Can I tell you all what a blessing this podcast is especially this episode. My husband and I have been married for 30 years and can I tell you, we needed this 30 years ago. There was no "this is what you do and what you dont do, this is how you communicate." If we knew this 30 years ago we would have not spend the first 5 years of our marriage fighting. The absolute truth. I listen to your podcast so that I we can help other young couples. We are also involved heavily in ministry and have been for 30 years. Small background. My husband was raised in church and is a 4th generation preacher. I was no raised in church with the exception of my grandmother taking us to Sunday school occasionally and vacation bible school. I absolutely fell in love with Jesus in vacation bible school as a little girl and longed for all things Jesus. We all know, life goes on I become a teenager and my parents divorce. That small experience with Jesus as a child continued that longing. I didnt want to sin but I didnt know how to stop. Fast forward I got saved at 19 years old left home to get away from my party crowd and started attending a small bible college in Tenn. Prior to bible college I was dating a guy named Anthony, he wanted to marry me but marriage was a bad word after experiencing what I experienced
with my parents divorce. I did pray and ask the Lord to guide me Anthony was a wonderful man I know would have treated me like a queen. The Lord spoke very clear to my heart "you are going to marry Anthony but not this Anthony!" 2 years later I met my Anthony at this small in the middle of no where bible college. He was there because 2 years prior he lost his fiance in a car accident on their way to pick up their wedding announcements. Someone hit them and she passed instantly. She was a Pastors daughter grew up in the church and always told Anthony she would not marry him if he was going to preach. Jesus had other plans. As sad as both of our situations were The Lord got the glory. Many more little nuggets prior to marriage but the most important thing, I had no idea how to pray, study my bible, or be a wife! I didnt have healthy marriage memories I never heard my mom pray, we actually had parties at our house every weekend. Here was 2 hearts who loved each other more than anything but completely opposite in everything except our love and desire to serve Jesus with every ounce of strength we had. That has kept us for 30 years. Everything else we learned along the way and it so hard. Im not saying it would have been easy BUT much easier and less fighting had we known then what we know now. Even listening to you all talk I thought "gracious we still need this after 30 years!" I am so sorry for typing so much but my heart is just over whelemed with joy to see young couples taking this head on, being transparent and helpful for all those thinking about getting married, married, or older married folks like us. I encourage you all to please continue this podcast together and call it Marriage Jesus Way or something like that! We need it the world needs it. Thank you all Our prayers are with you as you continue the most beautiful thing Jesus ever created. Anthony and Stacey Clark

I just want prayer for my future spouse 🙏 I'm not dating anyone but I'm waiting for God this time. I'm 25 almost 26 and still single not desperate but I've always dreamed since a kid to be married & have kids because I was raised by a single mom and didn't have the perfect example as a kid and I know that God has someone out there for me and I've been waiting and I don't have an issue but I know God has everything in his hands❤❤❤❤

Just wanted yo share something that blew my mind regarding submission…
Ephesians 5:21 first starts with “submit yourselves to one another…” and the word submission comes from the Greek word sub misio meaning submitting to a calling/mission…or “under the same mission….”
Woman and man are differently wired and we have our different missions as women and men in Christ, but also our personal missions/callings in life….
And we are both called to submit to each other’s callings I.e letting each other be what Christ called us to be!

I love that! ❤❤Praising ur spouse in public and constructive criticizing in private. Also that our marriage mirrors Gods relationship with the church obviously God is so good and gracious to the church and it tough to be like God in relationships but is goals:)

This was so good! Thank you for shining light and just being real with marriage, conflict, and all that comes with it. My husband and I have realized that body language and tone go a long way. We won't ever be perfect, but we strive to reflect the Lord in our marriage and to those around us. Thankful for podcasts like this who inspire and motivate marriages to grow in Christ!

Literally such a blessing ❤ I’ve been married for almost 7 months and overall it’s been amazing and so much fun but I’m still really trying to change how I communicate bc I’ve learned that I’m more immature than I thought and it’s been hard to break some habits and the way I respond bc it’s like I want more attention and to feel validated always but I’ve been doing it in an unhealthy way to hearing this podcasts are literally so so helpful of seeing how to grow and change to love my husband like God calls me to. Thanks you guys 🙏🙏

Maddie and her husband: You need to be more respectful to your guests. In the span of the first 15 minutes you both kept poking fun at Jeanine and Caleb. The fact that he “bailed” on ya’ll, the color of his shoes, the fact that Caleb was ready to settle at 23 and then Maddie joked that Jeanine wasn’t ready at 28.
There’s a huge difference when people laugh WITH you and when they laugh AT you.
    Please be more respectful.
