The Indian air force sacked three officers on August 23, 2022, for accidentally firing a supersonic cruise missile into nuclear-armed Pakistan six months back. The unarmed BrahMos surface-to-surface missile landed 125km (78 miles) across the border. It hit an uninhabited civilian area and caused no casualties or damage to property. The BrahMos is one of India’s frontline nuclear-capable projectiles and considered to be among the world’s fastest cruise missiles.

Hard to say if this was really a mistake or just cover up. Firing missile is not something 3 person can do by their own without through many layers of confirmation and safety protocol. Make no mistake there are many more process involved before someone could press on that firing button.

This is almost like taking out your gun from its holster, unlocking the safety, aiming at a person's head, pulling the trigger only to find that it's not loaded, and then apologizing to that person saying it's all a mistake. Only much much worse.

I am Indian and I do not believe this was an accident at all. This was likely a test of their defenses and done intentionally. Our Bramhos missiles cannot be launched accidentally, like any other countries there are multiple layers of security on such strategic weapons. I am glad that we are taking responsibility for the incident, we don't need another war.

That's not maturity, that's a failure by pak's air defence system, and atleast even if they detected that missile, they knew that missile wasn't carrying nuclear warhead, because India is a signatory of no first use policy.. But if Pak even misfires a missile, and we detect it all the missiles from our side will be launched to pak, because pak is not a signatory of no first use policy..

How do you accidentally fire a cruise missile into a neighbouring country? Isn't there safety protocols and fail-safe procedures? Really don't understand this. If your mobile network goes down for 1 hour there will be an uproar and fail-safe and redundancy built for it to not happen. Thus can't understand why there is no such protocols for a missile. This was not a mistake. You can't possibly mistakenly fire missiles cause they have a complicated set of setup procedures.
Those officers must have done it intentionally or at least went through the process but planned on killing it before the final step but one of them then mistakenly hit the last key.
Here in India , presently Hardline hindu nationalist goverment is ruling. So may be they have done it intensionaly.

I can tell you this was not mistake, every time when DRDO tests new missile we ask them to fire one in Pakistans direction 😂 . This time the officers took it seriously and fired one at them. The thing is Pakistan could not shoot it down, that explains Chinese system can't do anything against brahmos in real war time.
A normal response wouldnt be shooting it down. It would be firing nuclear missles back. No anti missle system cN stop a nuclear attck because of the proximity of the two countries u clown.

A supersonic missile capable of carrying a nuke cannot be launched by a single button. There are multiple layers of safety and no single person has full command. This was an intentional firing of the missile by India.
Pakistan recently installed a Chinese missile defense system. India tested the Chinese defense system by intentionally firing a cruise missile into Pakistan. The Chinese missile defense system failed miserably. Pakistan didn't even know about this missile. An Indian missile traveled 80 km deep into Pakistani territory and did maneuvers in mid-air, destroyed a building and the Pakistan military was simply clueless about everything. It was India that first informed Pakistan about the "accidental" fire. LOL
India tried to blame this on a software malfunction. So, a software malfunction would launch a missile into Pakistan and the missile would hit an empty building located in the middle of nowhere? 3 officers were fired but nobody knows their names. lol

A software glitch can't simply fire a missile. Military systems are made differently. They are based on older technologies that can't be hacked and require manual intervention.
And the Brahmos missile had no payload. You expect your missiles to be in a war-ready situation but this missile was just a decoy.
Plus, India accidentally fired a missile just right after Pakistan installed a new Chinese defense system. What are the odds here?
And the missile had to travel in Pakistan only? This has to be a coincidence of coincidences. lol
India did this intentionally to test if the Chinese defense system can intercept Brahmos. This was a test launch and the test was successful.

missile interceptor do not fire on incoming missile that miss. The reason is because the missile interceptor is not cheap and if it intercept every incoming missile then it is easy for enemy to spoof this interceptor into depleting its ammunition, and that will cost the defender a lot of money.

I am happy that liability is being held. It should be an example for some countries whose satellites just crash anywhere and liability is not being held. I am from India and I think Pakistan also tried to get into Indian Ocean and they also said it happens accidentally. So firing a missile accidentally don't mean anything here.
