Plus it wasn’t out of nowhere, it was setup earlier he’s tried it before and he only really made the shot cause he immediately dropped any further reason to care and went “fuck it”. Only for it to actually work and backfire on Susan. Plus he still decided he peaked and quit.

I feel like it makes the books more interesting, you see greg doing something and you think he got away with it, then something else happens and all of a sudden he got caught. It helps the plot tremendously. A good implementation of this: Books 1-5 A bad implementation of this: Books 7 and 11.

Yeah I’ll say going back on this one, it’s definitely a step up from “Heffley trip gone wrong” and once again Greg finding himself in more grounded situations that feel serious enough to stay invested without going overboard for the sake of it. Could be better but I hope the next entries dial it back.
Meltdown was pretty good tbh. I also liked the wrecking ball and old school. The other 3 books (The Getaway, The Deep Down and The Double down) were pretty meh
@@SketchyStudio Rodrick Rules had one of my favorite gags in the books. Greg was at the Swim meet and he thought the starter pistol was a real gun so he hid at the bottom of the pool so the bullet wouldn't get him.
Manny is my second favourite character behind Rodrick. I actually don't know why, maybe it's because he gives Greg a bit of a taste of his own medicine, idk I'm not even sure why I like Manny.
i know basically everyone knows this but in doawk big shot at the end of page 42 it says chef marinara was in old italy making pasta and at the start of page 43 it shows a picture of the leaning tower of pisa which is in italy
