Very impressed by Berrserk, he went from an almost reckless aggression in the first games, but the final game he was extremely reserved.
Tim was like a kicked dog, taking a very defensive position and waiting for the onslaught that never came, and Berrserk's reaction?
"The elves want to sit back and shoot? Let them." he just dodged arrows with dogs until half their ammo was gone, and when he finally did choose to engage, he did so very staggered. For the first third of that final game, I think only two of his units were actually fighting. Very, very good series of games.
It was an impressive showing, for sure. I think the psychological victory was the most interesting part. Tim's opponents previously (and in other streams, as far as I recall) are happy to give him time to build up, thinking that they would still win the symmetric game. It feels like the insane hyperaggression from Berrserk rattled him; he was shattered in the first game, and came within a hair's breadth of losing the second. He might have been pressured into changing his playstyle on the fly. As other commenters noted, choosing a final matchup that he probably wasn't very familiar with also worked to Berrserk's advantage. I wonder how much of that was a mind game, Berrserk offering up the Khorne match knowing how unusual and tempting it was.

This was insaneee. We got to see Tim - known for his slow methodical build up vs Berserk who’s known for his aggressive nonstop pressure.

Berrserk was a terminator, I only caught the end live so I went back to watch them later and that daemons of chaos match was wild. maybe Berrserk or houseplant will send you their series for you to cast since those sounded super close if they took that long to wrap up.

This was the best domination tournament I watched here, by far. That final.. holy shit so good. Two top players with different styles absolutely going at each other and being so close. Amazing games. Khorn to close the series is just chery on top, damn. edit. that was some sweaty^100 micro, so nice to see

Norsca's theme is Valhalla Calling by Miracle of Sound. Something that get the blood pumping.
Not sure where "I want it all" by queen fits in, but it fits in somewhere. I want to say slaanesh. it's either that or One of my kind by in excess.

Some really excellent play in that finals, you could really tell that they are both top players. Love how TTW had a more defensive strategy which led to them playing lots of order factions and Berrserk having a very aggressive playstyle meaning they played lots of Chaos factions.

Awesome not just to see Beserk's playstyle, but also to see him force TTW to adapt too. I don't remember a better match than that final in TW3.

I forgot to mention it during the stream, but on the tabletop the Tomb Guard did do magic damage because they're not using regular weapons, they're using cursed weapons meant to kill trespassers, which is also why they used to have Killing Blow. In the Old World they lost their magic gear, and were instead given a weaker version of Killing Blow and armour piercing.

That Norsca Vs Ogre Kingdoms game....that was ridiculous. Ogres stood NO chance...even with helm's deeping their home point I don't think it could have been held! So much value so fast for TTW
Norsca javelin throwers are one of the absolute best units for their role, among other things of course. But they're unsung heroes for sure.
@@williampounds5191 Skin wolves also provide nice and mobile anti-large, add Throg as a lord and you have a very nasty anti-large ability. Of course even the basic spearmen are kinda nice with their rage mechanic.

Just finished watching this, what a series. Spot on about dedicated servers. Too late for this game but hopefully they'll be there in the 40k adapatation which... is surely coming.

Maybe it's just me but I always find Demons of Chaos, Nurgle and Khorne very boring to watch. But the event was awesome as always! Thanks for all the content Turin.
Gotta love a company that faithfully adapts a table top game into a RTS only to knee-cap themselves by not creating dedicated servers for the community. What was the point of going through all the effort of making 3 games if you never intended to foster a multiplayer community that would keep your game alive for the next decade. I love the community, and Turin does an amazing job with these tournaments but the lag fest games are a total boner killer.
