  • A 6 week timelapse showing how to turn a potted up small-leaf pomegranate (punica granatum nana) into a young shohin bonsai.
    Starting with a regular garden centre plant (Or, in this case, a established rooted cutting) and pruning as well as wiring the plant out to become a bonsai. Then repotting into a bonsai pot, waiting 6 weeks and giving the tree a prune back. And of course.. A suggestion what to do with the removes branches (Growing pomegranate from cuttings is possible!)

    Yet another master piece in the making! Great video Jelle, but when do we get your voice back guiding us through the work?

      @@GrowingBonsai that is absurd. The only thing you say is information that is needed to learn from. People are crazy.

    (Your cuttings are 2-3 times thicker than my 2 years old sidelines! 🤦🏻‍♂️)

    Hi , lovely video, but wouldn’t have the heart to cut off that lovely little flower. I keep my pomegranate tree in a back room which is unheated. Would that be okay over winter?

    • @GrowingBonsai

      that should be fine!

    That shot near the end of the tree with scissors seemed like a threat to the tree. "Behave and grow well, or this top is coming off!"

      Do you think it worked? Will it grow better?

      @@GrowingBonsai Well, with how it screamed, "NOOOO!!!" when you cut off that low branch, I think it's pretty intimidated now. So, maybe?

      @@abydosianchulac2 haha, honest mistake, cutting that branch. I just wanted to remove the dead part!

    Another great informative video and another example of a tree that I need to add to my small collection. How tolerant are they of the cold Jelle?

    • @GrowingBonsai
      @GrowingBonsai  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have been told they should not get too much frost. I protect it from temps < -5c when i think of it therefor

    Great video. Do the cuttings really take that easily? My son has a pomegranate- I might need to persuade him to take a few for me. Keep posting the vids - they’re really interesting and informative. Thank you.

    • @GrowingBonsai
      @GrowingBonsai  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes they do. The plant in the video was a cutting taken in spring!

    Hi Yelle, where do have your Pomegranate trees in winter? Cold room or inside warm?

    • @GrowingBonsai
      @GrowingBonsai  ปีที่แล้ว

      They are outside, but protected from deep frost (shed if it really freezes)
