You can see this because there will be explosions coming from the phantom as each rocket salvo hits. After the phantoms are gone, the rest of the enemies should flee. Hope this helps. If so, can you leave a like so people who want an even safer strategy will see this?
You can also just use the main gun. That's what I did and with throttling all the way back I was never shot. I destroyed 1 phantom and then dove back down to the surface.

However, they do NOT attempt to dodge plasma RIFLE shots. When I found this out, killing the focus rifle elite and the one next to him became much easier, since they just stood there eating my plasma rifle instead of dodging a bunch, which made killing them much easier.

Just an FYI to anyone who may need it, If you get to the bridge room and don't get the desired spawns, you can do the save/quit thing (your checkpoint should be right outside the door). When you resume, it will reset the spawn locations and allow you to choose if you want to proceed. Thanks for doing these, man. Just finished this one in the playlist and I'm waiting for your next vid to do my least favorite mission, Exodus. Keep it up!
I dont think the mission would be possible if they didnt not conventionally anyway . I already think mythic (increased health) mixed with blind makes laso unrealistically hard. Due to the fact you HAVE to play in a set way / cheat because there just straight up isnt enough ammo period to even break a few elites sheilds on any one mission. Its purly wait for invincible ai to kill sheilds and 1 shot everyone ....
I just love how the checkpoint put me when I'm spiraling out of control and going to die at the section where you're supposed to blow up the engines of the Covenant ship. Damn I love this game.
So following my comment a few minutes ago, I just completed all the space segments with no deaths. From the seraph and banshee section through to the phantom section, I just hid behind anchor 9 for around ten minutes. The corvette part was then really manageable. Pleasantly surprised with how easy this was following my legendary solo play through. Thanks 🙏🏻
I was dreading this level but with your strats it was easier for me because all I did was hide like a coward. Didn’t die at all in the space section. Love the videos! Major help
I died in the last area and didnt save and quit fast enough and had to start over I was so mad. But I finished the level today so I feel a lot better now lol
@@shinyshirthero Does what work for both parts? In coop you get sent back to the last checkpoint so you do not want to save and exit. Doing so would restart the level upon trying to resume (at least in local coop as far as I am aware). I haven't tried LASO in coop but that is how it handles missions in mission select for local coop. It might work for online but I'm not sure.
One thing I did differently is that in the end room (Room w/ pelican and george where you have to defend) is to jump into the pelican turret (There is an achievement related to this if you don't know about it) and look straight up, look left and right, then straight down and the camera will "fix" and you'll be able to see where you are shooting. You will not take any damage at all inside the pelican and will be able to shoot most of the enemies
For me one annoying marine always decided to kick the ranger elite in the first moment you board the ship and accidentally fell down to alert the other elites.
the pelican turret was destroyed before I could even touch it. this game loves raking me over the coals. i had to hide under the platforms for the first 2 elites and wait for them to fall off from throwing grenades at jorge to assassinate them, then hid in the room leading to the bridge and waited to keep assassinating the last 4 elites as they targeted jorge. mission time was over 2 hours
Slight improvement to the barricade part at 36:18, basically do everything u did in the video but also block the door coming into the control room so the enemies are basically trapped in a tiny area if the hallway, then u can get at a certain angle so the elits head is poking out u can pepper him with the plasma pistol then 1 shit him with a needler, now on my play through that set of a chain reaction of explosions but if not chuck a grenade there to kill the rest
Wow honestly of all the missions in Reach this was the one I was the most worried about. Honestly was not as bad as I thought it'd be. A pain to be sure, but not as bad as I thought it'd be.
No missions in reach (or any game after 2) will be as bad as truth and rec, library, two betrayals, cairo station, regret and gravemind. This is probably close behind along with coastal highway, the covenant, and cortana. I don't know halo 4 well enough to say which missions would be hard there, probably midnight?
I've had two major problems if someone could give advice. 1. After the first wave of serephs spawn if I try to fight out in the open I die, if I hide behind anchor 9 then all my allies ships die and I have to take down like 3 serephs by myself which takes forever. 2. I was in the last room of the mission, all the waves of spawns that take time like in the video spawned immediately for me. I tried to get into the pelican turret like 15 times and I couldn't. I don't know if it's super sensitive or if it was destroyed or something. I would save and quit then relaunch right before I was about to die to try again. After like 15 attempts I saved and quit as usual and it restarted the mission. Now I have to do the whole mission again. The worst part for me is the space part. It takes forever and all my allies die before I can kill the first wave of serephs. Edit: btw Halo Completionist, you're amazing and thank you so much for these tutorials
Alright I finally beat it. The first problem my solution was to actually go out there and deal with the serephs immediately and dont hide. If you take fire then just do an up or down evasive manuever and youll be fine. The second problem I'm not sure what happened the first time, the turret must have been destroyed. I got it working this time and sat in it for like 15 minutes as i spam fired all the elites and killed them all.
@Mithayus Diaz I ended up messing up the save and reload glitch and restarted the entire mission. I don't think there is anything you can do if it's destroyed. Either play carefully in the hallway and follow exactly what the Halo Completionist says or restart the whole mission
-at 28:38 for some reason i ended up with 3 marines. If that happend to you don't worry kill all of them, there will be no consequences even though the 3rd one will turn hostile towards you. -The general takes more than 2 hits with the sword be aware! (mabey 3 to 4 hits), I found the aggressive approach is doable and better than keep reloading to get the stealth kills -Using the plasma rifle instead of the plasma pistol helped me alot thanks for the commints -Be aware, at 43:35 this room has a kill zone timer! don't stay there for long time. Thank you silver, Perfect guide as always!
Reach LASO was the best weekly challenges back on 360 first LASO I attempted and completed MCC comes out and nearly got them H1 and H2 done so plain sailing now
I love the space combat, but I can't even do it on regular legendary, nevermind LASO. The corvette section itself in particular took me 7 hours to get through, because you spawn out in the open with 8 seraphs in the distance that seem to have a crazy aggro range and hit you from every direction. I can't even fly far enough out to hit from below, either. I get shot far before I ever get to that point.
In the refueling room: My first time there was 1 Grunt. the second run, 1 as well. But after I died, saved and quit, there were none. Made it super simple to smack the invisible ones first and the General last. Though when you smack him, do a full assassination. I often smacked him only to have him turn around :/ Long story short, the RNG isn't permanent. Milk it for what its worth.
I killed everyone in the Corvette control room of sorts, and I was so gassed, I pressed the button. Sadly, I looked at Silver's video afterwards, so I didn't set the boxes. I'm regretting this decision as one of the worst I've made
I do not recommend following the rocket launcher advise. It simply is too random whether thats going to work. The two elites do not stay by the control panel very long at all and once they move, the rocket is useless because they will sidestep your rockets every time. Bring a plasma pistol. Dont take too long to either die or kill those elites because the game will begin the next objective and checkpoint you. Thats what happened to me and then I had 4 elites just running around coming after me and i could hear the grunts coming from that hallway. I think im screwed and will have to restart the mission (again).
I felt the same at first, but I found that I could actually jump down and rocket the two console elites after slicing the first jetpack elite, then go back up, and the second jetpack elite would still come upstairs to get sliced by me. But this was the hardest part of the mission on my run lol.
And I thought Sword Base was bad 😑 The elites are not staying long enough to rocket them, they always seem to move before I can get down there (eventually got lucky with rng, had to do some fancy footwork to kill the last 2) Having trouble getting in the pelican turret though? It wouldn't let me in and I died to a elite
Can confirm that as soon as you deal with the 3rd wave of space battle when the auto turrets come back online, you can simply fly behind and hide where SilverScorpion shows in the video and wait out the entirety of the fight. I came back from about an hour of errands and my game was paused because my controller turned off, but I unpaused and was able to dock the Sabre and proceed through to the next section of the mission. Considering I made the mistake of playing LASO OUTSIDE of the LASO playlist, I am happy to know that this god awful section can indeed be skipped. Additionally the top of the covenant cruiser where you land to continue the mission has enough space for you to fly the Sabre and park it similar to the previous section. Takes a while but it will indeed reduce the difficulty of the section, just make sure to destroy the engines on the cruiser first. It took me about an hour (I died a lot) to get past the space section but I can 100% guarantee that the auto turrets on the space station, and the savannah will take care of the enemies and you can hide. The corvette engines you will need to destroy. Thank you SilverScorpion.
In the end of this level, I just did the Get in the Pelican turret glitch since you are invulnerable. Jorge can deal with the enemies since he's invulnerable.
A lot of these tips helped out quite a bit. I was having a LOT of trouble getting past this part on Laso, but i just now no-deathed all the way into the corvette. Definitely kill as many banshees as possible, they are not infinatly respawning. Flying under the Corvette to kill all the banshees really thins enemy numbers. Killing the Seraphs which the Savannah is shooting at will often give you a seraph with no shield. Killing all the Seraphs prior to destroying the engines leaves you with very few enemies after. Definitely learn the method behind flipping your ship, it is not just a simple as flipping. Left stick DOWN + FLIP will make you end up higher than before and Left stick UP + FLIP will make you end up lower. This can become very useful if there is debris or ships near by which you would otherwise flip and crash into. I don't know if there are extra shields on Laso or something but the Phantoms and even the Corvette engines seem to have some kind of shield because long shot missiles will blow up before reaching the target. I kept finding myself having to be close to it. I dunno.
Hey Silver, just wondering if MCC reliably saves your progress after doing the save quit method when you turn off the Xbox? I’m halfway through the mission but would rather do the rest sometime else.
During the flying segment for the third wave with the phantoms and after you destroy the engines on the corvette you can fly in circles behind the base and through the rings on the corvette by where the engines are until your AI teammates kill everything. Takes awhile, but It’s extremely safe.
For the second part go down and shoot as many banshees as you can. Then aim to go back to the human ship. Flip, spin your ay there when getting shot at and eventually you'll make it. Then say on the outside side of it (the side not facing the enemy ship. I had no spawns the entire time after it shot the crap outta the first wave. I kept hiding the entire time as it rotates around the enemy ship. The enemy ship shoots at you so keep cover. Come out when you are at the back of the enemy ship and take out the engines. I did one by one and rotating with the ship. On the last one ships spawn just hide behind the ship the human ship will take them out. Might need to dodge a bit but stay on the outside of the human ship. It is crazy easy. So glad I did that. Hahaha Game on!
Honestly not had a problem with LASO and did the first few missions without a guide but I just cant complete the space battle on this one. My allies dont kill any enemy ships and I die in arouns 2-3 plasma shots. I cant fathom how to proceed here
I did this LASO three times and fucked up the savescum the first two times in the final room. Never give up fellas, boutta combined 5 hours total to beat this shit but it feels so good once you do
The space section of this level was designed by a sadist. I have beaten Halo 2, 3, ODST solo on legendary (2 with like 8 skulls on, including melee and displacement active), and this level actually made me wanna never play halo EVER again. Gravemind? Ha, hard, but managable. Cortana? not that bad. Coastal Highway? A fucking mess, but manageable. LNOS on legendary solo?? WHAT THE UNHOLY FUCK DID 343I DO TO THE SERAPHS.. I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING AIMBOT MY ASS FROM OVER 1000M (EVEN COUNTING THE GOD DAMNED JACKALS FROM H2) LIKE THIS.
My lado run has been a combination of blind luck, recklessness abandon, and skill. I literally just got fed up with the general in the bridge and went for an assassination and somehow survived.
If you stick close enough to the bottom of the carrier enemies will ignore you. Then just fly out, quick blast an engine and fly back under. Hope this helps!
What I did for that one general elite in the corvette was I grabbed an energy sword from one of the crates and quickly him him a few times with the sword until he died (which was very nerve-wracking btw)
It's way worse on MCC than the OG port. For some reason, the space vehicles are FAR more aggressive against you and target the player far more often than OG port.
Yeah I done a regular legendary walk through and was constantly dying all the time on the space part. 343 definitely made it harder. Now doing laso I knew I had to hide. I didnt die through out the whole fight
Just an FYI, you need to help with the first two waves or else all your saber AI's will die and you won't be able to move on unless you can kill all the remaining enemies. Once Station 9 has their guns back, then you should be good to hide. Was gonna hide in the pelican turret cause I didn't wanna deal with this ending but it already disappeared. Almost 2 hours on the last room.
At around 28:00 when he starts moving the crates around with the concussion rifle, be careful. If you shoot a crate at the right angle, it'll start flying around violently and can splatter you lol
That pretty thing in space is a nebula. Also it really sucks that they made it so Blind is required to be on for LASO. I haven't tried it without Blind because that would possibly be a huge waste of time. I just know in the 360 Reach, Blind was not a skull that was needed for LASO. It was always disabled.
Got 4 hours in, made it to the defense section at the end. Died, quit and resumed like normal. Must of taken slightly too long, Resuming restarted the level. So i guess i will try this again tomorrow.
Co op? Thats why. Also a huge tip is as soon as you spawn into the Corvette part, dive down to get a good view on the underside of the corvette. You can kill all the banshees when they are docked
im getting reset all the time to the beginning of the mission even with the save/quit trick. it feels like its because of loading the same checkpoint over and over again. did 343 kinda fixed this trick? it wasn't a problem for me until now because long night of bullshit sucks ass!
The best way I found to deal with the Phantoms was to use the gun rather than the missiles. You can blast them from way further away and be much safer for it.
Got to the last 4 elites of this mission... turret despawned at start of fight... and for some reason the ai have stopped dodging the needdler 99% of the tims which makes it impossible to assassinate. And also they seem to just forget george exists randomly so i get chased helplessly by a concussion rifle and dual wielding invincible elite with no assassination hitbox ***edit it took me 57 min just to kill those last 4 elites .... it seemed like at somepoint the game overloaded despawning some props and elements like the turret ans such, which also must of had some effect on how ai behaves.... Ill see you tommorow for exodus... welp
I feel like the Sabre section of this mission was a good concept that they executed very well. It is very fun to play on a playthrough on any difficulty but I feel like they forgot about LASO when designing it. Not being able to lock-on, needing to lead your shots with out a guide, even temporarily turning black eye off are all proof of this.
Beat this level in about 3 hours through your tutorial. This was really fun! I would recommend using the strategy posted here by someone else where in the space section, instead of hiding behind the Savannah circle around in the Phantom launching area. The angle is too steep for Seraphs to shoot at you for too long and none of the turrets will see you. On PC, it seems like the enemy ships will shoot at you far more often, so sitting out as many battles as possible is ideal. Don't worry though, because if you do die you will get plenty of checkpoints. Just use the trick he suggested to bypass the Iron skull.
Pretty difficult, if not impossible, to kill the Elites with the Pelican turret at the end. It's really satisfying when you're able to assassinate each Elite though.

yes! I beat this section by just barely peeking out of anchor 9 and missling them from afar. It will take longer but MUCH more consistent
You can also just hide and do something else they blow up no matter what cus anti softlock
While the phantoms are moving you lead those missiles just a bit.
I was gonna mention the same thing for sure, you don't actually need to lock onto the phantoms to eliminate them good eye keeping out for people!

It's amazing what a difference your advice regarding an artificial reticle makes. LASO feels much more daunting without one.
Thanks for doing these, man. Just finished this one in the playlist and I'm waiting for your next vid to do my least favorite mission, Exodus. Keep it up!
Exodus took me and a dude 2 ish hours good luck!
@@usmanahmed6927 Thanks to his guide I did it solo in 45 min, thats why I'm waiting for his stuff to come out 😅
@@sonidavid1 yeah best to wait lol im on package should be done soon ha
Only took me 1hr and 40 min with these stars, Awesome guide, loved it, made it less painful!
oh thank goodness seraphs get their shields back
I dont think the mission would be possible if they didnt not conventionally anyway .
I think you meant Sabres
I just love how the checkpoint put me when I'm spiraling out of control and going to die at the section where you're supposed to blow up the engines of the Covenant ship.
Damn I love this game.
So following my comment a few minutes ago, I just completed all the space segments with no deaths. From the seraph and banshee section through to the phantom section, I just hid behind anchor 9 for around ten minutes. The corvette part was then really manageable. Pleasantly surprised with how easy this was following my legendary solo play through. Thanks 🙏🏻
I dread seeing the video length of your next part being 40+ minutes
I miss the 5 minutes of nightfall so much
I was dreading this level but with your strats it was easier for me because all I did was hide like a coward.
That happened to me on Cairo Station at the very end of the mission and Truth and Reconciliation lol, so don't feel bad.
Ik that feel bro, instead of 2 i had to kill 4 rangers, because of this idiot
Love how the one time i need the pelican turret to work it just doesn't. Go back on easy and it works no problem. Fantastic.
the pelican turret was destroyed before I could even touch it. this game loves raking me over the coals. i had to hide under the platforms for the first 2 elites and wait for them to fall off from throwing grenades at jorge to assassinate them, then hid in the room leading to the bridge and waited to keep assassinating the last 4 elites as they targeted jorge. mission time was over 2 hours
@@red5robb1 the worst one were infinity by far midnight too
The grunts that aren’t supposed to move, in fact do move and nothing works to take them out so far 😂
Wow. These SOLO LASOs are just chock full of genius.
In the space portion you can head straight down to the level boundary and the vehicles will despawn.
Nacho159 Didn't work for me. Do you have to do it before the Seraphs spawn in?
The button, to show your weapon on PC is TAB by default.
-at 28:38 for some reason i ended up with 3 marines. If that happend to you don't worry kill all of them, there will be no consequences even though the 3rd one will turn hostile towards you.
-The general takes more than 2 hits with the sword be aware! (mabey 3 to 4 hits), I found the aggressive approach is doable and better than keep reloading to get the stealth kills
-Using the plasma rifle instead of the plasma pistol helped me alot thanks for the commints
-Be aware, at 43:35 this room has a kill zone timer! don't stay there for long time.
Thank you silver, Perfect guide as always!
I think you meant consequences?
@IckySpartan correct my friend, i will edit it
Reach LASO was the best weekly challenges back on 360 first LASO I attempted and completed MCC comes out and nearly got them H1 and H2 done so plain sailing now
Welp just lost all my progress on the bridge because I'm a caveman and didn't press escape in time when I died. Kill me
I did that too man. I don't even wanna try it again haha
F
I don’t know what went wrong but elites and grunts would simply hop over the crates i placed so getting back to the hangar was a nightmare
In the sabre part with the phantoms. I didnt kill them fast enough and they left. So even if you cant peak out much they do leave in about 5 mins.
Call me a noob but this took me 5 hours.
the space combat part took me a long ass time too
@@Ghanemq8 Space combat only took me about an hour.
It was the main room with the elites who had focus rifles that costed me the most time.
Aye of Reach not quite 5 hours but I definitely had the most trouble with this misson
Managed to do it on 3plr co-op in 90min. All pretty manageable with Silvers help.
Most of it wasn't that bad, but the hallways going between the hanger and the ship refuel button took me ~6-7 hours round trip >.
I can't imagine the patience it takes to figure all of this stuff out yourself.
most of the skips are a result of community effort, silver didnt figure out all this stuff out lel
I am never ever ever doing this mission on legendary ever. I just completed this
In the refueling room: My first time there was 1 Grunt. the second run, 1 as well. But after I died, saved and quit, there were none. Made it super simple to smack the invisible ones first and the General last. Though when you smack him, do a full assassination. I often smacked him only to have him turn around :/
Long story short, the RNG isn't permanent. Milk it for what its worth.
I killed everyone in the Corvette control room of sorts, and I was so gassed, I pressed the button. Sadly, I looked at Silver's video afterwards, so I didn't set the boxes. I'm regretting this decision as one of the worst I've made
goin down bobbing for apples , goin up and spitting them up on those pvssyz giving a quick polish, quick spit shine. stretching them out wide
Bro you're so amazingly good man. I'm shocked you don't have more subs. I love your content and thanks a lot!
And I thought Sword Base was bad 😑
The elites are not staying long enough to rocket them, they always seem to move before I can get down there (eventually got lucky with rng, had to do some fancy footwork to kill the last 2)
Having trouble getting in the pelican turret though?
Thanks so much for this guide.
Getting to the ship refuel button room and back on LASO was driving me mad, your blocking strategies were perfect.
Not sure about xbox but on pc I've quit and came back the next day. All my progress was saved up to my last checkpoint.
Authentic Andrew Great, thanks for the reply 😁
During the flying segment for the third wave with the phantoms and after you destroy the engines on the corvette you can fly in circles behind the base and through the rings on the corvette by where the engines are until your AI teammates kill everything. Takes awhile, but It’s extremely safe.
Thank you Silver. These videos are a lifesaver!
How are you getting shot in space so little… I am getting absolutely drained the second I get shot. Not even playin all skulls on just legendary.
I cant fathom how to proceed here
Save/quit saves your time. If you just dashboard quit your time starts at your last checkpoint.
I fucking love these videos man, best sub in a while
I did this LASO three times and fucked up the savescum the first two times in the final room.
Same feeling bro. This space section is one of the shittiest in all Halo franchise, if not the #1.
My lado run has been a combination of blind luck, recklessness abandon, and skill. I literally just got fed up with the general in the bridge and went for an assassination and somehow survived.
Early on in the mission, you get a drop shield. Would that be useful to have over sprint?
I found that staying under the ship (right below where the banshees come out) deflects fire from the seraphs.
I'd rather eat my hands than play this section ever again, whole sabre section is absolute bullshit. Giving up on Laso because of this
It's way worse on MCC than the OG port.
If you're on PC, use your GPU software to cap your frames to 30 fps during the space part. Trust me, it's the easiest part of the game if you do it.
This saved me. The damage is based on the fps and I was getting toasted in my LASO runs
I don't know what I did, but I got the unlucky spawn of three focus rifle rangers in the hangar bay, boy was that room ever fun!
An hour and a half of game time, but I finally got it. The flying part was fine, just the elites were terrible.
Nah, was playing solo and i know how the banshee spawn killing. Finished campaign since then.
im getting reset all the time to the beginning of the mission even with the save/quit trick. it feels like its because of loading the same checkpoint over and over again. did 343 kinda fixed this trick? it wasn't a problem for me until now because long night of bullshit sucks ass!
took 2 hours but i did it. thanks
Sometimes leaving and resuming doesn’t work
was about to finish the space section and got splattered by a teammate :))))) was too dumbfounded to save and quit
And also they seem to just forget george exists randomly so i get chased helplessly by a concussion rifle and dual wielding invincible elite with no assassination hitbox
***edit it took me 57 min just to kill those last 4 elites .... it seemed like at somepoint the game overloaded despawning some props and elements like the turret ans such, which also must of had some effect on how ai behaves....
Ill see you tommorow for exodus... welp
Ironically, Halo reach did the space flight part of the mission way better than even some flight or space sim games. I kinda wish it had more.
I find using Blu Tac otherwise known as rubber paste on my TV and trace the sniper reticle in a almost perfect circle. Like this ⭕️ and go from there.
Any tips for accuracy with blind on? Like do you have something stuck on your screen?
He mentioned in the first Laso episode that he stuck a piece of scotch tape on his TV where the targeting reticle is.
@@Dragoncurse4 ahhh
@@Raygeing What i do is grab a sticky note, boot up nightfall. cut out a circle the same size as the sniper reticle out of the sticky strip and place it over the reticle. helps alot.
@@Drakefance5 I'll give it a go, can handle the other skulls fine but Blind is just the worst😅
I absolutely hate this.
My saves were being weird. I reloaded into the last room of winter contingency, killed the two zealots pressed the button and magically finished long night of solace.
Around 21:50 A second I enter the room elite with focus rifle kills me any tips on how to bypass that?
I am so confused I killed them all in the first part. All the friendly ships are still there and nothing comes up that I’m supposed to dock anywhere.
I made a tape crosshairs to put on the screen. Still haven’t beat the dirt mission though.
Of course I get the double grunt spawn in the control room. Literally the only time I've ever gotten that setup is when I'm running this mission in LASO.
Great guide!
