    I am 61 and now on a fixed income. Some of my lights went out this year and I already had Lightkeeper Pro but I didn't know how to use it and never tried it before. I went to the TH-cam presentation above. I went out and used the 'shunt juicer' (my term) and whaa-laa! The lights came back on! I found the bad bulb; replaced it and now it's like I have brand new lights. It even fixed a wreath I have. Thanks to the inventor!

    Just bought this at target as a last resort to fix our pre-lit tree, instructions were pretty poor but this video was perfect. Fixed 3 strands on our tree in a couple minutes time! It Works!
    Thank You!

    I bought this unit last year, because my pre-lit tree was having major issues. I figured, what could I lose? Well, i have to say this Lightkeeper Pro saved me the continued frustration, it worked like a champ. This year I took out the tree, and half the lights were out in each of the 4 sections. Followed the instructions, and all the sections were fixed in minutes, not hours!!! I found over 30 bulbs out on my tree, so I would have been there for hours trying to fix the tree. IT WORKS!!!

    I bought this item during the Christmas season at Target. I was alittle confused at first until I watched this video - then it answered all of my questions. I rescued several failing lights - they all worked now thanks to this product. I also fixed my neighbors icicle light set that partially worked (it was already hung on his roof) -- I'm his Hero now. Thank you for this great product :-)

    I was skeptical but I use a lot of Christmas lights and usually just throw them out at the end of a season because they just don't last. So I decided to try this product. (1) It WORKS! (2) Using it could not be easier. Best money I've spent in a long time!

    I was irritated tonight when I put up my tree and found sections of lights out. I went to the local Walgreens at 9:20 pm and found your LightKeeper Pro there after I had found this video. I bought it making darn sure I would be able to return it If it didn't work. I came home, pulled out a bulb, put the empty socket in the gun thingy, pulled the trigger a few times and now the tree that had four sections of lights out is fully lit and it worked MARVELOUSLY!
    PS I won't be returning it! :)

    I am so thrilled with your product. I looked at this last year and my thought was "yeah, right, that will work." Didn't buy it. This year, I purchased when it went on sale at my local Ace Hardware....Unbelievable! It fixed everything. I am a Christmas fanatic.....and this product has kept me sane! I want to walk around the neighborhood and "fix" everybodys lights....Thank You for an amazing gadget. This product pays for itself...Happy Holidays!

  • @LightKeeperProTool
    @LightKeeperProTool  13 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @starguard Actually, the LightKeeper Pro is safe! The little electrical pulse is only meant to burn that oxide coating off in the light bulb which is not powerful enough to hurt anyone. The anticipation would probably scare you more than the actual feeling of the pulse. However, like any tool, we suggest that the directions are read thoroughly and the LightKeeper Pro is used accurately.

    This gadget is amazing!! I highly recommend it. I see a few comments where some people couldn't get their lights to work. Something must be wrong with the string other than dead bulbs. This thing worked on all my strings that had bad bulbs. The only thing I would change on this thing is that it runs on button cells. It would be much better if it ran on common AA or AAA so we could use be green and use rechargables!

    What if there is more than one light out? Will it fix multiple shunts? Is there enough battery power to do that?

  • @LightKeeperProTool
    @LightKeeperProTool  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @dya76tube Actually the LED Keeper will continue to be a separate product from the LightKeeper Pro. So each will still be required for each type of set (LED vs Incandescent). In other words, the LightKeeper Pro will still only fix incandescent miniature light sets and the LED Keeper will only fix LED light sets.
    Merry Christmas to you as well from all of us here and have a safe and happy new year!

    The LightKeeper's Quick Fix Trigger is not designed for Lightsets with Control Boxes. The pulse is stopped by the control Box. You may be able to use the Voltage Detector if you set the fuction to steady on and scan the bulbs that are our to find the point of current interuption.

    @Lorddarthvader1701 @Lorddarthvader1701 The LightKeeper Pro's continuity tester will beep even if the lights are not lit. This is because the continuity tester senses 120V in the set which is a good thing. From this, you know that your light set's issue isn't the fuse. Just because the lights are unlit, does not mean they aren't working and there isn't electricity present. This continuity tester does not work on working light sets, which is why is does not beep on the lit bulbs. (888-ULTA-LIT)

    got one! fixed 2 sections on a decorated tree - probably need to go to Step 2 to solve the remaining section but too many decorations.....
    What I want to know is "Where is the fuse?" - they reference it and show testing but I haven't discovered one yet

    • @LightKeeperProTool
      @LightKeeperProTool  11 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Anna MirMorOne,
      The fuse is typically the last resort. We try to let people know that it is rarely the fuses that cause the set to be out -- Fuses get blown when too many light sets are strung together. For a pre-lit tree, that probably is not the case. The fuses are located in the male plug of your light set commonly. They are quite fragile, so we recommend to be cautious as pulling them out and placing them back in. Sometimes when the fuses are tested, they blow after testing or are placed within their compartment incorrectly and this just adds to the problems we are attempting to fix.
      Yes, please begin using the Audible Voltage Detector if you have already completed the Quick Fix Trigger. You can see our short Audible Voltage Detector Instructional Video, along with our Pre-Lit Tree Repair video on the LightKeeper Pro's website under the Instructional Video Tab at the top of the site. Before getting back to work, viewing these videos may assist in cutting down your repair time and providing some additional tips. Happy Decorating!

    Ok I tried this little dilly on a bad section of pre-lit garland and nothing, the pulse thing did not do anything for me, the continuity test portion beeps where there are no lights on but does not where there are lights, what gives. i think it's great for checking bulbs and that seems to be all.

    have a lightkeeper but have a strand that is giving me a problem. I found the offending bulb with the quick method and replaced after the quick fix didn't work. scanned the whole stand, it beeps from end to end. And not a fuse as I was able to light a set with it. But still not working. Anything else I can try?

  • @ceekayel
    @ceekayel 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    The sensor beeping along the wire seems to have nothing to do with whether the section is lit or not. Perhaps there is a sensitivity adjustment but mine doesn't work like it should.

  • @Lorddarthvader1701
    @Lorddarthvader1701 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @LightKeeperPro Ok, weird, I stand corrected, I tested the pulse again and it worked on some other lights, the garland set blinked a couple of bulbs but no fix, I am going to work on this section later on the bench, it's now personal and I love a challenge. The beeps happen when there are lights and also when there are not, no pattern with this garland set, very strange.

    Did not work for me well. Using the shunt reset causes the bulbs to flicker briefly but they never stayed on. I pressed the trigger about 30-40 times. Using the continuity checker proved to be hit and miss for me. It would beep in one spot, beep on another and if I went back to a spot where it beeped it would not beep. Or sometimes yes, sometimes no. I'm glad everyone who has had success with this is happy but I can't really endorse the product.

    • @LightKeeperProTool
      @LightKeeperProTool  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Bill, we have a couple recommendations to help: 1) Those bulbs that are flickering when you use the Quick Fix Method are actually the ones that the LightKeeper Pro is trying to repair. If that seems to be most or all of the bulbs, that is very likely as it depends how old the light set is, manufacturing, maintenance put into the light set, use, etc. 2) Check out our Audible Voltage Detector video on our website under the Instructional Videos tab to become more familiar with this feature -- and additionally, we have a pre-lit tree repair video and a 40 min video that goes over other specific light sets such as icicle, net lights, and outdoor wire frames. 3) We have technicians on staff that are here 7 days a week between Thanksgiving and Christmas, please give us a call for more specific support at your convenience -- 888-858-2548.

      Sounds like your light set experienced a Cascade Failure which is not a result of the tool. We're here and happy to help but the only resolve for such an issue is to replace all of the bulbs in that section as they have little to no life left in them. How does LightKeeper Pro work on a lighted wreath where the strands are twisted around branches? My first string of lights are unlighted and I've checked each bulb and the fuses in the plug end.

    • @LightKeeperProTool
      @LightKeeperProTool  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can approach a pre-lit wreath just as you would any light set that is not working. You will stay focused on the unlit section only when using the tool. Does your light set have any blackened bulbs in it? If not, then we can help. You'll begin with the Quick Fix method in that unlit section, then move on to the Audible Voltage Detector if your set does not contain a Shunt issue. You can learn more about those two features on our website through our instructional video tab. The fuses are rarely ever the issue -- they only blow when you have too many sets plugged in end-to-end and that would not be the case here on this pre-lit wreath. Remember that it may not be the bulb itself -- even thought you've checked all the bulbs and the bulbs themselves may work in the bulb tester, we need to check the bulb wires to ensure they are both of equal length and long enough -- one isn't twisted to the side or bent; then visually check the socket to ensure the two metal contacts are evenly aligned and there is no corrosion within the socket. If more assistance is needed or you have any further questions, please call us at 888-858-2548 to speak to a technician. Happy holidays.

    • @LightKeeperProTool
      @LightKeeperProTool  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      John Butler
      Yes, the following still applies -- they might be just long enough to work in the bulb tester, but not long enough to work in the socket and make proper contact. The Quick Fix does not need to be repeated in each socket. Give us a call if you have any other questions or check out our instructional videos on our website as they have been recently updated. Take care.

    Is it possible the continuity detector does not work on my tool? When I push the button, the LED light does not come on and no beeping occurs whether it's next to lights that are on or lights that are not on. I have reversed the plug to the lights and I have changed the batteries in the lightkeeper pro tool. The bulb tester works.
