  • Onboard the semi-fast service to Edinburgh, only as far as Newcastle. We called at Peterborough, Newark North Gate, Doncaster, York, Northallerton, Darlington, Durham and Newcastle.
    We got a slight delay at towards Peterborough due to a signal fault and due to congestion along the line, we had a slow approach into Peterborough.
    Overall, a great journey and nothing to complain at.

      The UK actually has a great friendship with Japan on train engineering. Most of our new trains are from Hitachi, this one is the あずま! :-) I can't wait to ride on a Shinkansen when Japan is open again!

      Thank you aritheory-san (さん=Mr, or Ms)
      I was nearly killed by covid-19 about 5 weeks ago. I'm fine now, hoping the disappearance of the dreadful disease.
      Then eager for welcoming the foreign guests to enjoy japan's sights, culture, cuisine, deer feeding at Nara Park :)
      For me loving ramen(pork broth soup) and gyo-za, yaki-tori (grilled chicken), takoyaki, sushi........etc.
      I also look forward to getting on AZUMA(あずま) and enjoying the English cuisine and tea served at the 1st class,
      and going to the Railway Museum at York, I respect the UK especially as the place of origin of railways.

      @@Number-tv2uf 初めまして! I'm glad you beat it! When you do come to England, make sure you visit the London Transport Museum, try the Elizabeth line (it's finally opening!) and try and ride one of the heritage steam railways, they're a lot of fun :) Afternoon tea at the Langham Hotel in London is a good idea too! おだいじに!

      @@aritheory Thanks for your reply of "おだいじに!" and also nice to meet you "おはつです".
      Its an informal and friendly usage of "初めまして" , that is not a slang though.
      I like to try brand new the Elizabeth line and enjoy the afternoon tea Asap as well, soon after things becoming well !
      I love to get on the Flying Scottsman that may be the fastest train from Edinburgh by NLER.

    Maybe hairline crack is caused from customized for UK.
    All Japanese bullet train's yaw damper is mounted directly to body.
    UK carriage limit is not large as Japan or East Asia so Hitachi must mount via lifting point bar.

    But class 395 is not affected.
    I compared Class800 family , Class 385 and Class 395 lifting point bar.

    • @2011pendolino
      @2011pendolino  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They do but I have no objections to them... unfortunately down to the new DfT spec. The Greater Anglia FLIRT trains are some of the best around in terms of new seating and passenger comfort... love them!! Hopefully go out when restrictions lifted

    • @ChilternSam
      @ChilternSam 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pook2830 I don’t suppose you have seen the quality of new British builds/conversions then. The British built Electrostar and Turbostar fleet don’t exactly have much better ride quality than these, if you’re pedantic about it. I’m sure also you’re aware about the Alstom 175/185s which were built in Britain? Even these were assembled in the UK, and some of the panels are already coming loose on GWRs 802 variants. Your idealised view of British manufacturing superiority is not exactly the case. We are in different times and technology is different. Some are better than others and it really does not depend on whether they’re “foreign” or not. Swiss built 745/755s are an ergonomic dream in many ways.

    • @pook2830
      @pook2830 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChilternSam I merely said that Azumas don't seem as comfortable as Mk4s, and that the foreign units are soulless... which they are. I don't recall commenting upon British manufacturing superiority. You appear to have assumed that for some reason.

    • @ChilternSam
      @ChilternSam 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pook2830 Rather interesting that there’s no comparison to Mk4s in your original comment, and the mere comment you made was “Soul less foreign multiple units”, which really does imply that you’re another person falling for the fantasised idea that British rolling stock, to which large parts of the AT300s are, is superior to all else.
