Tip for anyone scared of this happening - if you have a bag that goes over your shoulder/body, wear it under your jacket, yet it may be uncomfortable but it's better than being mugged. also have the bag backward, so the zip is facing forward and closer to you so that even if someone could get to the bag, you'd feel them tugging!

I did this the whole time in London 2 years ago and honestly, it wasn't that uncomfortable. I felt safe knowing only I had access to my bag and I think I had it under two coats

this legit happened to me in ibiza!! THEY WERE VILE TO ME AND MY MUM!! they put stupid bracelets on us and said they were blessing us but then demanded money!!! stay safe girlies❤❤

Willow Nelson the same happened to me in Rome A man came up to me and my family and gave us bracelets necklaces and other things and we just said we have to go but he held my dad back and demanded money after saying the presents were gifts my dad just said no and walked away the man was shouting and it really scared me xxx
Some women in Seville stopped us and grabbed my mum and my hands and started palm reading. They then followed and harassed is and my mum had to give them money just to get them to leave us alone 😒
When I was in Paris a lady asked me to sign a petition for deaf people so I did as I had no idea about this kind of thing and then she started shouting demanding money, Paris is so bad for this kind of thing!
I went to paris in september with my boyfriend and this happened to us also! Its disgusting they swamp you and i agree its so scary!! I had a women grab my hand and start trying to pull my ring off before my boyfriend pushed her away and we also too had to run off! Such a shame they ruin such an amazing city!! :(

i was in paris with my school, we got stuck in a riot and everyone was drunk and these men grabbed a crewbar and took he cases out my teachers had to scream and shout and fight and we lost 6 cases in paris, the saddest thing is somebody lost something from their dad who had passed away i’m honestly traumatised it was so scary
i'm going to paris next year with my school and we're going to Disneyland and up the Eiffel tower. watching you go there makes me so excited :)

I did that with my school about 5 years ago and people selling mini Eiffel Towers got in our coach. Scariest thing of my life since they had been following us all day as well as pickpocketing

I've been to Paris 3 times now and the clipboard thing is so common in all the touristy areas. They always travel in groups so as soon as you start signing it the others will pick pocket you. Or if not they demand money off of you! The best thing to do is say no firmly and walk off! Seen it happen too many times. They probably took advantage as you're both young x

I went to Paris a year ago and the exact same thing happened me and my family. My mum was targets the most and lost her purse in the process! Her bank cards and money where taken... it was the last day of our holiday and put a real downer on the whole trip so I’m happy that you managed to go back out and have fun!! France and Spain are really bad for pit pockets, it's never happened to me when on holiday but I know people who have experienced, someone opened my bag in Glasgow but thankfully didn't get anything 😑, hope your both ok 💕
A good thing to do so that you properly know is to attach a bell to your bag so that you know if someone is trying to rob you.My Mum did this when we went to London and it was really helpful.Glad that you and Ana are ok tho xx

I think it just depends on where you go in Paris. I went around Saint German and montmarche mostly and admired the Eiffel Tower from afar because it’s kinda overrated. Go to a traditional French restaurant and actually experience French food rather than just getting food you could get in the uk. Can recommend La Petite Chaise it Brasserie Lip in Saint Germain des Prés

Hey! I'm from France, i do not live in Paris but my family does and I can tell you that you had a very bad experience, but please do not generalize it. It's not like this in every places. Paris is the capital, a very luxurious city, rich as well, with rich people who lives there, many tourists... it's kind of "normal" that things like this happens (sorry to say that because it's not normal at all, it doesn't have to be, but it's the way our society is right now). I'm very sorry that happened to you, and I understand how scary it is, but be careful with generlizing things !
Yes, she says that pickpocketing happens in England too, but "not like that". Actually I think, it's just an experience that can happen everywhere in every moment and they were stuck in the wrong place at the wrong moment !

i had a woman give me a book in Glasgow once and she said it was free but i didnt want it and kept declining to take it but she put it in my bag anyway so i walked away and she followed me for ages demanding money off of me saying it was £20 i owed her for the silly book i didnt even want. people are such scumbags!! :O but your time in paris looks amazing x

The survey thing happened to me so many times in Paris too, it's so scary. They tried to ask for money donations off me and my friend as well so I'd deffo say be careful. I hope it didn't ruin your whole Paris experience and that you're ok :)
Omg I had a back pack in Nice in France on a train to Monaco and when the train came it was really busy and everyone was pushing behind me and I’m quite short because I was 12 and I turned round and my bag was empty they took my purse and ran into another carriage and after I started crying but like Saff and Anna said it all happened so quick and I had no time to react but I’m just surprised no benhind them tried to tell me like if that was in England so many people would’ve tried to tell me 😭😭😭
