Newfoundland has a lot going for it naturally, but the weather is an acquired taste. You need to embrace it to really enjoy the outdoors; easier said than done. If you’re there for the long haul, look into acquiring a tiny piece of rented crown land, I think it’s only $2000 total (then $200 per year for rent) or something similar and you can build a small woods cabin. Get an old used snow mobile to get out there and away you go :) outdoor adventures. I think the cost of living there makes it well worth it.
