Even though I am not remotely close to being able to use all of these tips to their fullest potential I really love those videos and I can see how much effort and honesty you put into them. It is very obvious that you really care and that is just amazing to see. Thanks for your videos. I hardly ever watch such long videos on YT but yours are an exception.
Me too!!!! This was the main reason i started watching your channel - i couldn't translate my lane leads into post-laning phase cuz of my bad macro (this vid has also taught me so much more in utilising my lead during laning phase) ~ Thanks so much coach!
Coach! I've been watching your content a while now not soon after you've started. I've seen your discontent and frustration in your content. espcially in your last video. You really care about the community and your content is so new and so extensive. Nobody does it like you and I hope you create a new norm. In my perspective, I learned a lot about this game and how to handle my laning from your content. I learned the basics of macro from it as well but really i learned shit like trading, wave management. I feel like all that has improved on many many levels and have such a better understanding of the fundamentals. You've also taught me A LOT about champion identity, win conditions/ identifying win cons. I'm really interested in digesting this video to really help me translate the leads i've acquired from the strong laning. I think a lot of this stuff is some of the things i've been struggling with . Like gold recalls. timing my resets with objectives and tempo tracking. (recently started to understand tempo on my opponents and it's helping me play against assasin match ups. Often times in low elo I can kill my laner but not recalling instantly giving them tempo and they can get a kill). I find that just like you say in your video (my metaphor is it's all dance) and I feel like even tho i'm much more intential laning phases I feel like because i'm not doing it all properly I haven't received as much results in my games to really carry. I think if you're wondering why people are n't climbing from your content I find that to be my biggest weakness. I think this video ill be good for me to really put the pieces together and really be able to push and stomp games. Thank you!
I really appreciate you sharing this with me brother, it means a lot. I'm hoping this really does tie together a lot of my videos and maybe be that last piece of the puzzle like you mentioned :)
13. is literally me testerday throwing my 2/0 lead in the mid lane as Qiyana vs Sylas. I was prepping a guy to all in, just waiting a couple seconds for my ignite to come back. I tunnel visioned too much, forgot that he’s premade with support, didn’t even notice him going through a ward in the river and got ganked, died and threw my lead. And I was so angry about it, about myself and about my premade support that didn’t say anything about MIA enemy. I tilt easily after having a perfect early game and throwing it away, still working on it. Thanks for helping me understand my mistakes, getting better everyday, Curtis. Recently I discovered you and after eating a lot of information from your channel I recently won lane in 9 out of 10 matches (won 7 games) with a champion I never played in mid lane. I used to play Qiyana jungle when she was at her best. Thanks again Curtis, looking forward to get that sweet diamond next year 🙌🏼
I came to League from a different moba. Been playing about a month now. The mechanics of champions is really simple for me to pick up, however all the stuff like this is what is really important to me. I cant not thank you enough for this quality content of yours I keep enjoying. You have been a huge help and I can see the progress already from the things you teach!
Havent even watched it yet (I'm excited), but I just wanna mention how Its amazing how proguides and all those other famous educational league channels always make "top 15 tips for x!" in 10 minutes, or max a 20 minutes video Yet here you are with 15 tips in MORE THAN AN HOUR. Its always just so much better, and I get it, most people are lazy to sit for an hour for 15 tips about being fed, so thats why the other lazy channels have more subs, but you really do deserve more. (I feel somewhat special and glad that I have you as a secret weapon while most people dont-) but still. Love your great work man it proves how you cant learn the game in some 10 min videos. Your guides are the best Edit: I loved it. I especially loved all the examples. Amazing content
Yoo Curtis. Just wanted to say that your passion for the strategic and tactical aspects of leauge really shows and makes your vids great. It's awesome to see someone who still, after all these yrs of playing leauge, can discuss concepts and strategy with enthusiasm =)
Woah, after 1600 games and 500 tutorials from different coaches, I finally reached Diamond 4. THANK YOU Coach Curtis, and I can finally say about myself, when I'm looking at video about translating leads "Hey I know how to do that!" Great thanks to you for the mid fundamentals content (mainly because of my duo, who is mid main and I constantly review your videos with him) . There is so much content in YT for LoL, some will teach you how to abuse solo q mistakes, some will teach you about what is most optimal gameplay, even though it's rarely the case in solo q. And then there is you my man! Your videos are so descriptive and detailed that you can actually name them Fundamental LoL Methodology. Glad people with your patience and passion exist!
Damn what a video, after a video i ran down through this list and said yes or no to things i do or don't do. It made me ralize that half of these points i don't even follow or take into concideration. I finally start to understand why i can't get above plat 1. It will take a while to learn evrything from this, but i feel like it will make me much better player. Thanks coach.
You know that Curtis is super legit when every "top 10/15 tips to instantly become challenger" video is max 10 minutes long while Curtis' "top 15 tips to do X" videos, which are also only about a single part of league's macro, are all longer than an hour.

Hi Curtis! I've just recently stumbled upon your channel and I've been binge-watching your content for the last week or so, I'm loving it :) congrats for the amazing content!
Thank you Coach! I just want to say that the way you lay out your points make it very easy to relay it into the other roles as well. To say you're teaching basics and fundamentals would be a disservice honestly. While this is foundational knowledge, the lessons involved in your videos can be extracted to more advanced skills as well. I've personally learned so much.
i am studying school as well as studying league so basically you are one of my "online class professors" at the moment and im nearly reaching diamond because of this thank you prof/Coach Curtis!!
This is great. One of my flaws is throwing my lead. I’ve become a pretty good duelist and can get ahead of my laner most games but I crash hard too much in the mid/late game. I try to vod review what went wrong but there’s a lot to look at. It’s not like I can go “missed my Q” “didn’t respect the ignite” like I do with dueling. But this list is a great starting point and tool for review. I’m definitely gonna go through this in depth and write a list so I can check my games and find my most common mistakes and iron them out one-by-one by frequency. I can already remember a few times where I’ve made these mistakes. Compensating especially. Naturally wanting to be helpful, I’ve improved a bit by keeping in my head as a bad situation plays out “Don’t go over. Don’t go over. It won’t change anything. Too risky. Don’t do it. You’ll just make it worse.” and not giving up a lead and it always works out because whatever they gained by me not being there is often taken away later at the *right* time this time.
You give better detailed info and even with easy to follow bullet points with replays and examples better as well as easier to understand than most of the courses from pay courses like proguides Also i love that you have yours split into nice sections so you can replay chapters that you want to focus on making it easier to work on each chapter one at a time in my own games!
I reached Plat 4 today with a 55% winrate. Even tho i mainly played Pantheon support and not midlane, I dedicate it to you since your videos make me change my view on the game. I already said it but you made me use my BRAIN while playing :D
Whenever I see an hour-long Coach Curtis video, I know it’s gonna be a great day! Thanks for putting out the best educational League content on TH-cam! Also, what do you think of Swain mid? And will the Akali nerds this match make her much less viable because of her waveclear?
My pleasure David :) I think Swain is more of a top pick at the moment due to Swains lack of range and lack of reliable damage. I also think that the Akali nerfs aren't too bad honestly, It will effect the breakpoint in which you can 1 shot the ranged creeps, but not significantly
ive learned more from you in the past 2 weeks than i learned in the past 6 years of playing this game i climbed from gold 1 to diamond 4 within those 2 weeks is there any other contentcreater anyone can recommend to watch i would love to see even more videos which are as in depth as curtis vids are
Super helpful, thanks so much! Really appreciate the focus on example mistakes - these are easy to identify with and helps to visualize my own misplays in recent games and what to do differently. Subbed and looking forward to watching a bunch more! Hope you are doing well in COVID times and thanks again,
DDaamnn - I've been busy over summer and not played a lot of league lately, but I load up TH-cam and the legendary Curtis is waiting for me anyways! I might have to get back to some solo Queue 🤔
Thank you so much. You make me realise stuff that i have never tought about. You help me a lot with understanding the game BUT also you have changed my mentality. Now I never get that mad about stupid trows, wich helps me focus in game but also just helps ne have more fun.
I'm going to go ahead an say this is probably what I needed before I watching this. In low elo while climbing, every so often I go 6/0 in lane as like Annie or Akali, but the jungler doesn't play around my roams, or I myself can't make a dent in the lead they got.
thanks for this video who may help me getting out of silver (this one and your others of course). Just to say about warding idk if it is on purpose but the blue buff agressive ward doesn't see the gromp, so i prefer using it a little be more to the right. Anyways great video and you are doing great content please continue ^^
I appreciate that you shared with us the "small wins mentality" but honestly I don't think that I can implement that into my games yet. This really feels like a very advanced thing to do. As example, when you showed the Orianna vs Akali clip, I knew that I would've all in on that Akali even if I knew the small wins mentality. To use this mindset you need to have a good understanding of the game, for me I would've thought that I just wasted my ult without killing Akali. Sure I would've had tempo over her but she'll get level 6 of the wave and I'm gonna be vulnerable for the next minute of the lane. You are right with what you said but I wouldn't be able to see that as a gold player. So yes this is a very good tip but it's an advanced one that needs high game understanding.
Just finished my promos for Silver 1! All thanks to watching your coaching videos! Looking forward to being a Gold player so I can ask you for coaching!
I literally thought Coach Curtis was making a pun about cake when he said "over time you will get very very good at the EGGxecution of each step" at 1:09 XD
I love this video. Your awesome. Could you please go into more detail with the small wins mentality practice? Thank you so much for every video you have done. I am very grateful for them.
Mines takes on this video: - unfortunately as im lowelo and better jungle than anyone else on my elo, i long decided that when i get a call on a gank i will pass. This because when they make the call to gank my line and i setup for a gank, they never showed or fail to do it the right time (with consecuences like die-ing a lot , being put on a position where i have to take damage like a tank to luckily give away my "to-be" kill to my jungle instead or directly to find out that the gank didnt work ""all summoners and objetives alives and up"). -when i want to be proactive on a game i have to writte, ping and flamme my teammates in order to take them out of the tunnel vision of themselves, also tell them what to do, what to buy or how to play a champ, so this is absolutely stressing, to the point that i have to play assasins to have good kda and tell them off (follow me cause im feed, follow only my pings). -When on a game, best check the team composition from the begining so you plan your play from ahead, if they need an assasin, a tank or an APdamage. (Zed, Galio, Oriana). Call them out and report them if they pick troll (not suitable picks, rare picks/exotics or simply if you have a comp of early game champs and one of your teammates choose a late game champ). I usually play for the early game, but if the team plays for late game i change my runes acordingly. Happens to me that Kayle's top always 40min without impact and the game is already decided sooner, so IF i see on my team i report troll pick. -Pushing limits = Trolling. Period. IF you are a lowelo player, play safe all the time till you have a better understanding on what to do and what not to. Happens always that they believe they have tryndamere R as a pasive and play Yasuo's mid/top/jungle/adc (sup if with yone) dies and blames the team because lack of awareness on map (me ping, but you ward and look at the map too). - Use of mute for ppl that are toxic/flammers or just plain noobs that blames team for their lack of... lets say everything. A one hour video that took me 2 hours to study and still have to put onto actions. Good day sir.
You could also say the lull state is the actual cook time, you can throw ingredients together in a bowl but it won't start flashing and evolve into a cake, it requires heat and time (execution and thought).
im imagining coach curtis running his hands through my hair as i lay my head in his lap, staring up into his beautiful truthful eyes. the passion between us is suffocating the universe as if we are the only beings in existence, ahhhNnnhnnnhhh
Hey Coach, I updated my champion pool a bit. I really enjoy playing Vel'Koz and Fizz atm, 2 very differing champions, would be interesting if you could do a video on how you would goa bout playing any of those two :)
@@CoachCurtis The Small Wins was super cool too. I think like watching Dopa a lot, and some of Mid Beasts analysis of certain mids and matchups, I started to see like these good trades that the players would get, but they wouldn't tunnel and overcommit for the big win (kill) or potential throwing that small win with a big loss due to overcommitment, instead they used the chunk to get tempo, which translated into all sorts of things (vision, roam, ability to support jgl). I could never really understand what I was seeing, but your small wins section really put it into perspective for me in a way that my brain could sort of quantify it, if that makes sense lol. Edit: Sort of like aiming for the consistent lay-up over attempting to nail 3-pointers all the time (basketball reference).
Hi from france ! i'm a big fan of your work, I love your videos who are very helpful ! mayby can you make a video "wich point to focus for each elo?" Thanks again for all sir
At min 36 would it always be worth it to still push the Canon wave singe the only problem that you would get by not doing so is tf freezing? Because then he wouldn't be cable to road and make use of that tempo advantage or am I completely wrong^^
Coach one of my fabsolute favorite champs is Ahri, but she just feels so weak atm. I think I've got 1,3 mill mastery points on her. I know her in and out like my own pocket. But its just so hard to carry those games. Especially with the GLP build. What do you think about her in current patch?
Hi Curtis! Could you talk very briefly about the alternate role besides mid in ranked for mid laners? (Like choosing mid first and then jungle second?) What other roles are better for a mid laner to play as an alternate?
hey curtis do you reckon you could make an akali guide? she's been my ban for ages but ive decided to bite the bullet and try and learn her and your guides have been really useful
Thank you for your content coach, really appreciate it ! , quick question, I play diana , syndra and xerath mainly in mid lane , can u suggest an ad champion that is similar to the above group ? sadly zed, yas are not for me. Thanks ..
I mean one of the most fun AD mid laners is pyke, if you aren't into that kind of style though you could try nocturne or talon I guess. I strongly recommend you try out pyke mid for a couple of games though and see how it feels (I personally really enjoy it)
A bit off topic but just watched your champion pool video for mid, and was looking for some advice on my pool, I have been playing mid on and off for a few years since 2014 and my champion pool is azir, ori, Zoe, Diana, and yasuo is that a sturdy enough pool?
I don’t understand why this dude doesn’t have millions of subs, this is QUALITY content
15:55 "We have these three pink wards we've set up as a team"
not in my elo we don't
Never clicked on a link this fast
Hope it helped you out brother
Even though I am not remotely close to being able to use all of these tips to their fullest potential I really love those videos and I can see how much effort and honesty you put into them. It is very obvious that you really care and that is just amazing to see. Thanks for your videos. I hardly ever watch such long videos on YT but yours are an exception.
This is exactly what i needed, thanks coach!
Me too!!!! This was the main reason i started watching your channel - i couldn't translate my lane leads into post-laning phase cuz of my bad macro (this vid has also taught me so much more in utilising my lead during laning phase) ~ Thanks so much coach!
My pleasure man!

Just had a game where my team was 40 kills to 20. Enemy got ocean drake and managed to comeback. Perfect video for me!

oh baby! this is hype. from s4 to s2 in the psat 7 days while watching every replay, thanks to your videos coach, 20 wins out of 24 games.
Nice climb brother
I canceled my date to watch this
hahahaha
What xD?
She s not the one if she s mad @ u!

I started playing league again after some monts and immediatly went back to your videos! Still as good as always! Appreciate the content !!
As a mid-high diamond player, this is really useful stuff. Thanks, glad I found your channel man.
Wow. Just the video i was looking for! I consistently win lane, but carrying with that lead isn’t as consistent. Thanks for another quality video!!
Damn what a video, after a video i ran down through this list and said yes or no to things i do or don't do. I used your mid freeze guide. Surprised how I use it more effectively on bot lane as ADC.
bot and top are longer lanes which is why its easier to freeze there
Really useful video! Thanks again for all the hard work and effort you put into your videos, it really shows!
Always a pleasure watching coach put out quality content. Simply the best League content creator imo.
Really appreciate the effort to compile such a video, thank you very much.
Thanks for showing us some examples! It helps a lot to understand!! Much love!
Super helpful, thanks so much! Really appreciate the focus on example mistakes - these are easy to identify with and helps to visualize my own misplays in recent games and what to do differently. I'd love to get a video on the small wins mentality from you Coach!
exceptional video from an exceptional guy. thank you!

Congrats To your 67k Subs Coach!
I really appreciate your Efforts in Making your Videos Keep It up👏👆

Thank you for the content, Curtis =)
i almost always forget about vision mid game, so that could be a good video. HOW to use wards, in the early, mid, late game, when ahead or behind
You could also say the lull state is the actual cook time, you can throw ingredients together in a bowl but it won't start flashing and evolve into a cake, it requires heat and time (execution and thought).
That is right, love the creativity here haha
This is such an awesome Video!
Do you plan to do the same sort of video for top, bottom or Jungle?
I loved the cassio at end jdsjsd uwu, ty curtis from LAS
Hi Curtis, great video as always. Can you summarize your videos with a slide including all the steps for example so I can screenshot it?
To tip N°1 5) you are in gold and you just smash eveyone like me after learning lol with your content with orianna
im imagining coach curtis running his hands through my hair as i lay my head in his lap, staring up into his beautiful truthful eyes. the passion between us is suffocating the universe as if we are the only beings in existence, ahhhNnnhnnnhhh
Cant believe this is free content.
Stellar video 👊🏼
Yes plz , on the "small wins" video :)
Hey Coach, I updated my champion pool a bit. I really enjoy playing Vel'Koz and Fizz atm, 2 very differing champions, would be interesting if you could do a video on how you would goa bout playing any of those two :)
♥.♥v. Hi Coach, enjoyed class today! You're like one of those cool gym teachers that the kids actually like.
Hahha thats awesome!
Edit: Sort of like aiming for the consistent lay-up over attempting to nail 3-pointers all the time (basketball reference).
nice video as always, thx coach
Watching this b4 sleep so i actually dream about it.
oh hey that's my rank
Outstanding content

Hi from france ! i'm a big fan of your work, I love your videos who are very helpful ! mayby can you make a video "wich point to focus for each elo?" Thanks again for all sir
hey everyone and welcome to another video
Curtis im not sure if im correct but at 9:32 shouldn't you have based for a tempo recall after you shoved that wave?
ahoj my friend, thanks for helping me out this is golden, did u ever consider making lvl 1 invade video?
I will probably
this video is cracking the midlane code
curtis teaching us how to be alpha males through league guides
Are you SURE Wakkawoo is an Aussie name?
Also great vid man, helped me out a lot :DD
At min 36 would it always be worth it to still push the Canon wave singe the only problem that you would get by not doing so is tf freezing? Because then he wouldn't be cable to road and make use of that tempo advantage or am I completely wrong^^
curtis the god
I had to rewatch this lesson because I keep losing from way ahead as Fizz mid.
Fire content 🔥
Tnx for the content dude
Coach one of my fabsolute favorite champs is Ahri, but she just feels so weak atm. I think I've got 1,3 mill mastery points on her. I know her in and out like my own pocket. But its just so hard to carry those games. Especially with the GLP build. What do you think about her in current patch?
Got 'em coach
Can you do a guide "How to play Katarina season 10!"
Btw your videos are great, i really love you
Hi Curtis! Could you talk very briefly about the alternate role besides mid in ranked for mid laners? (Like choosing mid first and then jungle second?) What other roles are better for a mid laner to play as an alternate?
I will need to cover this topic
hey coach do you stream on twitch, would be awesome to see you streaming :)
Thanks Curtis! Any tips for when playing flex 5s? Is there anything you would focus on or adjust?
I'll need to do another video for this I think
god i love your videos
is it still best to recall before cannon waves in season 11?
hey curtis do you reckon you could make an akali guide? she's been my ban for ages but ive decided to bite the bullet and try and learn her and your guides have been really useful
On the list mate :)
Instructions unclear. Baked actual cake
hahahahaha
After this video i feel like on that galaxy brain memes.
Also i love your content it got me to gold
Thank you for your content coach, really appreciate it ! , quick question, I play diana , syndra and xerath mainly in mid lane , can u suggest an ad champion that is similar to the above group ? sadly zed, yas are not for me. Thanks ..
I mean one of the most fun AD mid laners is pyke, if you aren't into that kind of style though you could try nocturne or talon I guess. I strongly recommend you try out pyke mid for a couple of games though and see how it feels (I personally really enjoy it)
@@itztigertime8222 Thankz tiger for ur reply, yh i will try him out. havent played him mid yet, who knows maybe pyke will be my AD boi ..
Lucian mid or Irelia
@@CoachCurtis Thanks coach, appreciate your help.
Hey Coach, would you consider doing more pro player insight? Players such as Knight and Chovy would we great!
Yeah man for sure!
3:40 "... Maybe a little bit behind."
Curtis she has 2.9 CS/min.
A bit off topic but just watched your champion pool video for mid, and was looking for some advice on my pool, I have been playing mid on and off for a few years since 2014 and my champion pool is azir, ori, Zoe, Diana, and yasuo is that a sturdy enough pool?
too big man, should be 3 or 4 MAX, ideally 3 though.
I'd remove zoe if you are low elo, and maybe remove diana. All-in on Ori/Azir/Yasuo
Coach Curtis thank you I will all in on those three I appreciate the reply 🙃
