My best tip to making many cards with one design is to get my friend to help me and do 1/2 the work!!!!!! 🙃 But I love these and maybe I could even do these by myself pretty quickly!! 😬 LOVE THE WRITTEN NOTECARD TOO! Makes it easier to remember what the main idea of your video is! THANK YOU!! You are the BEST!!!😘
I found a lady named Natalie that sounds like she’s in the UK that I can’t stop watching. She does videos everyday and never runs out of ideas for Clean And Simple cards. Well she made a “tool” called a smoother and that thing is AMAZING ! i made 5 but haven’t had a chance to use it yet. But instead of having so much water on your panels that it just runs from one side to the other, it rather controls it a bit. She also likes doing simple shape cards like circles or squares. I find most of the time I would add more to the card and definitely place the sentiment somewhere else, but I really recommend you go to her playlist and look for how to make a smoother or any smoother video and see how well that works! I am positive you will love it and no taping and no running , dripping soaked paper. Her channel is NB Cards. lovely lady.
I always think “next year i will make a simple card!” And then i don’t!! 😂. I love your cards and will aspire to keep it simple next year (make a little over 70 cards). Thanks for continually inspiring us. Merry Christmas!
No one says you have to keep it simple! lol! I think there's a time for super simple, but I also love complex, time-consuming designs! Thanks so much for watching!
I am surprised how nicely those backgrounds turned out! They honestly weren’t my favorite color at all. But stunning in the end! I have to get started on mine very soon. I need to send yours and another out a month early .
You always give such great tips on keeping things simple, but yet the results are beautiful. A simple die-cut can really steal the show. Thanks, Ardyth, for sharing your creative shortcuts!
You make such nice, clean and simple cards that pack a punch! Love these! I'm still figuring out how to speed up my cardmaking process!! It always takes me so so so much longer than I think it's going to take! TFS!
Really beautiful cards! I love the panel being slightly smaller than the card base because it’s so hard to get it to match exactly and I end up having to trim the entire assembled card with my guillotine cutter because the panel doesn’t line up exactly with my card base.
Good reminder that cards don't always have to be complex to be beautiful. Thanks, Ardyth. Thank you, also, for showing your paper cutter. I purchased mine about a year ago after watching one of your videos and have never regretted the expenditure. I occasionally use my smaller guillotine trimmer or one of those plastic cutters with the slide cut thingy that needs to be replaced often, but my workhorse is the Dahle like yours. All my cuts are exact thanks to the moveable bar. It's such a rewarding feeling to cut all my panels for a project (like card bases or layers) and they are all the same.
@@suetownsend1932 I remember that I thought the cutter was expensive when I bought it more than 10 years ago, but I have never regretted it. I think investing in basic tools like that is never a mistake. That's my $14.99 sweater from Costco! lol! Yes it is super cozy! I wish it came in more colours that I like... (they had cream, but that's a no-go in the craft room!)
I always enjoy watching your videos and learning from your card making techniques! Pretty Christmas cards! Thanks for the time you put into teaching us!
Hi Ardyth. I loved watching your "recipe". I too try to keep it simple and I find that succcess for me means completing each step before moving on and then it's easy to know what step I'm at. Thanks so much for another great video. ❤ 🇨🇦 😊
This is my recipe for 2 of my 4 Christmas cards this year! one is red/green Christmas paper with metallic JOY die cut, one is blue and silver Snowflake. The other 2 are much more intricate with lots of die cutting -- mistletoe (each of 4 branches is cut separately) and berries and the other is a pine branch with 3 hanging balls. I love the look of them bur I will NOT be doing them again in bulk. Your 3 ingredient recipe is definitely the way to go! 💛😊 I love the stained glass one best.
Haha! There's definitely a time for fiddly cards - I do enjoy them, but there's also a time for quick, no-fail, get'em done! Thanks for watching, Melissa!
Great tips and cards! I definitely batch each step as I go, and try out a few versions before committing. That way I know if a die is too fussy, color choices need tweaking etc. 🧑🏼🎨😀
I loved your use of the gold dots when you were working with Tim’s Holiday blocks set. You used Gina’s Lots of Dots die set but every where I look it’s out of stock. I guess I will have to improvise another way to do this but I loved it.
Take a look in your stash, maybe you have something like a coverplate that cuts some circles, or a party hat die that cuts dots. I have made a list of all my dies that cut dots so I have a selection of sizes, but that Lots of Dots is probably the best one for creating embellishments. Gina K has it in stock in her store. Good luck!
@ I had looked earlier this week at Gina’s site and SSS and they were not available. I even signed up for notification. I just ordered the Lots of dots and a couple of other things before her new release on Tuesday so hopefully I will get it soon. Thanks!
I love these cards. I would not attempt the whole water process one, but would probably use a paper that had a similar variation of the yellow colors. For me the water process was too messy.
It's a Dahle 550. I bought it about 15 years ago from an office supply company in Canada. I have seen it on Amazon as well. Good luck and thanks for watching!
Fabulous ideas! Ardyth, what glue was that you used to adhere the stain glass panel? Have you tried using waxed paper to sandwich between your intricate die and cardstock? That may help you to avoid having to pierce out all the little pieces. But you'd probably go through a lot with 28 cards. 😅 Thank you for the video!
That was Bearly Art glue - the fine tip is really good at putting down small dots. I have not tried waxed paper - I did try a dryer sheet recently - do not recommend! lol! Very sticky. Thanks for sharing that tip - I'll give it a try!
I did too. The blue mat can not be directly on the rollers, so you need something on the 'outside' of the sandwich. I'm using a green double-sided gemini jr mat - no idea if they're even still around - my plan is to use probably a doubled-up piece of thick cardstock as a shim to protect the surface of the blue mat. Thanks for watching!
@@ardythso a double sided plate on top and double card stock shim on bottom? I do have a double sided plate and the I-Crafter plate came with 3 plastic shims. Thank you for quick reply. I enjoy your videos!
@@jkaboo Thanks! Sorry, I wasn't clear. My current sandwich (bottom to top): double sided plate, i-Crafter plate, cardstock, die, clear Gemini Jr cutting plate on top.
