The party was amazing Auntie B..it was an honour to be a part of the Obodofam crew who came out to celebrate with you. The Decor..and ambience amazing and food was so yummy. Can I also appluad the people at the bar the lady in blue dress was sooo lovely and served all night with a smile on her face. Congratulations again lady B my village bro did wedding for his daughter in London invites were sent out months before the party and they were asked to RSVP but some people didn’t and they just showed up on the day but alas they were not allowed into the hall people were really angry but there is nothing they can do it was the youths at the the door who were very firm with their decisions. It is high time Nigerians learns to honour invitations and follow the protocol. You did well and you are beautiful on your day. God bless your family.

When my son celebrated his birthday party recently. I only invited people who he knew and childhood friends only and he really enjoyed it.

Some of our people love to flaunt rules especially when it comes party. I don't go to parties that am not personally invited to. Thank God everything went well last last.
Aunty B you are truly my kind of person I am with you all the way when it comes to planing the party ahead. I celebrated my husband’s 50th 6 years ago I started 12 months before that and everything went smoothly like a well oiled machine, everyone had a great time. The key is to plan ahead and hope everything went well. I am happy for you and your family it look like a well planned party 🎊.

I’m glad you had fun which is the most important thing! I celebrated my baby’s first birthday and thanksgiving party last week. Plus my husband and I’s 51st as in just to throw it in there anonymously - A lot to celebrate. We did it just as a cookout and we ended up spending well into thousands of dollars. I didn’t realize that parties are now so expensive! Just the balloon decor was almost 1K!!!!! My baby ain’t having any party till his wedding! Ki lo de?!!!! Things are ridiculously expensive these days! The last major party I had I guess was my wedding so I guess I lost touch with stuff!

Congratulations sis B! Your party looked classy and fabulous! I celebrated my 50th as well this June. The planning and especially RSVP with our people was the same issue. I had a venue that did the catering and drinks as well, so the numbers was crucial. I had so much fun and happy to have celebrated. I also lost my childhood friend some few weeks prior to my party. I spoke to her few hours before her passing and that very much motivated me to celebrate my life.

That was how I organised my 50th last year with just 25 guest. I had a lot of close people to invite but I just wanted to have a small intimate party so I invited the number that the center could allow. That was how my 2 guests waited till a day before the party after they initial confirmed their attendance, to tell me that they are no longer coming. So you had to wait till today when I have people who got offended that I did not invite them?. If they had told me earlier shebi I would have replaced them with other people. It was so annoying.

When I did my son’s wedding last October; it was seamless because I’m not a last minute person, we started planning on time with my daughter’s expertise as an event planner makes it more successful. Everything went like a breeze 😀 After the wedding I was asking are we done? Is the wedding over?😃 Because I didn’t feel any stress at all. I had people assigned to every stage needed. If everyone can be firm as you did, maybe our people will start learning their lessons.

I am laughing so hard as you narrate. I know you’re speaking from your experience as a Nigerian, but trust me, I believe it’s an African thing. Have gone through it too. 😄 We (Africans/black) don’t respect the rules of the game. We don’t RSVP and don’t respect time. People RSVP’d and didn’t show up (almost fifty) or call ahead so someone else can be accorded the space. A few who RSVP’d ‘single’ came with a partner.🙆🏽♀️😆 Our people! 😂😂 I fully understand what you’re saying, I had a similar experience.
