Here are two useful lines of code for the formula field to help time tracking with the new update: 1) This will show the minutes spent on each task: dateBetween(dateEnd(prop("Date")), dateStart(prop("Date")), "minute") 2) This will show the formatted hours on each task: format(floor(dateBetween(dateEnd(prop("Date")), dateStart(prop("Date")), "minute") / 60)) + ":" + (dateBetween(dateEnd(prop("Date")), dateStart(prop("Date")), "minute") % 60 < 10 ? "0" : "") + format(dateBetween(dateEnd(prop("Date")), dateStart(prop("Date")), "minute") % 60) In both of these examples you should change "Date" to the name of your date field. I hope this helps!
The biggest update would be when they FINALLY get recurring tasks and not just recurring "templates" To be a productivity app and not have recurring tasks is APPALLING!
i really wish more properties were on the calendar, so i could change the status or see what project/type of task it is.. don’t like i have to keep going back to notion to do that! Also in general, i really want to see recurring tasks within notion
This is going to be fantastic for all those schedules I built in my Notion Templates. Now I can actually view a calendar that contains tasks and items from all of my companion products all in one view.
If only I could categorize my Tasks in different Calendars, like one for work and one personal. Other than that it's amazing and I'm happy that it's finally happening.
Unfortunately, if you set a task from Monday to Friday with a specific time range (e.g., 9 am to 11 am), the calendar interprets it as a continuous block from Monday 9 am to Friday 11 am. To schedule the task individually for each day at the specified time, you need to create/duplicate separate tasks for each day. This way, you can set Monday from 9-11 am, Tuesday from 9-11 am, and so on, avoiding the calendar's continuous interpretation. That's why I've been using a text property for time. Now that I want to use this new feature, I have to force myself to change the timing system. Ugh !!
It would be so much more useful if we had a toggle switch to turn the time into a separate field automatically. It would clutter the view up more but it would be sooooo useful!
This is where proper recurring tasks within Notion would be super nice, and is the main reason I'll be sticking with Google Calendar until then. Actually, once they do that, I'll probably move from TickTick as well. Though TickTick's iOS widgets are incredibly nice, so we'll see. lol
No recurring tasks is a big problem for me. Guess I'll wait (more than I already have) to have this feature implemented before I fully migrate all my calendar to Notion
Great video but for some reason I can't find time to fill this "Notion" :D My job is not suitable for this... I want to use Notion but... I have no time to take notes...
I can't get the thing to show in full screen on my iPad, keeps opening up in a small sliver in the middle so prob gonna go back to fantastical since this bs seems to not work that great out the gate.
I am not able to see my tasks list through the notion calendar like it is presented in 0:24. It seems I can only create events. Is there a way to make my tasks available?
if you go to Notion, in the bottom left click on "calendar". Once set up, you can draw in the space on the calendar then change that block from an "event" to the specific database in Notion :)
Quick question: I can sync from gCal -> Notion Calendar I can sync from Notion database -> Notion calendar But I can't seem to find out how to sync from gCal -> Notion database or from gCal -> Notion Calendar -> Notion Database. How do I do that? Context: I want to schedule events in gCal and have a view in my notion database so that I can have filters. I'm scheduling and moving around working-shifts. So far I use Zapier but I'd rather use something native. Thanks!
ah. good question. From my understanding, in Notion Calendar it is basically showing your Google Cal Events and your Notion Database events. So ideally, if you could switch to creating events in Notion Calendar (instead of GCal) then you can have them show up in Notion Databases :)
Unfortunately I do not have the option to link a notion database to notion calendar 😞Could this be because I'm working on my iPad? Is this only available on the PC/Mac? Thank you ☺️🙏
No. This is Cron Calendar absorbed into Notion, and it’s a companion app to Notion. Within Notion, the only change is the addition of the “Open in Calendar” button for Notion databases that have a calendar view. Notion 3.0 isn’t here yet.

Wow. I'm a bit perplexed seeing him been mentioned here also Didn't know he has been good to so many people too this is wonderful, i'm in my fifth trade with him and it has been super
I don't want to put a figure to how much i've made doing that but let's just say it's more than enough to make trading worthwhile. And when i say worthwhile, i mean it.

you know what saves a lot of time? not using Notion 😂

I so wish I had this last year during university.
Can you make appear some properties, that you have in The database (from Notion), in Notion Calendar?
Is there a way to 2 way sync with Google Calendar?
Thoughts on Notion Calendar?
Really hoping it makes Notion usable for taskblocking tasks and - essential - sub-tasks
Actually if you don't use timeblocking (I am a GTD guy) it is not such a breakthrough... Nice but not incredible... We will see how it will evolve
I'm waiting for the notion calander app for my samsung phone. That would be fantastic! At that moment I will switch back to Notion.
it exactly like cron calendar
No recurring tasks is a big problem for me. Guess I'll wait (more than I already have) to have this feature implemented before I fully migrate all my calendar to Notion
I'm surprised how many people didn't know about Cron Calendar.
Notion Calendar was great yesterday and now a big white screen. Is this because they have so many people using it?
Great video but for some reason I can't find time to fill this "Notion" :D My job is not suitable for this... I want to use Notion but... I have no time to take notes...

How to integrate Outlook calendar with Notion Calendar?
I can't get the thing to show in full screen on my iPad, keeps opening up in a small sliver in the middle so prob gonna go back to fantastical since this bs seems to not work that great out the gate.
Did they add the reaccuring task function?
I am not able to see my tasks list through the notion calendar like it is presented in 0:24. It seems I can only create events. Is there a way to make my tasks available?

My headquarters database items are not synchronising up with this new calendar, any ideas why ?
that's strange? Click on "Open in Calendar" on the HQ calendar database. That should then work. If not, email me a screenshot :)
As of Jan. 18, 2024: Notion Calendar is Notion branding on top of Google Calendar.
Do you know if there is a way to use Notion Calendar with Android tablets and phones?
currently I don't think so sadly :(
@@ProductiveSetups Thank you for the answer.
will this sync also sync in my google kalender ? I usse google because of reclaim etc.
6:36 😂😂😂😂😂
So, is it only worthwhile if you have a calendar in Google Calendar, or can I do without it?
From my understanding, at the moment you need to connect it with your Google account :)
Quick question:
I can sync from gCal -> Notion Calendar
I can sync from Notion database -> Notion calendar
But I can't seem to find out how to sync from gCal -> Notion database or from gCal -> Notion Calendar -> Notion Database. How do I do that?
Context: I want to schedule events in gCal and have a view in my notion database so that I can have filters. I'm scheduling and moving around working-shifts. So far I use Zapier but I'd rather use something native.

Any ways to connect HQ second brain with the calendar? I find from add database, but not visisble.
yes! super easy with Headquarters as it's all in the one database. Just click on the "Open in Calendar" and you can connect it :)
@@ProductiveSetups yeah, but i can’t see all the task display in the calendar. When i add using your videos, i can’t find the database.
amoo!!!! creo que lo mejor seria, tener ya un app para Android jejeje
Unfortunately I do not have the option to link a notion database to notion calendar 😞Could this be because I'm working on my iPad? Is this only available on the PC/Mac? Thank you ☺️🙏

But like Is notion coming to play store?
Don't think it's out on Android yet :(
why would they release this without android app? 2024 btw
It’s a shame it’s not a 2 way sync
Did they skip Notion 3.0?
No. This is Cron Calendar absorbed into Notion, and it’s a companion app to Notion. Within Notion, the only change is the addition of the “Open in Calendar” button for Notion databases that have a calendar view. Notion 3.0 isn’t here yet.
Please integrate this cleanser into motion itself and not have it be a separate app

That's awesome!!! I know nothing about investment and I'm keen on getting started. What are the strategies?

YES!!! That's exactly his name (Fergus Waylen) so many people have recommended highly about him and am just starting with him from Brisbane Australia

Hi, can you show how to not show "checked / completed" task on the notion calendar
