I believe you have good knowledge on healthy cookware. Can you please suggest which is healthy for cooking - brass vessel or brass with tin coating inside? Eagerly waiting for your reply
Best vessel, if you ask me, is the mud vessels, which is no.1; second is bronze (venkalam) but its too heavy and its very rarely available now. brass vessel with tin coating is ok but don't use brass vessel with out tin coating inside. Thanks a lot Ms Archana for your interest and eagerness. Have a nice day
SONA SAMAYAL one last doubt please. Can we use the brass with tin coated vessel for cooking curries with tamarind soup or Tomato soup? And can we cook and keep it in same vessel or transfer it to stainless steel vessel.
Very long procedure you can soak it for a day and dry it in the sun for a day then rub in the oil and keep it aside for a day and the vessel is ready to use Shorter method in case of emergency like you want use for pongal festival you can soak for 12 hrs dry it in the sun for 12 hours and rub in the oil and use after an hour correct me if I am wrong mam as this was what taught to me by my late grand mother and my late mother

Hi, nice video. After seasoning it for 5-7 days and if I cook daily in the mud vessel how should I clean it after cooking. Using soft brush and dilute soap will be fine? Please reply I wanted to buy these clay pots
Thanks a lot sister; usually you can clean the mud pot in the normal water with the brush & without any cleaning powder or liquid; once in a while (not often) you can use the cleaning powder used for any other vessel. If its greasy, you can boil the water in the mud vessel and then clean with brush. Thanks a lot sister and have a good day. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Thank u so much. Can we use the brass with tin coated vessel for cooking curries with tamarind soup or Tomato soup (since it bleaches the vessel)? And can we cook and keep it in same vessel or transfer it to stainless steel vessel. Please do reply
Can we use the brass with tin coated vessel for cooking curries with tamarind soup or Tomato soup (since it bleaches the vessel)? Better to avoid those food items which bleaches the vessel; This concept even holds good for iron kadai also. In iron vessels, tamarind and tomatoes can be cooked with less quantity and with less time. But the tamarind and tomato base recipes (like pickle, puli kulambu) should be avoided. And can we cook and keep it in same vessel or transfer it to stainless steel vessel. Please do reply Please transfer once its cooked and don't keep it for long in those vessels; Hope your questions are answered Ms Archana. Have a nice day

5-7 days means everyday/consecutive days ? Do we have to smear oil everytime when not in use (after seasoning) ?
1. sister this process is to be done everyday for 5-7 days; after seasoning you can apply oil once and use it regularly; no need to smear oil every time. If it is not in use, you can dip in the water and keep it once in a while. Keeping the pot immersed in the water, will increase its shelf life. Thanks a lot and have a good day.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

Hi I bought a black mud kadai that's being pre seasoned with coconut oil. Do i need to follow your steps before cooking.. Thanks in advance
We just hear from you that pre seasoned mud vessels are available; However, I suggest that before start using, soak the vessel in water for minimum 2-3 days, to get a better shelf life. Thank you sister; wish you and your family a very happy pongal. Have a good day
