Why stop at 20 hours?
After decades of waiting for the Sacramento Kings to be a championship team, my wife and I started watching Giants baseball with Kruk and Kuip in the early 2000s. We knew nothing about the game, but got hooked because of these two. They taught us baseball and are Giants fans because of them. When that great ESPN news story came out a couple of years about the bond between these men, my wife said: "They make you fall in love with the game."
They really do. I grew up watching the giants and listening to these two talk baseball. They were really a part of my childhood
still waiting on the kings…
And the really do. I can’t imagine rooting for another team and a big reason is bc of them
They’re just as important to us fans as the players are. This video was heart warming .
The people who really love baseball essentially really love their baseball announcers. That's one of the big things different about baseball and other major sports. The announcers are a crucial part of the game.
Can’t think of any players who I've watched/listened to in every giants game in my life. IMO they're more important than most players.
More. I miss these guys already, and I'm going to watch them tonight! We Love Kruk & Kuip!!!!

For context: I am from Poland🇵🇱, in our country baseball - to say at least - is niche. My first contact with Kruk&Kuip was legendary videogame MVP Baseball 2005. Outside from entertainment value, I used it as a tool for learning basic baseball rules. When I learned that the commentators are from regional TV, not from national TV, I was surprised. But I learned baseball basics, "swiiiiiing and the miss" and "it is outta here" got into my brain. My next step was watching some highlights and games. I saw Barry Bond's HR hits with charismatic calls "it is outta here". I learned that there were done by p-b-p guy from MVP Baseball. I watched a lot of other highlights. And, in long story short, I became a fan of Kruk & Kuip (and a lot of other regional and national announcers). And baseball of course. I am happy that K&K were able to announce SF Giants win in World Series. I wish them all the best. Greetings from Poznan, Poland!
Kruk and Kuip are truly an institution for the ages. They have made Giants baseball special for so many years.
I met Mike Krukow back in the 3Comdlestick days. I was playing catch with a friend outside the players’ parking lot when I saw him get out of his car. I yelled out ‘Hey Krukow! Can I get your autograph?’ He signaled to the guard working the gate to let me in. When I got to him I held out a baseball in my right hand for him to sign, and this is what he said:
‘Young man, put that ball in your other hand.’ I did what I was told.
‘Now, hold out your right hand…’
I held it out and he gave it a firm hand shake and said ‘I’m Mike Krukow. It’s a pleasure to meet you!’
I don’t remember anything after that because I was blown away by that. Much love and respect for that guy!
MVP Baseball 2005 introduced me to these guys. Awesome duo.
No fan that has ever heard Duane Kuiper with Mike Krukow will forget those voices and especially "IT IS OUTTA HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Krukow and Kuiper, I have your Giants Cards, John Miller with such an authoritative tone, Shawn Estes- the first game ball I could have had was from you when you hit a 2 bagger vs Colorado and the the ball popped up into the seats at Pac Bell Park....I looked down at the ball between my feet, and I picked the ball up and gave it to the Schoolboy sitting next to me....I come from New Zealand, and I will NEVER get another chance again. My Mother passed away before the Giants began their 3 World Series tilt....on behalf of us all, thank you!!!!

Kruk is great but Kuip is awful
They are so great. A lot of players come and go but Kruk and Kuip remain constant. Such a joy to listen to even when the team is having an off year.
Krukow and Kuiper are loved not only by the fans, but by the team. They deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. They're basically part of the Giants family.

I was taught the Giant way, born in San Jose, Giant fan since about 1995 is when I started watching most games. I love the history of baseball, I am a relative of Mel Ott, my grandfathers name was Ed Ott, and my late father and his father loved the Giants. I fell in love with Duane and Mike. Duane I cant tell you how much I think of your voice, how much I think of your absolutely inhuman ability to call a games moments, you are hands down the best ive ever heard, the best whos ever done it, just the best period, you are the GOAT. Mike... You in your own way are the GOAT, your passion is unrivaled for a team, you are the heart and soul of the Giants in every single way, and you are one of the most loving and funniest people ive ever gotten to know. Baseball is an everynight thing, you watch 150+ games a year if you are me, you fall in love with the voices, the storytelling, the family love and appreciation thats showed, the overall baseball iq, which has made me a better baseball enthusiast, These class acts are the most genuine amazing people in the business. I love you two more than any players, more than possibly the Giants brand itself. Thank god we have you guys, for the ups and downs, and you deserve all the accolades you will get.
I moved to the PNW, and over the time I have been here, I have come to realize the world outside Giants world respects us, they respect what we did, and they respect Duane and Mike. Knowing that makes me feel much better.

2 years ago I was in SF working my first stab at being a fedex driver. Mission bay route on one of my training days I ran into Mike krukow on the way to a stop at a new apartment. Recognized him instantly. Got to shake his hand & everything. Grew up listening to him the kuipers Jon Miller Joe buck all those guys. Fun days. Thanks for the memories.
I'm 41... I played into college... These two taught me the game on a different level. They are my baseball story in so many ways and they are very much part of why I love this special game so much.

They will always be my favorite. I saw them as players and quickly became my favorite broadcasters. So hard to think of them not being together for every game. They set the bar very high. Thank you both for all the games we've shared together.😷✌️🥎

Everytime you listen to these guys call a game, not only are they the best in baseball but you learn something new during every game, they educate you on what goes through the mindset of being a player....giants games wont be the same when they retire they are a national treasure

I learn more form Kurk watching baseball than any other broadcaster
These two are the reason, that when our team goes to postseason, we should be hearing our announcers calling the game. They are simply the best, and no network could ever find a better pair to call a game. But… then every other teams fans would come to understand what they don’t get when they listen to their team play. Hall of Fame announcers, no question!
Best mlb broadcasters ever to live. Dave Niehaus, Vin Scully, Donald Sterling, Michael Kay cannot compare. not a chance. Kruk and kuip are so funny, relaxed, and helped create arguably the greatest culture ever.
Listened to these two ever since I was only four. It's going to be a really sad day when both of these guys retire, they were absolutely legendary.

Kruk and Kuip make Giants baseball that much more fun and exciting. They're the best.
One things I love about both Kruk and Kuip, is not only the way in which they call the game, but in the moments they're silent, especially when listening to them on the radio. You can immerse yourself into the atmosphere by hearing all the noises of the crowd.
When these guys leave, I may shred a tear. Grew up listening. Im glad Dave B. FLEMMING is still here

I used to watch a lot of Saturday baseball and a lot of times I would love to listen to Joe garagiola and Tony kubek do a game until I came out here to the West Coast and about 30 years ago I heard my first broadcast with Dwayne been a big fan ever since these two guys are the best he and Mike krukow

Easily the two best announcers in baseball...ever. Leading up to this certainly Harry Caray and Jon Miller and Joe Morgan...certainly Vin Scully. Duane and Mike are the best and educating new fans as well as veteran fans/players. They are simply the two best ever in the game. Thank GOD they announced in SF.
