Raag Miyan ki Todi - Karam Abbas Khan

Gwalior gharana exponent, Karam Abbas Khan renders a khayal in the dignified morning raag Miyan ki Todi. This khadav-sampuran (hexatonic in ascent- heptatonic in descent) raag is a prominent raag of the Todi family and is alleged to be a creation of Miyan Tansen.
Son of noted vocalist, Ustad Ahmed Ali Khan, Karam Abbas Khan is an established representative of the style. His Gwalior foundations show ably in his taan tayyari, bol baant and lai kaari. He is accompanied by his son, Ali Ahmed Khan on supporting vocals, Irfan Haider on tabla, Muhammad Hayat on harmonium & Gul Muhammad on sarangi.
