Grew up with dad making kindlin. I'm too lazy to live that life. But Dad worked hard to keep the fire burning. Great tools. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for the demonstration and the comparison. I split my fair share of firewood and kindling in my day so it was good to see someone elses tool belt. Thanks HCH.
Nice collection and demonstration. Got me wanting to go out and start splitting some wood. I've got the tools I need but was actually thinking of a knife I could use to do this with for survival practice.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video.
Cool demo! Estwing is an awesome brand. That froe is pretty neat, hadn't seen one before. Thanks for sharing HCH!✌️🤠🤘
Oh boy, I dont miss the fire wood but it was nice to not worry about heating the house when the power goes out. Great video HCH. Mush love friend🍄💚
I have a Fiskars maul and a long handle axe. I love a maul for the splitting of big logs. I cut kindling like you do. Think Estwing makes a good hatchet and Geo pick. When I had a woodstove, I would cut 6 cords every summer in the mountains. I sure miss having a woodstove. In my 30s up camping, I about cut my big toe off cutting campfire wood with a short handle axe. My stepson was upset he couldn't use the axe. After my accident, he didn't want to use it. The froe is neat. Never used one. I like your mini mauls.
Great demonstration. I haven't split wood this way sense I was 18 years old. I remember a long handled axe that seemed to be larger than me, lol I like these new smaller sizes they have now days :)
I will say, I've been chopping wood wrong this whole time. I have been taking full swings this whole time everytime, when I just needed to stuck it in the end and smack it on the ground, wow, this saved me so much effort and my back, considering I cut firewood oh most every day. I use a 6 lbs axe. Thanks for the pro tip HCH!!!!! I was using railroad ties in the beginning but thst took way too much effort and swings.
Nice sharing tools my friend...good sharing
Thank you kindly Good Day in Bali, and thank you for sharing in my sharing.
Good day brother & Mrs HCH… I would definitely use 1 of those lovely if I had a nice wood burning stove like yours❤
You have the coolest tools. Very nice comparison HCH. I loved cutting and splitting firewood. But I didn't need it for heat, just fire the beauty of a fire crackling in the fireplace. Great video.
Howdy there Paul Hampton and thank you, cool tools rule!
@@MrChubbyHubby. Cool Tools Rules Furr Sure Man! And HoHo's taste good too! lol
I grew up in a house where all we used was a wood furnace. We split wood all summer to make it thru the winter. Glad I don’t have to do that anymore.
That Fiskars looks dangerous the way it hops out! Thanks for showing me how best to chop kindling - I am a terrible aim so the set on and bounce method looks like my cup of tea. The Estwing would be my choice - and I dig the blue and yellow color scheme. As for the old time tool - it looked like it worked great, but I'd be worried I'd whack it just so, and that fro would tilt down and cut my toe!
Looking Sharp There.. and so are the hatchets LOL Hai HCH. Great video, sorry I was late to watch it.
LOL and howdy there Angie Prater (Tactility) I thank you for stopping by, and no worries about tardiness, I am a bit late of late myself, heck this comment is four months old! That's the nice thing about YT, these videos will be here when you have the time, no rush.
Are you a wood worker? or just splitting wood because you could make a round log slice and chip out the middle and there you have a place holder for your wood . I am your new subfuriend from @wyomingadventures love the tools and wood splitting you did!👍🏻😃❤️🦊
Hi there and thank you Fox the Cutest Dog, this was a demo for making kindling for a wood stove. Thank you for the sub, I subbed you back and I hope you and that cute Fox have been well.
Thanks for the review. Enjoy your weekend!
Thanks, you too!
My friends Dad could split big wood, with a double bladed axe. He had a lot of experience.
Hey there David Carlisle, that would not be my first choice but will get er done for sure! Thanks for stopping by.
That's exactly how I'd use big red.
This was awesome yeah boy
👋 hello HCH, very interesting I have not seen alot of these, lol
Congratulations 👏 friend nice video
Thank you so much 👍
Won't be long and it will be kindling time again, firewood collecting time is now. 🔥

Vibrations make me hurt to! Great video and info!
Howdy there Scorpion Metals, thanks for stopping by.

Imagine that…. There were no fingers smacked or pinched, not even any colorful words🤔🤔 must have been edited 🤣🤣 I enjoyed watching and learning but I definitely would’ve smashed my fingers. Great Video and say Hi to Mrs. HCH for me
Nope, all still firmly attached Cyclonic Silver, and surprisingly little cussing with this one, I'm like a Dr. of Kindlingology or some such, maybe a Kindling Ninja, or it could be that I'm just crazy about kind...Crazy! I was crazy once, they put me in a room, a room with kindling, and kindling makes me crazy! Stay tuned for more tips on how to keep your finger tips.
Oh, and by the way. I have a to, but not a fro(e).
Cool 😎👍👊
....nice tools...
That tool you're not sure of looks like a tool for forging steel.

Thanks for visiting.
HMMM We use a wood splitter, and we collect the tree twigs for kindling. Wouldn't that be easier? Just askin for a friend!
Hey there AlwaysWantingMoreSilver, I hope you folks have been well. Cutting small limbs with a chainsaw is dangerous as heck, plus a waste of time, to little return for the time spent, and ain't no way this old fat fellow is wandering around the woods for sticks, I make my own!
Well hello @HeathersChubbyHubby been a long timey friend. I sure hope you and Mrs. HCH are doing well. Miss you online. I always look for new videos you make 😊
