I loved watching every minute of this! I’m white, native Charlestonian, and I understood every single one from growing up on the barrier island. Thank you for giving me the biggest smile and sense of nostalgia I’ve had in ages. ❤

Born & raised in the lowcountry of S.C. and living in Iowa. It was great to see & hear sum stuff from down home in sandlapper country. Everything you said is just normal speech to me until someone says sumthin about what I've said. People are always sayin stuff and giving me a lot of reactions when I say ole (oil) or bole (boil), buggy (cart), days of the week like Mondee- Tuesdee (Monday- Tuesday)... Whenever I hear people tawkin like this, it's so relaxin to my soul. Thanks for the great video my brother. LORD GOD bless you & your family :-)

Haha my grandparents were from Macon GA and Chicago, and they all lost all the accent after moving, except for when they had to put "erl" or a "erl filder" in the car or it was time to "warsh" something up.
That and the response when you're asked a question that needs more explained or they couldn't hear anything that you said and just need it repeated louder:
"How you feeling today Grandpa?" "Do what?"
"Wow, it's really hot outside today.". "Do what?" Always made me smile because it was usually very strange response to what was said
I still have no idea if it's an "all-mend" or ah-mond" or" pee-can/peck-ahn"

Lol I'm from Savannah Georgia and we say
    "ova dey"
    " alright naw"
    "ain't it doe"
    "member"
    "bout to"
We say "A" when we trying to get someone attention
    "gue(s) what"
By the way I was born in Charleston in the early 70s due to to my father being stationed at the Air Force base. But he is from Savannah. Lived there the first 3 or 4 years of my life until he got out the AF. Have family in Beaufort, Jasper and Hampton counties SC (Hardeeville, Beaufort, Hilton Head Island, Estill, Garnett etc).
My wife's father was from Beaufort County (Robertsville?). I could barely understand his mother before she died about 5 years ago. She talked fast and had a strong gullah accent.
My maternal grandmother family was either Estill or Garnett and she sounded a little like them. She was raised in Savannah. In Savannah a lot of the black people have a geochemical or gullet accent. Especially the ones that live near the water.

Your comment reminds me of my granny! 😆 She had a serious Charleston Brogue (the accent white Charlestonians have) but with that Gullah flavor. pronunciations like Bear for Beer, Tawlet for Toilet, Bald for Boiled, Tarcoals for Tacos, Geetuh for Gator, say'ven for seven, eet for eight and Gyms Island for James Island.

Reason for majority of this is simply naturally rejecting being ‘civil’-ized or colonized and taught a language that was not meant for us to begin with. The language of the English or the engl-ish language is a bastard or heathen language. No matter what they did to us...we still retained some part of our natural speech and language.
All glory and honor to ABBA YAHUAH for ALL truth the natural inclination to reject the ways of the heathens.
