That was a BIG one ! Hard to find them like that around here…..most have been cut down or storm dropped. Or killed by the Wooly Adelgid. Nice drop Mike 🪵👍👏🚜😎🇺🇸 Rick
Isn't it amazing, Mike, how much rot you can sometimes find in those big old beasts? I remember taking down a massive silver maple years ago, and once it fell, I think it had at most an inch and a half of wood remaining on the perimeter. Scared the living daylights out of me when I saw how wrong it could have went with the felling! Great job! 👍
Hi Mike!!😀😀 Too bad it was damaged and had to come down. That was one heck of a big hemlock. Too bad it was hollow so far up. I suppose it could be used for campfire wood. Take care my friend!!😀😀👍👍 Logger Al
Nice drop! Too bad wasn't solid all the way up...but at least there will be something to take to the mill. Could probably still get something outta the hollow sections like ya said...or bundle wood....lol
Nice job on felling that Hugh tree . To bad it was hollow . Good video !!

Them top logs will make some nice lumber, hopefully there isn't too much shake
The top was rotten and the bottom was hollow! I got one decent log from the middle.
Biggest tree that saw may ever cut down. But you seem like a guy that might try a larger one! Nice job on the video by the way too
If I find a bigger one I'll definitely give it a try!! Thanks Stan
👋
Hey Eddy.👋
Nice, its down and out of the way and always good to have some 2x4’s around.
Definitely can't have too many 2x4s

Thanks Rick. We have a few big ones like that on the property but I think they are probably going to be hollow also.

I could split some of it for bundles but man they are large and not much fun to deal with 🤣
I have a cousin that owns some land up by you in Autrain. He has some decent sized hemlock also.
The really big ones tend to be hollow.
@@Lifeinthe906 that also reminds me of an older beech or birch.
Nice drop! Too bad wasn't solid all the way up...but at least there will be something to take to the mill. Could probably still get something outta the hollow sections like ya said...or bundle wood....lol
