I found getting the bottom water pump bolt and removing the 3 bolts from the water pump pulley while on the car to be much simpler by going in behind the front wheel. 2 Clips to release enough fender skirt to make the job simple.
thank you bro. I worked on my car with your guidance and able to achieve it.i was scared at first but its actually not that bad I changed my water pump alternator as well and replaced my old serpentine belt the only area I struggle for a bit was the pulley it was a challenge to put the 3 10mm screws back in considering the little working space
I'm attempting this job on 2012 4 cylinder accord and mine does not have the 3 pulley bolts that you undo to remove the pulley. Has anyone come across this? How do I get the pulley off of the water pump?
After some research I found that there are 2 water pump models sold by Honda for 8th Gen accords. One has a fixed mount pulley and the other has a removable pulley. I replaced mine with the fixed mount pulley version but if I ever do the job again I will switch to the removable pulley version. Being able to remove that pulley will make the job easier.
I have the fixed mount pulley as well, struggling to figure how to get the water pump pulley off, with no accessible nuts to remove it. How did you get it off?
Does anybody know why my car only works when its cold after about 30mins of run time it doesn’t want to start .. my hand does goes all the way to H it just stays in the middle
Good video. Am I the only one who had to remove the top bolt and loosen the lower bolt to roll the alternator out of the way to get the pulley out? I just could not get it to clear the WP and frame.
READ THIS: - loosen the lower alternator bolt and remove the top bolt. Then swing the alternator forward. This will give you room to reach the water pump bolts. - The serpentine belt tool is a necessity on this job. - Be extremely careful removing the three 10mm bolts that hold the water pump pulley in place. I rounded off two of mine. It is impossible to see the hole the Allen key fits in. The hole exists at about 12:30 (clock position). - I found it extremely difficult to remove the water pump. I had to use a combination of small extensions and drive adapters (1/2, 3/8 and 1/4 inch) to act as super short extensions, to get the perfect length to fit on the water pump bolts. These bolts were on very tight. - I advise putting the car up on ramps. That way you won't have to bend over so much, and you will be able to get under the car to install/remove the serpentine belt on/off the crankshaft pulley. - A fender cover or a big beach towel, is a good idea to prevent scratching the paint. - Rushing this job will result in stripped, "rounded off" or cross-threaded fasteners. - In my opinion, this job is not for the faint of heart.
How was you able to get the pull off with no problem ? And I broke the bottom 🔩 because I went to tight and I put the old gasket like a dick .. when I know better. Got new gasket and just need to get the bolt out ? What can I do ?
Leo Serna if you have the I4 then no, if you have v6 then might as well since it's right there. Check if it's loose and change if so, or around 70k-100k miles
Thin belt that we see is called serpentine belt or drive belt. The timing belt are for the crank and camshaft which for Honda is mostly for v6 engine and it’s behind a timing cover(plastic) this engine is a i4 and has timing chain that never needs service until you have a bad chain
I have a Ford Explorer , i wish I would have known ahead of time this is not the same at my v6 motor. Took me a lot replays to realize this is is the 4 cylinder Good video otherwise.

Such a great help. The water pump pulley was a struggle to get on the new pump. Thank you for the video
wow!!! I fully understood very clear explanation thank you you covered everything I need.
Great video! I love the breakdown of all the items needed up front. Kudos to you!
Best demonstration video I've seen, well done sir. Thank you.
Awesome vid bro keep posting for this generation of accords
This guy's engine area is clean. Easy to work on without getting your hand so very dirty.
Excellent video, well explain to the point everyone can understand. Great job sir.
It's called a 'Petcock' drain plug on radiator
Would you recommend to replace the water pump after 130,000 miles? Thanks
Nice! Next time cud U be a bit more specific about wrench sizes? I like to preview the video and take notes as I watch before starting my work.
Really well explained appreciate your time explaining it and tips, how long would you say it took you to complete the whole job.
Very detailed and clear. Thanks for the video.
Thank You! Very well done!

Great video explained perfect 👌
Does oil coolant work good in that honda

Please add what type of engine this is. It is NOT the 3.5L V6 engine. I just found out the hard way.
That is 2.4L
at least the pump is not inside the timing belt chamber and require so much more work. surprise pump failed so soon
Have you had to replace the engine mount for this. I’m actually trying to replace mine now
Did anyone bought a duralast water pump and struggled to find the pulley?
How many miles to change the water pump?
Did you figure this out?

Oh please you big baby
@@richardfabrizio8998 Do you know which end of a torque wrench to use?
Well laid out video!
What engine is this? The configuration is completely different on a 2008 LX Civic.

good video but did u just torque the water pump bolts to 8 ft lbs when it's supposed to be 102 ft lbs?
8 ft lbs is the correct. but in inch lbs, it would be 102
Sam Abbad check your conversion Sam.
102 inch pds.
Does anyone know if the timing belt needs service after this?

You didn't show the removal of the bottom screw. Because you have to get it from the bottom right side. You didn't the hard way.
Have you change the timing belt on one of these engines?
This engine has a timing chain. Honda with belts have plastic covers.
Timing belt on 4 cylinders go up to 2002 after that only v6 has the timing belt and 4 cylinder timing chain
