That's a good question Python, Didn't ask and they aren't labeled. I'll work on that and get back to you though. They sound amazing riding and I've gotten a lot of comments about them. I got lucky on those and this bike for sure. The previous owner took good care of this bike. SRK keeps a good stock of well equipped well taken care of used bikes.

Yep, it's water-cooled. Sean, as I said the other day, I love your shop and your marketing plan is awesome. Just a thought though...what about giving the year, discplacement and a few basic details more consistently. Anyhow...I know...everyone's a critic. Just a thought, as I said.

If you're over 6 ft tall this is a better choice than a Goldwing which you will find to be cramped. Also easier to service without acres of plastic panels to remove.

For anyone looking to get this sound, the key is dense fiberglass baffle packing. I've been experimenting with my barons bag slash pipes trying to get that clean sound and packing the baffles will achieve it. The pipes in the video are $150 knockoff Harley pipes by mutazo. Nothing really wrong with that other than you need to get exhaust reducers and you have to do some creative mounting to get them on. If you get the barons bag slash you get a pipe that's made to mount to that bike and you can get the same tone just by packing the baffles. Its a tad more aggressive even. But essentially the exact same tone. Clean, deep, rumble that sounds like a v8 drag car.

I've had my 98 for 14 years, 160,000km, bigfoot air mod, re-jetted, cut all the ugly big tin off, 4 into 4 full length pipes, barnett clutch. No windshield and ditched the grandpa handlebar for a shorter straighter set-up. The old girl still runs 72rwhp on the dyno. Had an 89 vmax and an M109r and the Royal Star is still the best.

This was my second bike; I was 26. My first was a V-Star 650. This bike has around a 6 gal fuel tank. I rode the Royal Star Venture for 30k miles and it was amazing. The motor characteristic was really amazing. Such a smooth bike. Lots of torque, great ride in the interstate and back roads. We spent a lot of time riding it around town and the back roads of Alabama and Florida. I commuted on it to work lots (100 mile round trip). The bike was phenomenal. The Royal Star is more in the league of a Goldwinh regarding the warranty and longevity expectations. It’s not uncommon to have 60-100k miles in these. I sold mine with 55k and the only thing going wrong was some slight clutch slipping, and keep in mind that I rode it hard for the 30k I had it. I’ve regretted selling it and wanted another one for a while. Once the bike gets rollin its quite nimble and so enjoyable to drive. I didn’t find this bike to be much bigger than a Road King. (Side note, this was my favorite bike aside from a Street Glide.).

The motor on these motorcycles is not counterbalance for some reason. It is not the same motor is the one that comes in the Venture. I don’t know what years that affects, but I do know that the Royal star has engineered in vibration. I saw one of these for sale. I am a flipper, strictly low volume. I have owned two Yamaha ventures, an 86 and a 2002.I was interested in having a faringless Venture for myself for a while.. when I took this machine for a ride, I told the owner that I won’t be right back. I told him I need at least a half an hour test ride. So I checked everything out like tire pressures and oil and gas made sure it was insured, and I headed down the road....I thought it was only running on two cylinders.. I have only traveled about a mile down the road trying to figure out if I had the choke on, I pulled over to check to see if all the spark plug wires were on, I check to see if maybe one of the air cleaners was blocked, I actually checked the exhaust to see if one of them was plugged. I checked to see that all carburetors were getting gas.. I turned right around and went back to the owner. I said there’s something wrong with this bike. He said no, that’s the way it was designed to run. It feels different than your Venture because these motors have no counterbalance or’s. The company thought that there are people that would like it to feel like a Harley.. needless to say, I told the guy I can’t buy this bike. He said, I know, that’s why it’s for sale..
This machines non-balanced engine reminds me of this Suzuki 1400 intruder. I worked in a Suzuki shop at the time that machine made its debut. I spoke to a sales rep that actually worked for Suzuki about the engine. They had a little problem with backfiring when they came out. So that’s what we were discussing. The factory rep told me that when Suzuki designed that motor. They wanted it to sort of look and feel like a Harley. They almost gave it that unbalanced feel to the motor that a Harley has, but the engineers said they couldn’t do that and live with themselves, so they actually balanced the motor on the 1400 intruder rather than have it loping and vibrating ..
But it appears that Yamaha took that one extra step with this machine. They purposely made the engine out of balance. This is not the exact same balanced smooth motor as is in the ventures.. keep that in mind if you’re thinking about buying one of these.

I own a 2007 Royal Star Tour Deluxe and yes, folks those pipes sound awesome! Mine has BUB slip ons and sounds just like that. My neighbors hate my azz! LOL. Great bike if you are considering one, go for it. If you are fresh out of a basic motorcycle course and just got your license, don't buy it, master the basics and get some saddle time in a lesser bike. I got mine from a guy who took the MSF basic course and a week after passing it, he bought the bike. He was a green rider with limited newbie skills and on top of it he was 5'7 120lbs soaking wet. He realized it was too much bike for him and being new to riding too much to handle. He owned it a month before selling it to me.

kman 443 year's ago a friend of mine at work that had a super nice fixed up Royal Star encouraged me to get another bike since it had been awhile since I had one and I was craving getting another one, well, I blew their minds, at work, and bought a new Valkyrie and threw on a set of Cobra 6 X 6 and took the baffles out and my friends went wild over the sound and yes sir some of my neighbors hated me too. One let me know he heard me leave one morning before he got up, along with some choice words I won't repeat here. I let him know I idled slowly away. Oh well, at least he was smiling while he let me know I woke him up.🤣 I definitely can relate. Still have that bike with a supercharger on it.

I live in the DC area and have rode mine all over the place from DC. Places like Chicago great lakes area, a week of riding from DC to the Jersey shore then heading south down the coast as far as Savannah GA. They are comfortable all day long.

I’d buy one if I could find it cheap enough. I never see anyone riding them so not like there’s demand for them. I’d give 1500 bucks for one lol 😂

I have one that needs carbs rebuilt, it's not original, I'm just on the fence of fixing it up and parting it out. I absolutely love it, but I'm not a mechanic, so I'm doing it myself with Intel from my pops who is

@@JohnnyRebKy possibility, like I said it's all apart right now, removed headlights and took the carbs off, just gotta rebuild them and customize it probably be one of the best, it was old and not taken care of when I bought it, I rode the smack out of it for 2-3 years and didn't have a problem till after I bought new tires, then the carb went out lol

Walter M yea a carb rebuild is a piece or cake. I’m just looking for something real cheap to enjoy for awhile. I’ve always had Harley’s and I sold my wide glide 3 years ago and took time off due to a back problem. But I want to ride again and don’t really want to spend 10k on a decent Harley. I’m gonna wait until I can buy a new Indian in a few more years. Until then I just wanna enjoy a cheap Japanese cruiser. Buying used Harley’s I’ve always recovered much of my money when I sold them. So I’m not real keen on paying much for a metric and then losing it all when time comes to boy my Indian. Btw...I’m not knocking them it’s just economics. If it was the last bike I ever bought I wouldn’t care about resale value but let’s be honest our current MC is never the last one lol
