I remember being 10 and ditching school to see this film. I had a grin as big as the Cheshire cat when the music and title popped up. Great memory❤️

This movie didn't do well with critics. The sequel had even worse reviews. But I LOVE both movies and I always will.
The critics probably didn't find these two movies "sufficiently realistic" I suppose.

Nah; it was mostly the main actress' inability to act, and the attempt by the movie to form some kind of political drama out of a world that's supposed to be inherently chaotic and nonsensical.

No, it's a film score, the music is written to the pictue (usually). Alice's Theme (the melody) is threaded throughout the score, the longest version of it is the End Credits track called "Alice's Theme". Search for that.
