Good stuff Greg! I find the Tegel Nashville Style better thanks to its spiciness. You should give it a shot - I think it definitely rivals KFC's Hot and Spicy.
I’ve had a few bags of these over a few months. I prefer the Nashville version with a bit of chilli spice. At half price $7 special, they are great. For $14 it is a bit marginal.
@@brokenedges763 hi the southern fried chicken is on a tray and wrapped and ready to put in oven . But I believe we have bags of chicken tenders and nuggets . All taste great 👍

I’ve tried it GregO and I found it very fatty and salty . But it’s alright if ya craving some crispy coated chicken cause it keeps in the freezer! Yeeeehawww 🤠
What would the results be if it were just 1 piece in the air frier? Maybe multiple pieces create a fluid dynamics situation where the air flow is blocked, therefore not cooking evenly.
These taste so good in the air fryer. I almost wasn't gonna have any as when I did my woolworth's online order they only had 7 left... and I scored them :D. $7 a bag is worth the price.
Hey GregO, will have to look for the brand here in Woolies, NSW. Viewing a lot of your back-log videos- especially the Fish and Chip reviews, liking your 'like' of Chicken Salt - maybe you should have an emergency pack of your own chicken salt in your ute. Or better still how about a chicken salt tasting review - I know there are a number of different brands of chicken salt in the different supermarkets. Keep up the good work.
I've had these in both the Louisiana and Nashville Hot versions As Frozen chicken goes they're all right but nothing to rave about..I preferred the Nashville Hot as the Louisiana was a bit bland..The only positive I had was at least the chicken pieces were Nice and Big ( that's what she said..beat you all to it lol) Other than that I'd rate them somewhere between a Five to a Sux (for our Kiwi Cousins 😀)
I didn't like the chicken portions at all. Hidden under all that coating was skinny old boiler chicken. This Tegal stuff is made in New Zealand, but from foreign products. The chicken, is quite likely from China.
@@mikeZL3XD7029 Well if the chickens are from Rakaia, then they're the skinniest meatless thing in New Zealand. It would take 3 bags to feed two hungry Maoris.
The patchy colour is from when you turned the chicken over - the moist parts where the chicken was in contact with the fryer will look like that after dry heat

Hey grego, could you try the tegel takeout burgers and see what you think. Also there's a Coles product called SFC style chicken that would be great for you to review if you get the chance 😀
The chicken burger version of this is even better than the portions. I have it quite regularly and the other day my 10yr old daughter said ‘this is better than Kentucky Dad’
This right here.. ⬆ You're on a winner if you get the burger ones. I picked up three bags while the half price special was on. Zinger at home. Or even a Zinger beater.
Greggo you've got to try Deep South Chicken in Upper Coomera/Oxenford. A true authentic southern chicken with the most juicy, soft chicken inside a crispy, crunchy coating. It leaves KFC and whatever this is, in the mud.
As something you can take out of the freezer quickly these are ideal although I buy the burgers not the pieces and I wait to Woolworths reduce to $7 every second week. Brilliant burgers .
To be fair the top four ingredients to KFC are Salt, MSG, black pepper and white pepper. Put tons in your flour mixture, brine your chicken pieces before breading and fry your own will make for better chicken.
The Nashville one is good.. A bit like hot and spicy. I've bought these heaps and only had the issue with the black/brown stuff the last time I got them. The chicken seemed to be lower quality than the previous batches
Nashville taste way better compared to Louisiana & the breast one IMO. Not too salty unlike Louisiana & it's tingly spiciness is quite nice Definetely Reccomend the Nashville one
Can attest that these are absolutely yummy. They're like Australian KFC, but better, because the chicken is from NZ. You should try the hot version! The most important thing is Rollo (sp?) liked it. Gorgeous boy.
Can tell something won't taste like KFC just by the fact MSG isn't high in the ingredient list, and in this case not there at all. Granted yeast extract has some umami flavour but it's different than good o'l straight msg. If you check ingredient lists for kfc you will notice the primary ingredient in the herbs and spices is MSG.
To complete the KFC experience, cook some fries, sprinkle water on them and leave them outside until they're cold and soggy.
I can’t be the only one that loves soggy salty thick chips

The burgers are the best, pepper Mayo (lots of white pepper) and you’ve got a twister wrap
