    The gps says 20 but your mind thinks 75!

    Saw this posted on the Micro Skiff Facebook page. Looks absolutely killer! I have a solo skiff right now eith a 6hp Merc. It use to run about 15 mph with just a PowerPole Micro on it. I've since added a trolling motor, 50ah LiFePo battery, and two Nocqua 10ah batteries. If I was ready to upgrade now, I would 100% buy this boat! Maybe one day!

    Absolutely love it? 2 Questions:
    1) Have you considered adding a bigger version, like 12.5', that you could hang a 25HP on?
    2) Have you thought about foil assist--not flying, just lifting a bit?

    Great looking boat. Where did you get your grab bar and tiller extension. I need to get those for my micro-skiff I built.

    Great design. add another foot to the stern sponsons at the waterline and you'll find the boat faster and less sensitive to fore and aft weight changes

      Then add another ft for more performance. Cats always benefit from extra length. You have to target length for ease of stowage when not in use.

    What speeds are you seeing if you run this with two guys on it?

    • @ripwaveboats29
      @ripwaveboats29  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Depends on the guys an engine. This particular setup with a 8hp and two 190lb guys slows down to 14-`15mph

    Two cut down catamaran hulls, a fibreglass hard ute cover cut to size for the centre, a cheap small outboard and a bit of fibreglass work I recon I could have one of these going on the water for well under $1k. How much was this one?

    • @JohnFrumFromAmerica
      @JohnFrumFromAmerica 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am thinking about this also the thing you might have trouble with is hull volume. Small sailing catamarans have very low hull volume so it won't be able to carry much weight. In addition it's not designed to carry weight aft. I think the solution is to use a bigger 16ft catamaran and mover the motor more forward to get a better balance.

    • @ripwaveboats29
      @ripwaveboats29  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Any sailboat cat hulls will have terrible floatation and next to zero performance with outboards. Heavily overlooked is having no chines which will leave you soaked... I have been there and done that.

      @@ripwaveboats29 I'm gonna put lizzo there instead. Also love your website and product, but it's just a bit too expensive for me right now. I seriously would buy if I lived closer to the ocean, but the mercury outboard canoe will have to do. Best of wishes, they look great!!

      Dude I am literally about to start building a boat like this. I searched TH-cam quite a bit for something like this but there really isn’t anything like a catamaran style micro skiff. Curious what the beam, draft, and hull height is on that thing?

    For your 10ft skiff was that polystyrene of Polyurethane foam?

      @@ripwaveboats29 Awesome thanks. I want to build my own kayak and your CAD / CNC approach looks like a really good way to do it. Any specific reason you chose polystyrene instead of polyurethane (surfboard foam)? And will just any polystyrene work or do you need a higher density for structural integrity?
