I love this battle because it shows how intimidating and ruthlessly effective stormtroopers actually are as long as they don't have orders to let enemies escape or are up against protagonists in plot armor.
@@AmateurMediaCritics It really has, it ticks me off since people ignore the fact all bad guys miss ther shots when fighting the hero, stormtroopers are no exception unfortunately.
Actually the accuracy is less explained by that. Battlefield accuracy has historically gotten worse since the Napoleonic Wars. In the 19th century, when battles were fought with muzzleloaders and regiments formed up in giant blocks, it took around 150-200 rounds to kill or wound an enemy soldier. In World War II, that number increased to around 50,000 rounds per casualties. During the War in Afghanistan? Almost 300,000 rounds per casualty. The Stormtroopers had near perfect accuracy under the stress of combat. Their breathing would be increased, heart rate elevated, adrenaline pumping. It's difficult to control your arms under the best of circumstances. The fact that the Stormtroopers can do that while also fighting with a significant handicap (needing to take prisoners and assaulting through a chokepoint) is clear that Stormtroopers are so ludicrously superior to the rebellion that any stand up fight with them is a forgone conclusion.

This is probably my favourite scene in the entire movie, maybe on par with the Death Star assault, because it shows us exactly what our boys in white are worth. It was only natural EC Henry's video on stormtrooper aim made me appreciate it more, because it made me focus on just how brutally they take the rebels down.
It’s really weird more stormtroopers didn’t die going into the room. I mean even if they still won, this is a joke point area where 20 guys are all aiming down one hallway. Somehow the rebels only managed to kill 2?
For somebody who's supposed to be an expert on Star Wars he doesn't know how to pronounce Tantive. It's pronounced Tan-tiv-ee, not Tan-tiv. That's from the official PBS radio show, blessed by George Lucas from back when the movie was simply called Star Wars.

Plot armor has really done a number on the stormtroopers reputation

It was realistic. Stromtroopers are far better trained than rebels and those guys were Vader’s personal troops too so that’s why the perfect aim.
Could you imagine if Vader's own men were inaccurate? That'd be hilarious.. at least until they failed him for the last time
Imagine if they where death troopers instead. Them standing next to Vader would make both of them even more terrifying
@@multicreativeartist6579 that would definitely be wild

The tone for Star Wars was set so well with this battle.
Simply fantastic. 45 years of Star Wars began so perfectly right here

You should have seen this in a theatre in 1977. Talk about mind-blowing.
How I wish
@@AmateurMediaCritics I did see it in '77.
My mom did.
Nice review!!

If you can find more info on it you should analyze the various good-ish battles in the background of Episode III like Utapau or Mygeeto.
Utapau is on my list already and Mygeeto is a great suggestion, Worst case scenario I'll pull info from Legends
@@AmateurMediaCritics Legends Mygeeto makes Umbara look like a joke and was an absolute bloodbath
Nice
Thanks man
This is a much better idea

Wait, it's not pronounced "Tan-tiv"?
