I think the Springs neet to be a bit stiffer
I have the same issue with my controller being backwards, reverse is forward and Forward is reverse. Is there a way to fix change that without that computer you have?
Yes go to stettings controler ant ther you can change the direxions

This is just testament to how tanky the summit really is. I've got one and absoletely love it. Definitely not meant for that kind of power, but it just eats up those jumps and hits!

I had this 1/10 summit since 2010. Change the body with proline gmc topkick , tire with proline bigjoe 40. Beautifull experience playing with this beast. Waterproof, 4x4/4×2 selector, locker, high low gear. Not much toy that time with those capability. I will keep it for my grand children
The problem in the diff are the small ball bearings of the bevel gear. Some swap the inner one for a bronze bushing, this reduces the wear of the bearing and makes the drivetrain more stable.

honestly I think the brushed system on that thing is pretty good for a brushed system, obviously brushless=better, but for a brushed, that system can move that truck pretty well

this combo is 5-6hp. ive had it for years. Its PERFECT for the Summit
Upgrade your inner and outer pinion bearings to some sealed ceramic or similar quality.
The extra rpm and huge shock loads will kill bearings and take the diffs with them.LEM makes upgrade parts
I did the castle conversion to mine a few years back. On 6s i was either not able to get it to slip just right or was blowing up diffs. Replaced all the driveshafts and metal diffs shimmed tight and still had issues. Changed it back to stock and got a kraton 6s.
Just put this exact combo on my summit, within less than 5800mah worth of run time at 4s the rear ring and pinion was chunked. Time for helical gears, with the right shims and the mesh set it should be strong enough.

I just put one of those castle beasts in my son uv a digger. Man it’s so good. Makes it perfect . More power , no cogging. Crawling ability. But the summit looks like a bit of fun now.

Just looked at your 2019 version.
Seems like the slowmo shots were more commonly used and that you filmed in higher framerates (60fps?) Back then. I really miss those kind of shots/quality. Please bring that quality back! Thanks for all you do😍😁🙏🏽.
This vid is 60fps, but when you are early to the vid youtube sometimes doesn't do 60fps
I have one. Climbing ability is awesome. Fill the tires with water (learned that after river expedition) then the climbing ability goes to stupid crazy. The weight the water creates drops the center of gravity and add weight to the soft tire can grip better.

kev, you are going to break diffs ALOT, buy the hardened pinion/spur and aluminum differential cup that the spur gear bolts to. i didnt need to go as far as buying the aluminum diff carrier. I advise shimming the pinion and differential in the case to get a no slop fit. Get the steel axle shafts that are skinny NOT the mip ones, the skinny ones twist instead of breaking and will save your diffs by absorbing drivetrain shock before the diff. also i needed to upgrade the shift puck , that motor/esc will explode that part. i replaced the dual steering servo with one strong metal gear one. on the other side i replaced the shift servo with one of the steering servos, i had a problem with the trans not shifting fully and broke things shifting it hard.
Be prepared to shatter your differentials Biggest problem with the summit & e revo Is the rear bearing in the diff

I remember when the Summit came out I thought it was the most advanced RC ever. I just realized watching you work on the summit that my little 16th scale Slash 4x4 is pretty much just a summit shrunk down 😂. Same with your mini E-Revo.

My 6s Summit is still my fave RC after many years, always fun. Needed to upgrade rear diff and shafts to all metal and fit Trencher tyres, all good otherwise.

Nice! My summit is tekin rx8 swapped it's got some power! But your gonna need to upgrade to some mip shafts to handle the power. That system wil literally just snap those shafts or spin those pins out of the plastic shafts

If the diff gears brake in youre summit then fit the 2.0 gears
Yeah ist fast with this combo, but it will eat up diffs and drive shafts faster than you can replace it,… 😝
Diffs yes. Drive shafts...not so much. You'd be surprised how durable the stock drive shafts are. I have the E-Revo Brushless Edition, which has the same driveshafts, and I've only had to replace them a couple times...and I bash that truck hard. To the moon!

I discovered something that could've helped me a few days ago. The Summit uses the E-Revo platform and has an RPM sensor mount.
