I have loaded micropython onto my esp8266 boards, I used my Raspberry Pi 3 to do the uploading. It worked very well. I programmed 4 modules and only got no fully functioning device. I guess the devices were sub-standard or more likely didn't have enough memory. I have an Adafruit Huzzah coming tomorrow so I hope to get that working too. I also bought a pyboard to add to my collection.
Nice tutorial Tony. If you have one you may want to use a spare wifi access point for doing your videos so you don't leak details of your home network. Only needs to be on when doing videos. :)
Great videos, you cover all the nitty-gritty to get off the ground. Using a Nodemcu myself. Keep up the great work.
Really great tutorial. I'm going to try this out next week.

Thanks again, this is great stuff.
I have never been able to use to screen command on linux, am I doing something wrong? If so what, or do I need to use a different command?
can you transfer a .py file, and run it? and if so, how?
could I stream sensor data using web sockets?
thanks bro
If you keep forgetting things it can be alzheimer's or a brain tumor... also cats can spread toxoplasmosis ;)
