Frankly the way they work in the Jedi games makes more sense. They have no cutting edge and nothing is hot enough to slice through matter like that. They are emitted from the hilt in a direct line, which means anything that passes through the blade should stop it and begin burning from the contact point, but not be immediately pierced.

It’s giving O-Ren Ishii’s death. But really all these angles are gut wrenching. Who cuts someone off at the shoulders still high enough to be before the armpits?! That’s what looked crazy to me.

They are scary 1 to 1 or 1 to 2-3 people because of the "extra" powers they have. With the proper guns and people they can be taken down easily. They are not some super beings that are immortal, they are just quicker. Also if the enemies stop using blasters and start using normal bullets - jedis/siths have no chance. Especially buckshot shotguns or high fire machine guns, no chance to deflect nor stop them. They are overpowered for our fun, but in reality they will be put down quite easily. :)
@@victorgeorgievroadwell they can stop blaster laser and because their ability to see future so they know where the blaster shot... Not only that, in the original their movement is faster than in game so that's why people with lightsaber is so fearsome.
No the M rating needs to change! There’s no Blood no Gore to see here. Just some puppet like heads flying around. Big Deal. Even games like the new God of War are getting M ratings and they are nothing in comparison to the older titles. At least back in the day when something was rated M, it was actually for an 18+ audience. Buckets of blood, tits everywhere and guts spilling out. Nowadays people are oversensitive to this stuff.
Finally, something that can challenge the dismemberment of the Jedi Knight games. It's sad how it took modders to do this, but still this is genuinely awesome!

Probably the only unrealistic part is how close range the enemies are to you fully knowing brutality of a light-saber kill. I feel like realistically they'd try to maintain some sort of distance cause close to mid-range is suicide.
Also the fact he has two stormtroopers firing at him from behind from about 10 feet away and they still miss. He is not even looking at them or blocking, I know they are supposed to have a bad aim but one of the shots should have landed by chance it would take more skill to miss.
I feel like as soon as all the stormtroopers see their buddy get instantly vertically bisected by a laser sword they’d either be fucking petrified or outta there ASAP lol
I keep wondering why after Metal Gear Rising no Star Wars game ever implemented the Free-Slicing/Ripper mechanic. It just seemed natural to do so, given the lightsaber actually does cut through almost anything
A Jedi probably wouldn't be this brutal when fighting, but a Sith certainly would. A Jedi would probably pull their punches a bit and cause less dismemberment. Not saying it wouldn't happen (i.e. Obi-Wan in Mos Eisley) but likely not as often as, you know, the ones fueled by hate.
Let's be fair here, a Jedi wouldn't really fight this way period. They would be using the Force on melee targets and reflecting blaster bolts back. They'd only fight like this against other lightsaber wielders. The Sith on the other hand absolutely would chop up a room and think nothing of it.
The weaker the blow, the more painful it is. And in the video, the lightsaber battles, they didn't even have time to understand anything, but they already died.
This genuinely makes me feel scared for the storm troopers now. It's never really shown all that often or when it is it's on droids but lightsaber's are genuinely terrifying weapons that can serve to mutilate, dismember, or even decapitate. The fact that an entire order of peace keepers make use of it only makes it even scarier.
They don't want people to associate their intellectual property with dismemberment, it's like having swearing in a TV show but adding bleeps & ***, I get it but I also don't like the mindset or the final product.
Imagine Ghost of Tsushima lethal difficulty where normal mobs can be 1 hit, elite 2 or 3 hit and the boss just take more dmg and on the receiving end you can die in a hit or 2
In the original iterations of this mod, ligthsaber duels were 1 hit both sides. Just like it would be in the original movies(if the attacker actually wished to kill and not maim like Count Dooku and Obi Wan).
I used to play JKA like this and while you have to save a lot lol, it is absolutely amazing. Every duel is crazy. Getting attacked from multiple assailants is crazy.
EZ, just don’t put any Sith bosses. There’s plenty of cool Star Wars enemies that can have unique attack options and thus add mechanics, like you can have a boss be a Mandalorian. If it were up to me, I’d make a game where you play as either an Old Republic Sith or an Inquisitor, therefore explaining why your character feels perfectly comfortable turning human beings into sushi. Then you make the enemies one-hit kill (but balancing that out with a fleshed-out parrying system).

I just watched Halo Season 2 Episode 4 and (spoilers) there was a scene where John-117 (The Master Chief) was about to fight an alien (I think they are called elites) and one of the other aliens interfered and shot John-117 in the back!! The alien who wanted to have a fair fight with John-117 used a plasma blade of sorts and beheaded the alien who interfered and killed her / him / it!! With this scene there was so much detail that I took it back and watched it like 5 times!! I am not into gore or blood.. but.. this injury / wound was as close as we will ever get to seeing a real plasma weapon cause a fatal wound because there was burns, smoke and even like blood!! I think it is the most realistic scene we will ever have (there is more in the Halo TV Series on Paramount+ I might add) that like shows us what a real lightsaber wound would be like!! Sadly it was Halo that gave this to us and not Star Wars that under Disney seems to be afraid to show such things and they have turned lightsabers into glow sticks and tickle electro-sticks where even being stabbed with one only requires a few days in this hospital as it heals faster than a scratch from a kitten!! Find the scene I have mentioned in Halo and you will see what I am talking about.. someone cared about such things in that series!!
Yep, just like good olde Jedi Outcast and Academy. At some points you would face off against entire platoons of stormtroopers trying to gun you down or mechs with electrified forcefields. But of course the biggest threat were other force users with lightsabers. In Jedi Fallen Order a single trooper with a shock stick can block your lightsaber like....Wat?! You mean to tell me that my legendary, intricately made, crystal powered weapon that ONLY space wizards can wield effectively can be batted away with a shock prod issued en masse by cannon fodder? Then...What's the point...
Seeing this so cool because it gives you a cool understanding how a lightsaber really works and how would it look cutting people into pieces pretty brutal badass in the same time and very terrifying if you had a face somebody and has power of the force with them

That's why blasters are just *pew pew* your dead. Showing the effect of a plasma bolt on human bodies would be, for most people, disturbing? Exploded body parts everywhere? R for sure.
The author of the mod, who's currently working on this, said that once it's fully fleshed out and ready to release for JFO - he will port it to Jedi Survivor too.
@@ryanneale6501 it's clearly not in survivor as it's not even out for JFO. Purity perk in Survivor simply increases the damage done and taken. It has nothing to do with dynamic dismemberment system as shown in the video
It's not like they'd need to use DNA or anything, it's just a basic jigsaw puzzle. Cause of death would be fairly simple to figure out too. "Subject appears to have died from half his head falling off and rolling over to the three pieces of that other guy."

The science is that a normal dismemberment can be survived. But a cauterisation wound like this @ such intense temperature would cause a lot of unsurvivable complications leading to inevitable, eventual death.
So excited to see the full release soon. Will definitely make me come back to Fallen Order since Survivor... well, my PC might not run it well due to its bad optimization.
@@Kaisaccountt having a boss one shot you with almost any attack would not be good gameplay. I like that a Star Wars game borrowed from souls ganes in terms of combat but it shouldn’t become it fully, and even those games have some amount of forgiveness, you’re not gonna get one shotted by 85% of the enemy’s move set
@@Kaisaccountt you could also take a page out of sekiro by having bosses entirely based around a stamina/posture bar. Instead of widdling down a health bar you widdle down their stamina/posture. It can be made to take just as long as getting a healthbar down and when you get it down their posture is broken and you deliver a killblow by finally breaking through their guard. They could also put a similar system on the player to avoid getting one shotted
What is worst is to imagine what actually looked like when Anakin Skywalker carried out Order 66 on the younglings in the temple with his lightsaber similar to the way it is shown here, that would just be truly disturbing...I don't think any fans would ever side with him even after his redemption at the end of the Return of the Jedi.
It would be cool if Disney let this be a thing in the game. But probably best if the lightsaber works this way when the enemy is low in health and is one swipe from being killed. Otherwise the game wouldn't be difficult at all and the difficulty would probably have to be made in blocking shots which doesn't sound entirely fun as what we have.
Also, because then like, what the fuck is the challenge? It's also there to create and actually balanced gameplay experience. It's a video game, not a power trip.
@@MatchstickMan Why can't we have both? I play games to have fun and sometimes I just want to kerb-stomp a bunch of despairing goons who are in way over their heads. Plus, as the other person said, the game can be balanced around an incredibly lethal lightsaber by having the enemies a lot more motivated to avoid getting hit by it by flanking you, running away to get a better position, throwing shit at you that you don't just casually reflect into their face, and so on. In the Jedi Knight games you could only block bullets if you were facing the direction they came from (and only blasters, but not the disruptor that was also a sniper rifle) and the grenades and rockets could only be force pushed if you had really good timing. On the other hand, you had super jump and force speed to actually give you a chance against a room full of people uniquely motivated to keep firing until you looked like charcoal. Also you didn't actually have to use a lightsaber and could just shoot your enemies with the many guns you have or throw a grenade into the room, because Kyle Katarn (and whoever is in Jedi Academy) is a pragmatist instead of a doofus blinded by tradition who can't comprehend that times have changed and Jedi aren't just fancy cops anymore.
@Elriuhilu I mean. That's all well and good, and I was agreeing with you until you basically just said, make it Jedi Knight. At that point, just go play Jedi Knight. Which tbh I still do frequently. (Academy more so, because fuck Nar Shadda) but that's just it. They aren't trying to emulate that whole game. They're trying to emulate a Souls like obviously, of course you know this, but that pretty much would require lightsabers to not be super lethal like in lore because it's more about the swordplay of it. I don't mind the trade off because I already like the gameplay it offers and I like honing my ability at it. I won't disagree though that they could have both. Survivor actually does. It has a perk that's pretty much the Equalizer mode from Spider-Man where everyone goes down in one hit, but I think it makes them like. Super difficult. (Haven't actually used it yet.) And then it's just limited by the animations. Either way. Yeah, it'd be great to have both, but tbh, they shouldn't have to cater to every single different playstyle. They had intent, and they did it the way they did for a reason. And that doesn't make it less of a game. Or "lore shattering" as people like to exaggerate.
Watching these make me imagine a new way to intruduce the jedi x sith thing. They use the same weapons, but I mean, a jedi should never use his lightsaber like this, would always try different aproaches, reflectin the shots, using the force, cutting the guns, and this would make their life a lot harder... The sith would just go out slaughtring everyone in their way. And when they finally face of this would have a greater felling. because The jedi have this destructive power, but refuse to use it.
That's what a lot of the difference in the combat forms boils down to: How aggressive you are with the Saber. The Sith tend to prefer the one that's "All Out Attack" and the Prequel Era Jedi preferred the "Blocking Blaster Bolts" one. Obi-Wan switched to a heavily-defensive Dueling Form after watching his master lose a lightsaber fight. Anakin favored the "Attack Only" form (the Sith favorite), which raised a few eyebrows.
I have always felt that the Sith wouldn't really use their swords very much except when forced to against other sword users ever since that bit in Return of the Jedi when the Emperor says "take your Jedi weapon" in a way that seems contemptuous. I reckon if they had to personally fight, Sith would use the Force to cause brutal injuries and make their enemies suffer to death as a terror tactic and would also mind rape their opponents into killing their friends instead of doing cool samurai stuff. I think they would rather try to manipulate events to cause their enemies to fail instead of allowing their enemies to actually face them and have a chance of winning. Why sword fight a superhuman with abilities almost as powerful as yours when you can make it difficult for them to get to you before they are exhausted by all the obstacles and suffering and minions they had to defeat to get close enough for you to gloat as you crush their hope and self image before killing them? On a related note, I much preferred the old explanation of why Sith had red swords: that the Jedi controlled all the natural crystal caves so the Sith were forced to use artificial crystals to build their lightsabers (if they even bothered to build one).
The Lightsaber has got to be one of the greatest weapons in all of fiction. Largely because of how light they are means that they demand a super distinct sword-fighting style
Lightsabers are actually pretty heavy, if that’s still canonically correct. The difficulty in wielding a lightsaber is that the blade weighs nothing but the lightsaber itself is extremely heavy, so wielding one is significantly more dynamic than a sword or staff which are designed to be balanced.
@@Sharp47 took this from a quick google search. In old interviews, including an official behind-the-scenes video called “The Birth of the Lightsaber,” George Lucas makes it clear he conceived of lightsabers as being unwieldy and “heavy” for inexperienced users.
@@Sharp47 it’s also another reason why Rey being able to suddenly duel Kylo competently moments after holding a weapon she’s never seen before is extremely stupid. You needed to train specifically with a lightsaber so you didn’t cut your own limbs off or impale yourself.

Rebels and The Mandalorian both had Sabine and Mando learning to use the darksaber and showed that when the user is inexperienced and hasn't connected with the lightsaber it feels heavy and sluggish, like it opposes their movements. But the original comment must be true for a skilled user, where the blade would feel very light
this is how i wished the star wars game looked like. Super beautiful flow with the combat with no stupid limits for spesific movements. All it needed to be genuine game of the year is the focus of the Force and how powerful that is. (Star wars the force unleashed is the best example of that. reason why that is the best star wars game of all)
Back when getting hit by a lightsaber more or less guarantees death, now even stormtroopers could take 2-3 hits like it's just some blunt bat. This'll be an amazing mod!
I don’t know why but when I see gameplay of the sequel to this and when I see the force unleashed gameplays of 1 & 2 they both have a familiar turn towards gameplay mechanics

Playing this game with this mod, and reading the description of the stormtroopers being forced conscripts from the dominated worlds, hearing them give you a chance to surrender etc... "Are we the baddies?" It's complicated.
That really is scary... Even scarier... You don't even need a light saber to cut a scull in half. Just a very sharp long sword and really good edge alignment.
Something about this makes me shiver and get goosebumps. It's just crazy seeing how hot and devastating a lightsaber is when it comes into contact with living beings... They just instantly ceased to exist.
Such an elegant but extravogant weapon as well. A weapon of such beauty wielded by master's or destined warriors in their Padawan years. Something so graceful when wielded by one truly in tune with the force and their blade. Yoda, Qui-Gonn, Anakin Skywalker/ Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Galen Marek(Starkiller), Darth Sidious(The Emperor), Ahsoka.
If Light sabers are deadly, when, they are realistic. So are the the plasma blasters. Nobody can tank a dozen of them, without armour. You cant pick and choose, what reality want, as you wish.
Just imagine that, Jedi Academy had that. A 15 years old game. Multiplayer. With the best dueling system ever present in a Star Wars game. It was simply perfection itself.
The reason that in most media there’s just a slash is Jedi typically only fight in a way where the tip of the sword is used or it’s a more slashing motion cause it’s viewed as less violent. However many situations fighting techniques involve using the full sabor and having more violent strikes which often lead to dismemberment
Hm, that's not how a burnt meat looks like. Also should have blood coming out at least from large blood vessels because no way how lightsaber can cook blood in them to solid in a fraction of a second. Other than that yes, that's kinda how it should look like...

This genuinely makes me feel scared for the storm troopers now. It's never really shown all that often or when it is it's on droids but lightsaber's are genuinely terrifying weapons that can serve to mutilate, dismember, or even decapitate. The fact that an entire order of peace keepers make use of it only makes it even scarier.

Imagine Ghost of Tsushima lethal difficulty where normal mobs can be 1 hit, elite 2 or 3 hit and the boss just take more dmg and on the receiving end you can die in a hit or 2
In the original iterations of this mod, ligthsaber duels were 1 hit both sides. Just like it would be in the original movies(if the attacker actually wished to kill and not maim like Count Dooku and Obi Wan).

I used to play JKA like this and while you have to save a lot lol, it is absolutely amazing. Every duel is crazy. Getting attacked from multiple assailants is crazy.
EZ, just don’t put any Sith bosses. There’s plenty of cool Star Wars enemies that can have unique attack options and thus add mechanics, like you can have a boss be a Mandalorian. If it were up to me, I’d make a game where you play as either an Old Republic Sith or an Inquisitor, therefore explaining why your character feels perfectly comfortable turning human beings into sushi. Then you make the enemies one-hit kill (but balancing that out with a fleshed-out parrying system).
Finally a lightsaber in a game and not a glow stick!!

I just watched Halo Season 2 Episode 4 and (spoilers) there was a scene where John-117 (The Master Chief) was about to fight an alien (I think they are called elites) and one of the other aliens interfered and shot John-117 in the back!! The alien who wanted to have a fair fight with John-117 used a plasma blade of sorts and beheaded the alien who interfered and killed her / him / it!! With this scene there was so much detail that I took it back and watched it like 5 times!! I am not into gore or blood.. but.. this injury / wound was as close as we will ever get to seeing a real plasma weapon cause a fatal wound because there was burns, smoke and even like blood!! I think it is the most realistic scene we will ever have (there is more in the Halo TV Series on Paramount+ I might add) that like shows us what a real lightsaber wound would be like!! Sadly it was Halo that gave this to us and not Star Wars that under Disney seems to be afraid to show such things and they have turned lightsabers into glow sticks and tickle electro-sticks where even being stabbed with one only requires a few days in this hospital as it heals faster than a scratch from a kitten!! Find the scene I have mentioned in Halo and you will see what I am talking about.. someone cared about such things in that series!!

Yep, just like good olde Jedi Outcast and Academy. At some points you would face off against entire platoons of stormtroopers trying to gun you down or mechs with electrified forcefields. But of course the biggest threat were other force users with lightsabers.
In Jedi Fallen Order a single trooper with a shock stick can block your lightsaber like....Wat?! You mean to tell me that my legendary, intricately made, crystal powered weapon that ONLY space wizards can wield effectively can be batted away with a shock prod issued en masse by cannon fodder? Then...What's the point...
Seeing this so cool because it gives you a cool understanding how a lightsaber really works and how would it look cutting people into pieces pretty brutal badass in the same time and very terrifying if you had a face somebody and has power of the force with them
If scenes like this were to be put in the actual Star Wars movies, they would probably mark it as rated R.

Purity perk in Survivor simply increases the damage done and taken. It has nothing to do with dynamic dismemberment system as shown in the video

It's not like they'd need to use DNA or anything, it's just a basic jigsaw puzzle. Cause of death would be fairly simple to figure out too.

The science is that a normal dismemberment can be survived. But a cauterisation wound like this @ such intense temperature would cause a lot of unsurvivable complications leading to inevitable, eventual death.

@@Kaisaccountt having a boss one shot you with almost any attack would not be good gameplay. I like that a Star Wars game borrowed from souls ganes in terms of combat but it shouldn’t become it fully, and even those games have some amount of forgiveness, you’re not gonna get one shotted by 85% of the enemy’s move set
@@Kaisaccountt you could also take a page out of sekiro by having bosses entirely based around a stamina/posture bar. Instead of widdling down a health bar you widdle down their stamina/posture. It can be made to take just as long as getting a healthbar down and when you get it down their posture is broken and you deliver a killblow by finally breaking through their guard. They could also put a similar system on the player to avoid getting one shotted
What is worst is to imagine what actually looked like when Anakin Skywalker carried out Order 66 on the younglings in the temple with his lightsaber similar to the way it is shown here, that would just be truly disturbing...I don't think any fans would ever side with him even after his redemption at the end of the Return of the Jedi.

It would be cool if Disney let this be a thing in the game. But probably best if the lightsaber works this way when the enemy is low in health and is one swipe from being killed. Otherwise the game wouldn't be difficult at all and the difficulty would probably have to be made in blocking shots which doesn't sound entirely fun as what we have.
Lightsabers are one hit kill weapons. But to make games applicable for all ages we tone down the shear brutality of a lightsaber.
Also, because then like, what the fuck is the challenge? It's also there to create and actually balanced gameplay experience. It's a video game, not a power trip.

@@MatchstickMan Why can't we have both? I play games to have fun and sometimes I just want to kerb-stomp a bunch of despairing goons who are in way over their heads. Plus, as the other person said, the game can be balanced around an incredibly lethal lightsaber by having the enemies a lot more motivated to avoid getting hit by it by flanking you, running away to get a better position, throwing shit at you that you don't just casually reflect into their face, and so on. In the Jedi Knight games you could only block bullets if you were facing the direction they came from (and only blasters, but not the disruptor that was also a sniper rifle) and the grenades and rockets could only be force pushed if you had really good timing. On the other hand, you had super jump and force speed to actually give you a chance against a room full of people uniquely motivated to keep firing until you looked like charcoal. Also you didn't actually have to use a lightsaber and could just shoot your enemies with the many guns you have or throw a grenade into the room, because Kyle Katarn (and whoever is in Jedi Academy) is a pragmatist instead of a doofus blinded by tradition who can't comprehend that times have changed and Jedi aren't just fancy cops anymore.

At that point, just go play Jedi Knight. Which tbh I still do frequently. (Academy more so, because fuck Nar Shadda) but that's just it. They aren't trying to emulate that whole game. They're trying to emulate a Souls like obviously, of course you know this, but that pretty much would require lightsabers to not be super lethal like in lore because it's more about the swordplay of it. I don't mind the trade off because I already like the gameplay it offers and I like honing my ability at it. I won't disagree though that they could have both. Survivor actually does. It has a perk that's pretty much the Equalizer mode from Spider-Man where everyone goes down in one hit, but I think it makes them like. Super difficult. (Haven't actually used it yet.) And then it's just limited by the animations.
Either way. Yeah, it'd be great to have both, but tbh, they shouldn't have to cater to every single different playstyle. They had intent, and they did it the way they did for a reason. And that doesn't make it less of a game. Or "lore shattering" as people like to exaggerate.

Watching these make me imagine a new way to intruduce the jedi x sith thing. They use the same weapons, but I mean, a jedi should never use his lightsaber like this, would always try different aproaches, reflectin the shots, using the force, cutting the guns, and this would make their life a lot harder... The sith would just go out slaughtring everyone in their way. And when they finally face of this would have a greater felling. because The jedi have this destructive power, but refuse to use it.
That's what a lot of the difference in the combat forms boils down to: How aggressive you are with the Saber.
The Sith tend to prefer the one that's "All Out Attack" and the Prequel Era Jedi preferred the "Blocking Blaster Bolts" one.
Obi-Wan switched to a heavily-defensive Dueling Form after watching his master lose a lightsaber fight. Anakin favored the "Attack Only" form (the Sith favorite), which raised a few eyebrows.
I have always felt that the Sith wouldn't really use their swords very much except when forced to against other sword users ever since that bit in Return of the Jedi when the Emperor says "take your Jedi weapon" in a way that seems contemptuous. I reckon if they had to personally fight, Sith would use the Force to cause brutal injuries and make their enemies suffer to death as a terror tactic and would also mind rape their opponents into killing their friends instead of doing cool samurai stuff. I think they would rather try to manipulate events to cause their enemies to fail instead of allowing their enemies to actually face them and have a chance of winning. Why sword fight a superhuman with abilities almost as powerful as yours when you can make it difficult for them to get to you before they are exhausted by all the obstacles and suffering and minions they had to defeat to get close enough for you to gloat as you crush their hope and self image before killing them?
On a related note, I much preferred the old explanation of why Sith had red swords: that the Jedi controlled all the natural crystal caves so the Sith were forced to use artificial crystals to build their lightsabers (if they even bothered to build one).

The Lightsaber has got to be one of the greatest weapons in all of fiction. Largely because of how light they are means that they demand a super distinct sword-fighting style
Lightsabers are actually pretty heavy, if that’s still canonically correct. The difficulty in wielding a lightsaber is that the blade weighs nothing but the lightsaber itself is extremely heavy, so wielding one is significantly more dynamic than a sword or staff which are designed to be balanced.
I don't know where you got the idea of lightsaber hilts being "extremely heavy" but that is absolutely incorrect and never was stated in canon

@@Sharp47 it’s also another reason why Rey being able to suddenly duel Kylo competently moments after holding a weapon she’s never seen before is extremely stupid. You needed to train specifically with a lightsaber so you didn’t cut your own limbs off or impale yourself.

Rebels and The Mandalorian both had Sabine and Mando learning to use the darksaber and showed that when the user is inexperienced and hasn't connected with the lightsaber it feels heavy and sluggish, like it opposes their movements. But the original comment must be true for a skilled user, where the blade would feel very light

this is how i wished the star wars game looked like. Super beautiful flow with the combat with no stupid limits for spesific movements. All it needed to be genuine game of the year is the focus of the Force and how powerful that is. (Star wars the force unleashed is the best example of that. reason why that is the best star wars game of all)

he was merciful to the stormtrooper at 1:40. By only stabbing him in the gut, that stormtrooper survived and went on to live a happy life.

I never understood why they took the dismemberment off in the new Star Wars games. Makes no sense, the "sword" feels like a wooden stick with burnmarks.
THAT is what they should do. Blasters should also blow chunks out of someone from the sheer heat evaporation of the flesh and fluids.

Imagine going all Metal Gear Rising in a Star Wars game.
Such an elegant but extravogant weapon as well. A weapon of such beauty wielded by master's or destined warriors in their Padawan years. Something so graceful when wielded by one truly in tune with the force and their blade. Yoda, Qui-Gonn, Anakin Skywalker/ Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Galen Marek(Starkiller), Darth Sidious(The Emperor), Ahsoka.
If Light sabers are deadly, when, they are realistic. So are the the plasma blasters. Nobody can tank a dozen of them, without armour. You cant pick and choose, what reality want, as you wish.
Just imagine that, Jedi Academy had that. A 15 years old game. Multiplayer. With the best dueling system ever present in a Star Wars game. It was simply perfection itself.

The reason that in most media there’s just a slash is Jedi typically only fight in a way where the tip of the sword is used or it’s a more slashing motion cause it’s viewed as less violent. However many situations fighting techniques involve using the full sabor and having more violent strikes which often lead to dismemberment

This physics with a slow mo effect whenever you kill someone with your lightsaber like in Jedi Knight II and it would be perfection.
