The Avatars of Painful Death......... *Nathan Explosion voice* "That's pretty brutal". That said these Blue Star recipients sound like the real deal though it seems that they had a little bit of hubris when they went to go face the Clan force that was still fairly unknown at the time (I think). That said in a way it proves that technology can aid greatly in winning a fight even if you're fighting a veteran unit, but at least they defeated Jade Falcon in the end. That said you'd think the infantry unit would have concentrated more on anti-mech tactics or even attempted to learn, at least that's what it sounds like based on your description of them. On that note given Clan Wolf's exile happens later on you'd think they would have wanted to join Kerensky's old military units (BSI) and maybe teach them clan tactics and technology, unless I'm wrong in thinking that.
Well sadly for the blue stars they aren't around much longer. During the Jihad they get ambushed by Jade Falcon and during a retreat to a jump point they are virtually wiped out to a man. The survivors retire or disband shortly after. The real shame is those blue star medals becoming history as none of them survive as far as I know.
Seems like they have a lot of bad luck, despite surviving the worst of it during the invasion of Terra and all that. You would think that some would have been better off becoming some kind of military teachers at a military collage or something then maybe their ideals and memory might not have vanished. That's rough though, quite odd that warriors such as that get relegated to just getting beat up by the second biggest assholes of the Clans, wasted potential really.
I guess the writers just wanted to have a major merc company get wiped out and the poor blue stars get the shitty end of that stick. A real shame since I run a lance of battlemechs in Blue star colours and with their insignia in MWO.
They couldn't have served for "over three-hundred and fifty years" with the AFFS- Current date for Mercenaries Sourcebook was 3059 or 60? And they formed in 2788? The Clans were only out in the hinterlands for just over two-hundred and sixty years soo... Sorry to be that guy but I consider myself a Loremaster par Excellence WRT Battletech, and your insufficiently correct fact was like a splinter in my eye. :-)
But this from the book itself so back at you there buddy :D I don't know why people don't understand. I am not writing this up and then reading it. I am LITERALLY looking at the pages and reading it our verbatim. Any issues you have, bring it up with them not me. Book to check is Battletech field manual mercenaries page 40. Don't throw that at me, blame the writers. Your comment is like spit in my eye. =)
Katherine is such a character. Glad that these mercs didn't support her. These are fun to listen to.
In game, the Blue Star Irregular Dekkal makes for decent Cat's Eye stand in if you rotate them correctly.
You got to do one of these mercenary ones on the Crescent Hawks.
I will check my mercs books and see what one they are in.
Ok these guys have my respect .
freaking love this stuff. keep'em rolling
Thanks for Lore story friend !
Thank you for listening :)
More please
Working on it :)
YEA! LOOOOOAAAR!!!!
Didn't know about these guys. Nice video.Have you done the Wolf's Dragoons and Snord's Irregulars? I need to look over your lore list.
Dragoons are much further down the line in the book, but snord's will be before them.
How stupid of me. You are going alphabetically through the book. Of course, Wolf's Dragoons would be near the end.
Love it
