Busted my kayak cart! Time to rebuild!

Well the kayak cart finally busted after many abusive trips. So I've rebuilt it to withstand even more abuse!

When you did the initial build, what did you use to make the "bra" that fits around the girth of the kayak and attaches to the back of the cockpit?

I used a piece of cable and passed it thru a section of 1/2 conduit.
