I'm 6'2" and 230lbs. I love my Ascend 12T but I'll never stand in it. I think for the price of the 133x I'd rather just stick to a river Jon thats 5' wide lol.
@@dhellwig WOW...maybe I had a defective boat, but my 12T experience was a disaster. I am just shy of 250 and with no gear I literally had the boat fill up with the scupper plugs out, and with them in it so insanely low in the water and was crazy unstable.
I had a boat like that simple upgrade makes it unflappable like I stood on the side jumped up and down couldn't get the opposite side to come out the water makes it way heavy tho taking off takes more torque to take off and takes farther to stop at a drift but preformed fine for a hillbilly fix small design change I could make that one of the best boats on the market take all that wobble out be like standing on dry land
Thanks! I’m trying to get through this build!! I wanna get back on the water for the action!!! Every time I get into another section of the project I realize I need to strengthen the next weak leak in the chain. Getting there tho!! I just want everything to be reliable.
@@thejuanderdude7911 once I move into a house with a garage in the summer I’m going to def be putting in some serious work like this. Going to be uploading the first part of my build sometime soon! This vessel is a champ on the water 🤙🏾🎣
Great Kayak. Not sure I would have put an outboard and a trolling motor on it. I think that is asking a lot out of it for sure. But what the hell if it works for ya then do it! I was surprised how stable it was even with all the weight.
Thinking about buying the exact kayak and mounting a Suzuki 6hp just wanna know where did u get the mount for the gas outboard. And also I would put outriggers if I was you. I’m planning on using it on the bay saltwater fishing in south Texas I wonder how it will handle with swells
For carrying a long distance maybe a military belt and hook it to that?!!! Then your using all legs, which you use the whole time anyway. Just a thought.
Awesome video and AWESOME KAYAK build. I’m really thinking about getting one of these kayaks. I’m a Big Guy, 6’3” & 350lbs. Do you think it would be an ok Kayak for a guy my size. I won’t be putting an outboard, but I will put a Bow mount Trolling motor and battery. If you don’t think this would be a good Kayak for a guy my size can You recommend one. TIA for your time and help.
Honestly I think the 133x is a great option for bigger riders. Im 6’2 200lbs and it does amazing. Just when choosing a platform take note of what the capacity it can hold because that number gets deducted with rider weight. So the 133x capacity is 550lbs deducting 200 for myself that’s 350 left for gear and accessories. I was actually thinking of adding a grab bar as well just to increase stability standing up. But that’s later down the road. But yea for you I’d go with larger platforms with higher weight capacity. The 133x is hard to beat for the price too with other competitors.
@@outdoorswithroostercurrie6984 not sure. I know Hobie makes one but I don’t know if it’s universal. I might have to fabricate one or make theirs work for the 133x.
My group-24 battery that I had before fit with 1” to spare on the port and starboard sides but I’m sure if you get a battery box to put it in it the space it will fill the gap. Depending what box you get.
Is the Trolling motor and fish finder on the same battery or seperate? I just got this kayak as a package from BPS and im trying to figure out how to wire it
@@thevoiceofthesilent I would for just trolling, deep cycles last but not as efficient as lithium. Pick up a 10ah lithium battery for your fish finder. Will last few fishing trips without charge. I’ve seen other people’s fish finders last 8+ hours on a 10ah lithium battery on max brightness etc. just depends on how advanced and how big the screen and brightness is set to.
Not that I’ve noticed, I’m taking extra steps and actually sealing everything with 3m 5200. Any screws I add or new holes I make I surround with 5200. I got some ideas I wanna try out to make the hatches seal better so stay tuned for that 😉
I did cut it down, sadly I did it before I decided to start recording everything, but I can do a quick overview. It’s not difficult the more tedious step is cutting the shaft not cutting into wire and re drilling the hole for the Tm head.
while he was driving i shifted into him and manifested nd installed this
I love these stability tests with a skinny dude. Have a 300lb man dance around in that thing and then we can REALLY see if it is stable.

Nice! I got the same kayak that's crazy I want to see it in action!
just bought one a week ago and when i stand in the front of mine I fill it with water very dissapointing
Get ahold of Nick from Navarre Kayak fishing for some risers for that cart. They work really well

Oh yes! It’s a beast! Heading out tomorrow for some 🎣 .
I got a 128X now I wish I would’ve got the 133X easier to mount trolling motor upfront

No I have three 10 Ah Dakota lithium batteries powering fish finder, and a 54 Ah powering just trolling motor

Why did you have to walk around the block to get into your pool, or did you use someone else's pool? Lol
