HEY y'all ❤ I will be praying for your elbow Kevin 🙏 I enjoyed the video you did a good job on the sheep 🐑🐑🐑. I know they are cooler. Love y'all and God bless you and your family and all the animals and feather's 💕💕💕💕
If you bag the fiber you can find someone that would love to have it. Saying a prayer for your arm to heal quickly. Take care. Love your family and farm. God bless
What a beautiful coat on the sheep! I watch TH-camr, Sheepishly Me, and she has all her sheep sheered and she bags it, and has it processed into yarn(?) and sells products made from the sheeps’ wool.
Hand spinners are always looking for fresh fleece (sheeps wool, alpaca, llama, or angora goats for mohair) to spin into yarn for weaving, knitting, crochet or to felt for fabric. Sheeps wool is also used to mulch under plants, i.e. shrubs or trees to deter weed growth.
I would cut down on the number of sheep and then hire someone to shear. Maybe now that the surgery is behind y’all you will have more time to tackle some of those projects to help clean up the farm and tidy up some of the ground work. Oops! Said that then I heard about your tennis elbow! Just don’t hurt yourself and get down with both arms! We all have something don’t we!! For me it’s getting better from grief over losing my husband of 39 yrs of marriage with brain cancer. It’s been five years! I’m finally getting to the point where I don’t want to cry anymore. I’m thankful for the years God gave us together. God bless your family and farm!
You did a great job. I’ve been wanting to do that with my huskadoodle, but he was having none of the clippers.10 Acre Woods has some good videos on cleaning the wool, uses and even spinning it. Cut up it makes excellent stuffing for pillows and supposed to be really healthy for sleep. It’s naturally flame retardant. Felted together in sheets lightly it’s great quilt batting. The place I bought my clippings and batting from out of Minnesota process from local small herds. There’s another in Montana so you might have somewhere local in Arkansas you could sell the wool to. Local quilt shops may know.
A sheaering table would be helpful on your back...something with a slope...with a head tie that can hold a grain bucket...available online for under $200 a hydraulic lift for $700ish....something to look at...❤
Thanks for watching. This spray is a cooling spray, lubricant, and cleaner so takes care of cooling the blades and lubricating them. We have oil also, but since the spray handles it all we don’t have to use the oil unless we are out of spray.
Hi there 😊 ! You'll probably get lots of comments, but the fiber from the sheep Alpacas and Lamas is very useful for making all kinds of different things. If it's a good grade You could even sell it. I love your Family. And again thank you for letting us be a part of your Farm Family!! The fiber can be used for shawls, gloves, Sweaters etc. My prayers are always with you but I'll say some extra ones for your Arm Aand continued success fir Kimberly's head.
Another great video! Please be careful with your arm, I hurt my shoulder and didn’t take care of it until it was too late, 3 surgeries and a total reverse shoulder replacement, finally fixed it. Your think we would know better, lol. Love you guys.
I have chronic tennis elbow in both elbows. It has been awhile since I have had an injection in them. Usually around holidays they flare up from all the baking I do. Make sure you ice it at night.
Arms family has a video of their alpacas being shirred by a vet lady. She had a set up that pretty much immobilized the animal with two sets of ropes, one for the front legs and one for the back ones, if I remember correctly.
I had tennis elbow and golfers elbow several years ago in the same elbow at the same time. I got steroid shots in both sides of the elbow the same day. They really helped me. I hope your arm feels better. Prayers for healing for both of you. ❤️💕
I hade surgery for golfers elbow even though I never played golf. I think it was from playing frisbee with my younger brother. I hade my second surgery on my left shoulder I have MDI. It took 4 anchors to stabilize my shoulder and I had a labrum tear. Hope your shoulder feels better soon.
Those sheep are still just the cutest after you sheared them. Really enjoyed your video. Kevin, hope and pray your arm is better soon. Love seeing your animals! Kimberly, you're still in my prayers. Love y'all and God Bless!❤
I have discovered from a chicken nutritionalist....corn increases body temperature...better to continue feeding layer pellets or seed even if you don't want eggs...don't intervene with hens natural laying process...
I just got a cortisone shot in right and then left groin nerve for hip issues...it hurt horrible during and after for 2 days but after that I feel great...PRAYING FOR YOU HEALING KIDDO
Kevin I hope your arm feels better soon. Just make sure you follow doctor's instructions. I had steroid shots in my knees last year, the doctor thinks I had an allergic reaction because both of my knees swelled up as big as football's and I was even swollen up into my hips. Never again. He said "oh this will buy you some time." When I asked what he meant he said I needed both knees replaced and my right hip. He told me it was all the heavy lifting and farm work I did in my teen's. I grew up being told "work hard it will pay off!" What I wasn't told is women's bodies aren't made to lift bails of hay with two hooks, load into a pickup truck and on a trailer every summer. My back , knees, shoulders and elbows sure are paying the price. Please make sure you lift properly also. I'm sure you know that, but we often don't think what we're doing and just rush through it. Thank you for sharing your farm. Much love from our family to your family 💞
IF YOU SET THEM ON THEIR BOTTOM THEY WILL NOT MOVE AROUND ON YOU. THAT WAY YOU MOVE THEM TO GET TO PARTS THAT NEED SHAVING. SHEEP ARE THE EASIEST TO CUT. GO WATCH DALSCONE FARM VIDEOS THEY DO A LOT OF SHEEP.
Too bad watching the prows shearing sheep on youtube doesn't give you the skills. The most I have ever done is shearing our dogs, this looks a hole bunch more complicated. Don't know if they are available but ceramic blades lasted so much longer and they stay cooler too.
Amazing job shearing
Thank you!
The undercoat color is so gorgeous, and grown out it is so more reddish on my computer. Those sheep are so pretty.
Yes they are beautiful!
Great video. I know the sheep are happy to be cooler. Hope your arm is better soon Kevin.
Thanks so much!!
Your animals look amazing and beautiful. I hope you feel better soon
Thank you so much!
Ill bet the sheep feel better!
Great job and he’s looking so good ❤
Thank you!

Prayers for you both.❤

Makes good dog beddi ng for dog houses in the winter
There are TH-cam videos on how to process that wool. Any knitter would love to have that.
Oh no, sorry to hear about your elbow Kevin! Hope you continue to get pain relief! Had you injured that elbow previously?
He was diagnosed with tennis elbow a few months ago, but that was the first time. It was just through continual repetitive motion.
What a beautiful coat on the sheep! I watch TH-camr, Sheepishly Me, and she has all her sheep sheered and she bags it, and has it processed into yarn(?) and sells products made from the sheeps’ wool.

You could use the wool for dog bedding in the winter
Hi everyone.
Hello there!
You are braver than us. You’re doing a good job.
Thanks! It’s definitely not the easiest job!
❤❤❤❤❤

Sheeps wool is also used to mulch under plants, i.e. shrubs or trees to deter weed growth.
So sheep shears…,they usually flip them on their back and start from the abdomen up the sides. Usually they take the flees off in one piece.
Lookinh good
Thank you!
Good job shearing kiddo....grateful technique..head to tail...spine down the sides towards belly....
Thanks!
In time, God heals
You are definitely correct!
You can also dip the blades in a bowl of ice water
Hey guys! Keep up the good work.
Thanks! Will do!
You should get one of the elbow braces. walmart has them and they help a lot. And will help from hurting it worse and even making it better.
Y’all need a wider comb on your blade. You are doing great.
I would cut down on the number of sheep and then hire someone to shear. Maybe now that the surgery is behind y’all you will have more time to tackle some of those projects to help clean up the farm and tidy up some of the ground work.

Hello from Kansas 😊
Hello there!
Brandon does a better job than the pros.
It's good to hold the animal's skin back with your other hand to prevent cuts and nicks, especially where the joints are.
You did a great job. I’ve been wanting to do that with my huskadoodle, but he was having none of the clippers.10 Acre Woods has some good videos on cleaning the wool, uses and even spinning it. Maybe something for the future!
It's good that your using a cooling spray but you should also use an oil on the blades to while in the process of sheering him. Oil is a must have.
Thanks for watching. This spray is a cooling spray, lubricant, and cleaner so takes care of cooling the blades and lubricating them. We have oil also, but since the spray handles it all we don’t have to use the oil unless we are out of spray.

Thank you! Will do!
That looks like hard work and to be doing it in the heatyou did good
Thank you!

I have chronic tennis elbow in both elbows. It has been awhile since I have had an injection in them. Usually around holidays they flare up from all the baking I do. Make sure you ice it at night.
Enjoying the content Gys😊
You did a good job it will take practice and maybe watching a few shearing videos to limit the stress on the sheep.
Yes, that is our goal

Hello Growns family Farm.
Hi there!
You could sell it to people that do demonstrations with spinning wheel or finger weaving and sell crafts at historic events.
🙋♂️👍❤️🙏😊
If you sit him on his bottom he will become very still and you can manipulate his position from side to side to shear him. Just a suggestion
This is like when I have to groom my cocker spaniels! Their fur is like wool too.
I hope your arm gets better. Be blessed!
Thank you!
Hi Kevin & Kimberly, Thanks for the update
Thanks for watching!
Those sheep are still just the cutest after you sheared them. Really enjoyed your video. Kevin, hope and pray your arm is better soon. Love seeing your animals! Kimberly, you're still in my prayers. Love y'all and God Bless!❤

Hi Kevin, You are doing a good job with that sheep 🐑
That war wouldn’t even have to be died. It is such a pretty color. Kevin, you need to make that into yarn so it can be a vest.
Thank you!
You are welcome kevin
Bless his / her ❤️
Might be easier if you seat sheep on his tail like he is sitting, they stay still that way 2:24
I just got a cortisone shot in right and then left groin nerve for hip issues...it hurt horrible during and after for 2 days but after that I feel great...PRAYING FOR YOU HEALING KIDDO
Thank you so very much!
Ive seen some shearers grab them tip them back on their butts where they lean into your legs so you can get to their under bellies.
Kevin I hope your arm feels better soon. Just make sure you follow doctor's instructions. Thank you so much for the love and support!
The sheep shearer usually start at the bottom of the sheep, Here is a video to help you next time:
th-cam.com/video/aikHdX_sFtc/w-d-xo.html
GOAT WEED is Valuable for attracting DOVE during the season..
😂😂
If they do injections wrong it hurts but when done right they don’t.
Thankfully this one did not hurt.
They hold heat in their flanks
I’m going to call the next time I need a haircut
😂
Have you heard about goats thar shredded there on hair in the summer and grow back in the winter
Yes. That might be something we look at in the future. Thanks for watching!
Ooh I had steroid injection in my left knee. It was agonizing experience. I don't ever want to repeat that.
Will sheep grow their wool back by winter?
Yes they will. It’s crazy how fast it grows!
What is the purpose of the sheep? Milk, meat, wool?
These are part of our breeding program.
Kevin does better than the pros also.
Thank you!

Do they shears that aren’t so noisy? Just wondering….
Not sure about that.

They definitely seem to be. Thank you so much for the kind words and for watching!
