Candida looks so young here playing the guitar instead of keyboards. This was just before Nick Banks & Steve Mackay joined the band in late 1986. The classic line up was almost complete.
I was 13 when His N Hers came out which made me go out and buy this old album which I played every morning before 1st year of secondary...fucking hell what a weird album to do that to.
I found out about Pulp sort of late in the game. I got this box set, and sort of listened to the various early recordings, and this song always struck me as something Burt Bacharach might have written. I just love the song and video. It captures youth so well. Can you imagine it's been 20 years? Great video. Thankyou so much!
I had pretty much the same mend-bending introduction to music as well. After I heard Common People at 14 I went out and bought 'Masters of the Universe' and learnt all the words to songs like Manon, Tunnel and Blue Glow. The other kids must have thought I was mental playing that at parties instead of 2Unlimited...
My favourite song on Freaks. What a brilliant way to end the album.

Se escucha un poco como The Doors y la voz como Jim Morrison... Pero esta muy bien la cancion
I had no idea videos existed for their pre-Island stuff
She's his sister.
No this song is They Suffocate At Night from the 1986 album Freaks.
This is not a Pro Domestic Abuse video...it is an Anti-Furniture video. ;)
Where did you find this?
I just acquired it back in the day through trading Pulp rarities.
It seems strange to have this video not taken from "the beat is the law" DVD
Any chance of reuploading in HD now its 8 years on?
tyronerodgers I heavily suspect this video was not filmed in HD. Looks like it was filmed through a 2001 camera phone!
I no longer know where the video file is, unfortunately.
i have remastered in one of my channels but i will publish it in a later date
Have you find this song live? some old bootleg?
