I said it on a previous video - Greg should never have been killed off. He was in the middle of the show’s best storyline at the time and was a hugely popular character with the viewers. He could have gone a long way.
I'm not hugely familiar with Brookside from here on, but am I right in saying the building for the Millennium Club just remained abandoned hereafter? It's fairly obvious that they were filming the interior scenes at another location, so I'm wondering why the production built that frontage on the parade for ultimately nothing. My guess, and it's only a pure guess, is that they were forced to build a substantially high sound screen between the parade and the real life residence's just beyond it, and worked the idea of it being built as the Millennium Club into the show to explain its appearance on-screen. Of course, it presented a golden opportunity for an explosion, which late 90's Brookside were never going to pass on. And it also served to explain its closure. Quietly drop the whole thing, done.
Was it filmed at another location ? I did actually believe it was all in that building the millennium club was in it same as bar brookie and all the shops etc … what was the sound stage for? And hahaha brookside loves an explosion lol 😂 I believe the building facade in question is still there as part of the hollyoaks set with the coffee shop in front of it and the hospital entrance is where bar brookie was
Although I know nothing about Hollyoaks, I have seen some videos where people have either flown a drone over the set or sneaked onto it and recorded some footage. I see that it's pretty much the only thing left which is still relatively unaltered and recognizable from Brookside. It's a real building, not just a frontage, but the Millennium Club interior scenes were all filmed at an existing leisure centre somewhere. It was the only part of the entire Brookside set to not be the actual location where the scenes were recorded. Which was why it didn't feature for very long, they just quietly dropped it after a while and it only served as a backdrop. No idea what the building actually was, and now is. I'm not sure if it even belonged to the production company when it was built. Might be wrong, but I think that area beyond the parade was still in use as a college at the time.
@@Steve.s0 Hollyoaks and Brookside were both created by Phil Redmond! He also created the iconic GrangeHill. Brookie(1982) and Hollyoaks (1995) set was next to each other on the same lot. Brookie ended in 2003, and Hollyoaks is still going, haven't watched it in years but it started when I was 15(I'm 44 now!) I watched the first episode at the time. 😊
I didn’t enjoy the Millennium Club bomb much. Brookie was better when it did lighter stuff with the likes of Julia and Mr Moore. Brookie disasters just descended into weeks of screeching at each other on the parade!

Funny how Katrina, says “Nicky have you seen Vincent?” (Jasons name in real life) When Nicky and Lindsey drag Susanna out of the club. Lol
