautiful. I then got to watch your collab with Ben; what a wonderful pairing. Such an innovative idea of using AI to come up with the idea and then watching you both plan and then execute such a great looking cake. Can't wait for future collaborations and see what wonders you come up with. Keep up the great work.
It’s like finding out two old friends know each other - thank you for the collab! I probably would have made the dragonfruit flower on top with something other than an actual piece of dragonfruit. The rest of the cake was SO amazing and that was its weakest link. But I would have lost patience long before getting to the detail. Your work with the green frosting was stellar!
I think the photo shows a meringue not an actual Dragon fruit.

Hi visiting after I saw your Collab on the sorted channel! The interaction between you and your husband is so much fun to watch and the cake turned out so beautiful! Incredibly alike and kudos to Ben for creating the flavor combinations from the AI picture alone! He's a talent!

I can easily picture your beautiful cakes with Ben’s complex flavor profiles like the one in this cake, or even Mike’s strawberry filling with basil and pepper.

This turned out great although, I can't help but think that the "flower" maybe could have been made from white chocolate? You did better with it than I ever could, even trying to make a dragon fruit look like an AI flower. Looks great, sounds like it was delicious!
I think agar agar jelly would have been great for this project, it provides the translucency of the dragonfruit portion and it would have been easier to mould too. Coincidentally, it also tastes great with pandan, haha.
Kind of work i guess but the cake is layer so it would be hard to stack, wouldnt it
@@CSCatos Agar Agar can be poured in layers. You'd just have to let the previous layer cool off first. A lot of agar agar desserts come in layers. :)

I use ginger biscuits in my cheesecake biscuit base and it is divine! Never had Lemongrass syrup before so I'm getting ideas for my next bake here! I've not seen Sorted before despite being a Brit so I'm off to their page now too. I love seeing collabs between folk online.
I just LOVE discovering new channels like this, specially on topics such as food and creativity and this is the perfect intersection! As a fan of sortedm I'm a better chef than baker, especially when it comes to decorating, my energy is usually low when the thing comes out out the owen. But it's amazing to watch someone make something as creative as this! So impresses!
see and I'm the opposite! I skip all the flavors to get to the fun part where I get to be creative! But I want to start bringing some of that flavor creativity from Sorted into more of my cakes! Because fire breathing dragon warmth thai tropical cake 🤯

Not to offend you one bit ok. But even a Professional pastry chef would have a hard time making a cake that look exactly like an image. Image don't have texture. Remember the trend that was online you made a video of you trying it. You add to cut paper I think and fill it with icing .I love it. Was so great. I think that is what you would need to make make the icing for that kind of cake. If I would cut ANY fruits and make it look like that. I would have NO fingers left. Congrat Laurie! That is one hell of a cake.🥳🥰

This was honestly incredible!!! My 7 year old daughter and I have many a times put cake prompts into the "craiyon" AI platform. It's so fun to see what it spits out! I'd love to see a whole series of these. You really nailed it!
Here from Sorted and this video is amazing! My oldest daughter loves to bake, so I immediately sent her to your channel. I'm a control/neat freak when I'm in the kitchen, so watching you build this cake from what looks like your living room makes my skin crawl thinking about the possibility of crumbs, icing and whatnot getting into your carpet or rug. Looking forward to watching your previous videos and those that are coming next.

That looked really, really, really hard. I think that dragonfruit flower was not realistically replicable, but you made as good of a real version of the whole cake I think anyone could have. I'm really curious what pandan tastes like now.
I’m not sure if this will help but pandan is has a an almondish flavour if you’ve never had it before!!
AI generators like midjourney "learn" by stealing. The people who created them did not ask the artists if it was okay to train their AI on their work. So when it comes down to it AI art is theft. Love you and love your channel just wanted to inform.

Not to hate but saying that guy that's using the AI is amazing is painful, He probably only types in some basic idea's any creative artist can come up with and the AI did everything...
That cake turned out so wild looking but the colors are amazing and I bet the flavors were incredible... I'm definitely against AI, for everything except for maybe medical training or engineering purposes. I think we're already too involved with technology and it makes me nervous to think of "relying" on it even more. I'm worried people will be fully engaged in ai platforms that they forget to truly be present here on earth

I’m sorry but the dude saying ‘I made this’ is such BS. He didn’t make anything. AI stole images from other people and smashed it together as a new image. AI isn’t creating something out of nothing. It’s stealing from things that already exist and was already created by someone else.
I mean.... Technically.... Our brain cant imagine things wev never seen... So.... Arent we like.... Basicly doin the same? Just taking existing things and smushing them together?
Like im not saying i support ai "artists". Im just thinking that maybe u could think that argument through more, so it would like.. be more anti-argument-proof? (I duno how exactly to put it in words) But i agree that saying u did somthn when its AI generated is a shameless crime against artistic creative process

I cannot stand people who call themselves "artists" when all they do is give a computer program a prompt. IMO you should get no credit for that, the program should.
Oh so if midjourney made it, that guy didn't make it haha. You do wonderful work! Your artistry, skills, imagination are what make you an artist, so I don't think it's fair to call someone who entered a prompt into an image generator a creator.

AI images are not art. Art is made by human beings. What you created is art.
AI is fine for inspiration, but it can never take the place of real artists. The world of art would lose its humanity, not to mention it steals the work of real artists to use for its images.

If stuff is on the internet to be publicly seen, it gets stolen by everybody, not just AI. AI uses millions of images as inspiration, just like everybody else does
