That is a beautiful room! I really like the white furniture with the blue. It's very cool. I wanted to input that you should have a shelf or something right next to the top bunk so if there were a kid in the top bunk they would put their phone or book next to their bed. Absolutely beautiful!
Maybe there is a basket or something that could be attached to the railing of the top bunk? That way nothing would be left high up on the wall in case the top bunk is removed
Another thing that might be nice to have in the room is a digital clock. I always miss having a clock when I'm at a hotel or something. So then I don't always have to check my phone and I can monitor myself during homework

Out of curiosity, I’m sure this depends on age and sex, but is there a restriction on siblings of opposite sexes sharing a room? So, for example, even though you have 2 rooms with space for 3 (at minimum) if you had a child already and got asked to take another one with siblings would it depend on the age and sex if you could take the siblings vs being full? Love the space! You are awesome, I hope you know that! Keep making videos and educating about foster care, it’s definitely needed and I love watching your videos. 💖
I'm sure it varies by state, but in Illinois, opposite gender siblings can be in the same room if they are 6 and under. After that they can only share rooms with the same gender
Great question, you are 100% right. If we already have a child and then were looking at a sibling set of 2, they would have to be same gender or within the age range. Though, at this point I think we would only take in 2 kids total.
The room looks great! You put so much thought into it and any kiddo that gets that room will be able to see that. They also have top bunk shelves with a USB port on them so that the kiddo on the top bunk can have somewhere to sit their book/phone etc.

Like time limits or whatever like that? I know a lot of homes do and for good reasons too! I’m just wondering since my foster sister had to leave our house because of how attached she was to her phone! It was a big trigger for her. We thought she was warming up to us after a few months but after she left, we found out she wasn’t acting like her real self around us. At her other foster homes she definitely did not have as much freedom as she did at our house and I guess that lead her to abusing that freedom. She never got off her phone and I guess that’s was the problem. Have you guys ever dealt with something like this?

The littles are their bio kids. They've had two placements thus far. I believe they were both teen girls. Miss A has been with them a little over a year and is working towards reunification with her family. I think they said their age range is 7 or 8 and up.

in my opinion I feel like the double bed should go in Miss A's room when she leaves and her single bed / trundle should go in that room just because it seems smaller and there's not a big closet (Just a suggestion)

I want to write a book about my recovery from suicide loss and the trauma related to it, and so that is the name of my book, future vlog (already have some videos made), and my current website/blog. The fact that someone out there actually likes it makes me feel even more motivated in this path of life. I sincerely appreciate you!
What do you have in place regarding tv in their room in terms of them staying up late watching tv or potentially watching inappropriate things on a Smart TV? (At this point, they can access all the same things on their phones...sigh)
I think it would depend on the kid, you can view watch history so we wouldn't be worried about that. As for staying up late... it would just be apart of the house rules and if they broke them we would set consequences.

And on October 14th I turned 21 so we went to thre casino to eat and gamble and then the next day we went to the zoo so we were exhausted at the zoo lol so do your kids have a favorite animal and does miss A have a favorite animal

Not yet, but reunification is still the goal and we hope she gets to go home soon!
