I love the stance and color scheme. I have a 1990 sportster and have been collecting parts to build a tracker style bike. I came across your videos when I was looking for ideas. I already have the same shocks and tail. Looks great!
Hi! So the plate bracket is some Amazon garbage called “Ledishun motorcycle license plate holder mount for Kawasaki Z650”. 😅 It’s not bad, but really heavy and I had to modify it a bit to make it look nice. As for the running light that’s tucked right under the tail, it’s a Custom Dynamics Knight Riderz non-sequential light bar-you can find that on Dennis Kirk. It blinks for about five seconds and then stays bright when you apply the brakes and then returns to a running light when you release. I found that it confuses people when it blinks and as the only brake light, so I got an additional brake light that’s mounted on the license plate that stays off until I hit the brakes, then just turns on with no blinking. Almost like a sort of third brake light, if you will. That one is just a license plate brake light from ijdmtoy. Apologies on the super long reply-hope this helps, however.
When I got mine, they sold a real basic bracket for it that just simply shaped to the underside of the section and it looked somewhat like a horseshoe, and you had to fabricate the mounting points yourself. But they do offer specific-fit brackets these days for it. Assuming you have a Sportster yourself, just Google "saddlemen eliminator tail section bracket sportster" and the first link should be that specific bracket.
Love the Sportster LOL can you please tell me what did you have to do to put the Buell S1 front end on is it a bolt on? Or does it have to have modifications? I'd like to do it to mine I have a 2004 883
It bolts right in! Main modification I had to do was install some studs in the lower triple tree for the turn stops since the turn stops are opposite between the Buell and Sportster.
How would you say the handling is with 19-in rims. Is it sketchy compared to stock setup. I won't be using the setup for dirt but for spirited road riding.
Honestly…I don’t really know how it’s supposed to ride when stock lol. When I first got it, it was completely disassembled so I don’t have much of a reference. I think, if anything, the taller rear shocks and shorter front forks that have made the rake on the front forks more upright has made the bike a little more sketchy as the front tends to almost feel like it’s getting close to death wobble. I need a stabilizer, honestly.
So I have two front wheels-they’re 19”x2.15”, which is why I’ve got the rear wheel adapter. My front tire is a 130/80-19, and the rear is a 140/80-19. They’re Shinko 267/268s; these types of tires have been a pain to find for me as well lol. I like these since they’re DOT-approved flat track tires…even though I don’t know the first thing about flat tracking
Yeah, after recording this I went back home to look it up and realized I got it wrong lol. I appreciate the feedback; I’m still not very fluent on Buells even though I love them. I’d love an S1; such a cool bike.
Huh, I just looked that up. Looks like they have a newer Eliminator tail section you can buy for specifically those, but the one I got is their universal fit one. They come with a generic “hoop” that is the bracket that goes under the tail and mounts to the frame, but you have to fabricate the mounting pieces onto that bracket according to your bike
Pretty much! You gotta weld in a cross member and a tab with a nut to mount the bracket to the frame where it mounts from the factory, then the “slot” at the front of the bracket where the factory seat normally slides under the tab on the frame, and two other cross beams with nuts to mount the tail section to the bracket. I wish I could upload photos in comments to show you what the hell I’m talking about lol
I love the colour scheme and the closing music!
Thanks, dude!

Thanks dude! I love the Eliminator tail. Just those two parts you mentioned completely change the bike; it’s amazing. Have fun with the build!
Awesome build, nice video and thanks for the list of parts. Thinking about doing a similar build.
Thank you! And I highly recommend. It’s a lot of fun.
Love the bike, thanks for the breakdown!
Thanks dude! Glad you enjoyed it. Looking back I think it might be a bit long-winded lol
this is the best tracker build !!
Thanks a lot!
Hey! Wanting to buy the Eliminator tail do you remember what brand your taillight / plate bracket is? Thanks

What brand and model is your digital gauge toy are using? Nice build!
Thank you! It’s a Motogadget Motoscope Mini
How did you make the eliminator tail section fit I can't find installation instructions online

what tail is that ??

You will definitely find it a better option than the 16” rear. With decent rear shocks it will handle much better!
Another Question! What size rims and tires do you use? Finding dual sport tires for my stock 16in rear is a pain so I definitely need to do the swap

The forks are from a buell X1 most likely, possibly an S1. The Buell M2 didn't have upside down forks.
I have a 2000 Buell X1.

What was the adapter for the rear wheel that you found which was cheaper
Vulcan Engineering Company!
The saddlemen eliminator kit says its 2004 and up, how did you make that fit on the 96?

@@detroitdrivers4415 what all went into the fabrication? Was it just cutting the tail and welding the hoop?
