Painting this one as a gift. I'm fond of your technique and joyful spirit. I've been painting for a year now, and most of the pieces I've done after watching you first. Mine never look just like your example, but I'm good with that. We all have our own voice, right?
Anyway, I think I prefer the above tutorial over the painting party, IMHO. Keep painting!

I started watching this as I was prepping a ton of stuff for a batch cooking session... what a wonderful video, so calm and soothing. I finished prepping but now I want to say hang it and get the paints out rather than cooking! Thank you so much for these videos.. I just love them. You make things seem so easy (when I know that they are totally not!) and you are just so reassuring with the comments like just have fun with it, don’t stress, it can be fixed, it doesn’t matter... you make me believe that I could actually manage this.. and I will definitely have a go ❤️ (oh and I definitely prefer these tutorial type videos from the live when actually trying to paint, so thank you for doing them as well!)

Cinnamon....I really do like these quick & direct lessons. I'm so glad you are doing these types of videos again! When I first started painting alittle over a year ago I was watching one of your live shows and I asked a question "Do a lesson on painting a 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1". I see that you are wearing a car apron today...are we getting closer to the lesson 😉.

Thank you for sharing your talent and knowledge with those of us trying to learn acrylic painting. I prefer these type of lessons, maybe because I'm new and the lives are more like an art party, which I get and think is probably great for more experienced painters. For me, I like the straight forward continuous painting or I sort of forget where I was. I have only been painting since June of this year and had been looking forward to catching a live class but when I finally did, the week before last, I found it was too fast and there wasn't enough info with which paints you were loading and such so, I'll probably not watch a live for a while until I become more familiar with painting because I like being able to pause and rewind as needed. But THANKS AGAIN for SHARING with us, all your effort is really appreciated!!! And could you maybe do some mountain tutorials? The Blue Ridge Parkway has beautiful mountain scenes.

I am glad we have both styles as everyone takes in the art differently. I have a bunch of these. To help you just check if it was streamed or uploaded. Streamed means lives unless we failed our live and re-uploaded but not too may of those

  • @amberhale8511

I want to say I love that you are doing the live paintings and then uploading these straightforward lessons! I'm sure it is a ton of work for you and John, but personally, I LOVE it. I enjoy the fun, shenanigans, shout-outs and chatting from the live broadcasts, but I really enjoy painting along with "just the facts", and since I always watch the videos at least twice before I paint them its even better for me!

This was very well done! I adore this painting and you make it look so easy! I was asked to instruct a painting party for September 2022. I have never done one before and I have struggled with confidence. I've heard that you will never be truly ready or can imagine the blessings that God has in store for you, but that you just have to do it. Success is on the other side of fear. I guess we just have to go through it! This inspired me and I will use your teachings for my first paint party for the church group who requested one. Thank you so very much for a beautiful painting tutorial. I am giving it my best shot this weekend! ❤🌊

I love the way you teach. Very easy to follow along. I am new to acrylic painting and came across your youtube channel while hunting for a project to do for my first time. Honestly I ended up doing a fairly simple black and white from a tutorial from a different artist...(sorry!) But this time, I want to do something a bit more challenging, and a lot more colorful! This lighthouse fit perfectly! However, I do have a few questions. The colors you use, are different from the colors listed in the pulldown, which is different from the listed colors at the beginning of the video. A smart person would say, "Well obviously use the colors she has on her palette." I still wanted to ask, just to be sure. A couple other things I would like to know. Can this be painted on a canvas prepared with texture paste, our would you recommend against that? Lastly, on my first painting, I used the simply acrylic line of paints. I have upgraded to liquitex basics. Can I use the simply acrylic gloss medium in place of the golden liquid gloss? Sorry to be so long winded. I just want my project to be as good as I can manage. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us! I look forward to seeing more!

I have learned so much from you during your tutorials.....love how you explain how to draw things ....this lighthouse is awesome and am following you....and learning that it's okay to be a little different in colour but it seems to blend in.I would like to see a Japanese bridge with some bonsai and water with some koi in it.......just a suggestion....Thank you for your soothing approach.....

I love your tutorials.I always painted in aquarel en gouache.I took op this tutorial to learn to paint in acrylic.I Used cheap acrylic paint and it was a real fight to get the painting done. The color dried to fast on the canvas, the paint could not be spread evenly on the canvas. The white color did not cover the other colors well to highlight. The result was ok because i had some expierience painting,i could not recommend to use such paint, even for a beginner. My painting was on gouache structured paper, cheap paint and the highlights in the tower where made with a bankcard because i could not get the paint to flow evenly of my brush. You could find the painting on intagram.Look for zilverruggorilla. What do you think?I really need to step up to a good brand paint i think.Love your channel...keep it up

Hi! I love this painting and your video! Before I get started, can I paint his without the gloss? I just got all of my supplies to start painting for the first time, but did not get any gloss. I was hoping I could still make this without it. Let me know please, and thank you!

I really enjoy the "long" versions. Love to hear you (and your John) talk about the projects. But I enjoyed this tremendously too. I don't always have as much time as I would like to devote but this allowed me to do a painting in less than an hour. Very peaceful.

For some reason, I can paint most of your paintings. They're not perfect and exact like yours, but you are so positive about "just have fun" and that makes it easy to not feel bad about mistakes.

I painted this with you 4 yrs ago and I’ve been wanting to add something to it like a boat, but don’t know the right perspective it should be with respect to the lighthouse. Any pointers you can give me or did you by any chance ever add anything or did any other similar painting where there’s a lighthouse and a boat? Thanks

I enjoy both versions of the videos and thank you for working so hard for us. I love so many of your paintings (I have painted a couple of them already and can't wait to paint all the others) and the way you teach.
You mentioned that you wanted suggestions for painting ideas?. How about a Japanese type garden in the spring with a bridge and a pond or river? or a Tim Burton style type of painting? or a figure painting but the figure is plus size?.
    Take care! *waves*

I love these type,,, I like the others but these show more about the actual painting and technique that I need whereas the others have a lot of ,, well to me they feel like distractions when I'm trying to paint. This is more comfortable... how do I tell which ones are like this from the list?? Are they titled different so I can pick them out?

Absolutely love the option for a shorter video! Please do a sunflower field or disney character! Love what you do and what you stand for. The first painting of yours that I followed along was the starry night sunflower one and I cannot tell you how funny it was because my Fiance's favorite painting is starry night and his favorite flowers are sunflowers! By following along with you I was able to not just paint something that was pretty cool but something that I'm super proud of and can show off to people!
