    , advertised the 1969 boxset on one side and Graceland coming events on the backside, haven't seen the postcard..

    I have the FTD CD release of Roustabout and it has photos of internal RCA memos that seem to indicate that the Girl Happy bonus print was actually made to promote the 'Roustabout' album.
    I wish you would have discussed the 'Gold record, volume 4' and 'Double Trouble' bonus photos. But overall, another great show Bob. Always interesting topics. I have all the LP bonus photos except the first one from 1956. You wouldn't have one for sale would you?
    I'm looking forward to you next shows.

      Hey Jules! Yeah, I saw that in the FTD Roustabout release. I was quite surprized to see that. However, I distinctively rememeber getting my June Kelly print when I bought Girl Happy at a local record store. That being said, I suppose it could've been a leftover giveaway, since the two albums came out so close to each other. I did buy my copy of Roustabout at a Woolworth's store, which would not have had that poster or any giveaways anyway. Hmmmmm.
      I knew I missed one of the photos at the time I taped the show - that being the Double Trouble bonus photo. Oh well, that's why there's a comment section!
      And, no. I do not have that bonus card, darn it! I had it once and saw it only one other time. It's definitley the holy grail of bonus items.
      Thanks for watching.

    That dbl sided picture of baby Elvis and the flip side shot from TTWII is
    AWESOME.
    I have never seen it B4. WOWZERS!
    In the book Elvis and Gladys, the author speculated there was a good chance that the family picture featured on the Elvis Country album. Was taken at the city jail. Just prior to Vernon's transfer to the State prison.

    Hi Robert, I love your show, can't stop watching it. I have been collecting now for about 36 years now stared in 1986. The bootleg book you are talking about is called "bootleg Elvis" released in 2012. I have made A complete scan of this book, so if you are interested in A scan of this book let me know, I will sent you some links by email where you can download it. I have been collecting mainly bootleg records, but now I'm trying to find all the USA releases. I live in the Netherlands and shipping from the USA is to expensive for me, because of the import duties, so most albums I buy on eBay comes from the European country's. Keep up the good work on your shows. All info I get is help full. Regards, Jelte

    Hey there Robert I was rewatching episodes and in this one you mention a book about bootlegs. I know you said there was a really good one printed overseas about them, but I have one called Jailhouse Rock The Bootleg Records of Elvis Presley 1970-1983 by Lee Cotten and Howard A. DeWitt. It's an older book, published in 1983, but I think it is an interesting book for anyone interested in Elvis bootlegs. The publisher for it is The Pierian Press, there address said they were in Minnesota. Is this a book you have ever came across?

    • @collectingtheking
      @collectingtheking  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have seen it at shows many years ago but never picked up a copy. I'll have to keep an eye out for it as I plan to do a bootleg show some time in the future. I do have Paul Lichter's book "The Boy Who Dared To Rock" which includes many pictures of the first bootlegs and it's come in handy at times. Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas!

      @collectingtheking I think it's a book you would find interesting, I got mine off of eBay for only $20. The Paul Lichter book you mentioned is handy, I agree. Thanks for all you do here, I hope you and the missus Have a VERY Merry Christmas ⚡️TBC⚡️

    First great videos fantastic... just wondering if you got any information with the embosssed demos gold on the back of albums. I have over 50 of these and would like some information regarding fakes ect

    • @collectingtheking
      @collectingtheking  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Lee. We are planning a whole show on radio and RCA promos in general that will cover that. I know there ARE some fakes out there, but once you've seen the authentic ones, the fakes are pretty obvious.
      Thanks for watching.

    Another great show. Does LPM 1382 also have a small card record store giveaway with a horizontal photo? Also, there’s an 8x10 photo with the same pic as I’m Leavin ‘ PS. What did that go with?

    • @collectingtheking
      @collectingtheking  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for watching the show. Are you referring to the B&W horizontal postcard with Elvis, Scotty and Bill performing on stage? If so, that WAS a giveaway but not for/with a specific RCA release. The 8X10 photo you're referring to was a concert souvenir photo sold mainly in Las Vegas and when Elvis was on tour in the early 70's.

      @collectingtheking  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Robert. Back in the 50's and 60's, record stores and department stores (like Korvettes & Community Discount Stores) would staple their price tags to the record covers as a security message to prevent the swapping of price tags by customers. Sounds like they were removed form the ones you have.
