Hi Ben, thanks for watching. Spoiler alert.... I don't finish the spoon, the seasoned Ash was hard work! It's waiting in the shed for me to re-visit this weekend! 👍

Can't beat a cockin' sausage stick 😅. Great little setup that mate, I often think about a plow point on my poncho tarp but haven't managed it yet. I was out in the woods the night before this I think in a hammock and the pinkish mist first thing was lovely. Quite possibly the best time of year along with early spring I reckon. Great vid again, thanks for posting. Cheers. Rich. 👍

Ha ha cheers matey, I couldn't get my words out yesterday! The poncho plow point worked great but I did find it a bit restrictive on space. If it was raining I would need to make absolutely certain that I pitch the back side into the weather and maybe even drop the shelter down a bit too. With the colder/wetter months looming I shall probably be switching over to a larger tarp for the next outing so that I have more dry admin space.
Completely agree with you about the sunlight at this time of year, I shall try and squeeze in as many Autumnal camps and Bimbles as I can. Thanks as always for watching Rich 👍

Finished watching! Looking forward to seeing the spoon outcome Gavin. How does that folding foam mat compare to an air pad and what sorts of temperatures do you think is its limit? Good vid as always mate, Ben 👍

Cheers Ben, in a strange kind of way, I've been enjoying the Exped foam mat and have used it a fair amount over the last year. Make no mistake though, it's certainly not as comfortable as an inflatable mat. Being a side sleeper, I have however found myself adjusting and getting used to it. I don't think it's for everyone, but I really like the simplicity and dependability of it. As for warmth, it has an R value of 2.2 so, according to all the online charts, that is meant to keep you warm down to sub zero temperatures (I'll see how it goes though as I'll no doubt be using it through winter). Nowadays, I kind of keep the Exped Downmat for glamping and those times when I want to treat myself! Thanks again for watching matey 👍
