thank you so much for taking the time to make and post this video.this is a viewer request, can you make a video on the type of string and diameter on string to get a good crisp edge thanks again
The line was so long it was back lashing and causing some gaps or unevenness around that last bed. Cut the line to 4 inches each side to prevent the back lash when edging.

there not really an order because I edge mow weedeat then blow then spray for weeds. if you have a tall lawn then you use the weedeater first so the mower can mulch what the weedeater left behind. I just did a video on this. you may want to check it out
Mario is correct. The turf will tell you the power. However if your using a 2 stroke engine, you need to maintain full power all the time to avoid carbon build up. Make sure you buy a 4 stoke for weed eaters whipper snippers etc
Giova_the_beast You wanted to be annoying but you just looked ignorant. Taller people have an advantage since they can more easily control the shaft. This guy is simply smart enough to hold the trimmer more comfortably. Obviously smarter and nicer than you.
Get an Edgeit-Pro. Better control, especially for the people who don't have steady hands. And for flat trimming, the 12 inch disk can't be beat for keeping the debris from flying all over.
Mario Saenz Landscaping Services yea im just breaking it in.. i always bought cheap weed eaters.. even owned a few cheap electric weed eaters but never had a good lawn.. now i got a decent lawn so. this time i put some money into it and i love the power. cant wait to edge the proper way tomorrow
Mike don't take the gaurd off! it will fuck your clutch too soon. Any good whipper or weed eater etc. will come with a piece of metal on the guard that will snip your line to the best length. It does take some practise as its harder to see the line but well worth it. I used mine for about 6 years with the guard off and blew through more clutches that i care to remember. The guard is worth keeping on if not for only the clutch but also for all the shit you whip in your face legs etc. after a while the stuff hitting you isnt a problem but better not to have if you can avoid. When whipping a flat edge ie. when the whipper is not angled for edges but for trimming around trees etc. this line length is a little short but more than needed. It wont over work your clutch and if you using a 2 stroke engine means you can go at full power. Also dont hold your edger this way. I know it works but why would have the engine right up next to your head? Im using ear plugs and full ear mufflers and still is leading to tinitus. look out for the demos of dudes using it as about waist who just flip it over. Just play with the angles. I achieve the same if not better results from using a safer hold away from my head. And I never fuck a line up because i hit a tree branch with the edger i didnt see. My head hits them first. lol. Not to disrespect Mario but there are better ways too keep you machines and ears safe.
In the time it takes my coworker to edge 200ft (3 sides), hit the sidewalk and go through 4 or 5 blades; I'm done weed whacking and edging (with a weedwhacker) 2 softball fields, a football field and the rest of the curb line- about 600 feet.
Great video!!! Ill be starting my business soon...any advice? And all these hate comments are just people that cant get up from the couch and do something useful.
I'm left handed and hold like I'm trimming but turn it up side down. its faster and more stable. I could run when edging. Still like the weed eater because you don't have to go back to the truck. SAVE the legs for the moon walk . I will have to post a vid on how fast I do it.
Nice video and you really do handle that shaft well (couldn't resist). Make that camera guy spit his gum out first next time. You guys really should demo this stuff on a nice lawn. That customer needs a serious bed refresh and mulching. I try not to trench my edges too much. That bare dirt is just begging for weeds to take hold.
Haha might b stupid but wat if ur someone with some really short arms who would get blown over by the wind anyway and u can't hold the edger that way bc ur arms won't reach that far???.
wont fuck the carb small engines are built to be flipped angled etc.. will fuck your ears though... keep it at waist height and invert use your thumb and find the right angle with your feet works just as well if not more time efficient and saves your ear drums
Nice vid mate.. However i think how your holding the edger way up to your head unnecessary.. I find it just as effective to keep at almost waist height and inverted using my thumb.. Of course whatever is comfortable.. But I find it easier to flick between straight and flat edges that way. Also saves my ears a little from the inevitable tinitus that comes out way (hope usually your earing plugs or muffs when your not recording!) And also... I took my guard off for many many years but i went through so many clutches... They are not hard to replace but why bother when the guard will keep the line at the optimal length for the machine. I admit i like a bit more line for a flat edge but necessary... If your know what your doing the guard is awsome.. Just make sure you have a top notch tap and feed head as it eats more line than without the gaurd (but not much more) and keeps wear off the equipment. Mainly saves clutches. All that said Bro Nice Vid! Thanks for the chance to comment and spread some other wisdom cus i couldnt be fucked taping myself lol!! Keep up the good work!!!
I don't think they were horrible, but I wouldn't be happy as a customer. I wouldn't complain, but I also wouldn't give repeat business. As you walk, your upper body is rocking from side to side and those lines were very inconsistent. I like the technique on holding the trimmer, though.

Mario, I read somewhere that the order of doing your lawn is Edge, Trim, Mow, and Blow. Is that correct, in your experience?
there not really an order because I edge mow weedeat then blow then spray for weeds. if you have a tall lawn then you use the weedeater first so the mower can mulch what the weedeater left behind. I just did a video on this. you may want to check it out
Great demonstration. Question please I try this and the string either breaks or goes up into the spool, any idea why?
Yes, because you let the string get eat up too much then it breaks in the spool. Always bump at 3 inches or 4
Mario what size line are you using? mine breaks off so much when edging my drive any suggestions?
