Reverb and Delay are ambient effects. Imagine a perfect sound played in a hall or a cave: you have a finished sound and after it's modified by the ambient. For this reason (to simulate a real hall) usually they are to be positioned at the end of chain, after all pedals. In your case i suggest you to put the reverb between amp and metal muff... if you have a send/return in your amp then the best thing to do is to put it there (between amp and cabinet).
Great pedal. Another good one is TC electronics hall of fame reverb. It has like 10 settings so you can really dial in on the sound you're looking for.
People are still making a version of it. if I understand correct, most newer spring reverb pedals are based on the same 'module'. The creator of the module has went into business for themselves now with their own product. I think it's called the Wet Reverb or something similar.
this little guy sounds great, but Im still getting the Electro Harmonix Cathedral!!! ohhhyaaaa hurry up PGS, Im waiting for you guys to get it in stock!!
Hey Hey my my....thisreverb pedal is quite fly....everything in the mixture, also meets the eye....hey hey my my...out of the box, into my amp.....hey hey my my
@ProGuitarShopDemos perhaps an effects loop may be benificial to see how much the tone is coloured and further inform our purchases, keep up the great demos!
I'd love a demo of the Holy Grail Plus. I'm interested in hearing if it do the same sounds as the original, but with more flexibility. I love the Hall setting.
@darwinny90 reverb pedals are almost always digital. the only form of analog verb contains physical springs (like found in an amp). this isn't found in pedals except for the Danelectro Spring King and one other more-epensieve one which i forget.
I just bought this yesterday, the Flerb (Flanger/Reverb) sucks ass, but the hall and spring verbs sound great if you keep it low. I am happy with the pedal. For a pedal that was made in NYC, you can't beat the price
The Hardwire Supernatural is our top choice for warm and full spring reverb. The Boss has a splashing tone that is of the brighter variety. Thanks, PGS
Hi Andy loved the review. The pedal sounds like a real fender spring reverb. What's that stuff you're playin' at 5:16? It makes the pedal sound even better.
I got this yesterday, and was considering getting the Holly Grail Plus yesterday and wondering if I should replace the Nano after I tried it. But this is great
Hi! I have the Holy grail plus! It has a good spring, but it demands too much power (mAmp). I can't plug it in my pedalboard. Can you tell me how much mAmp this nano grail needs? thanks!
idk if you've gotten an answer to this, but honestly it would probably sound pretty bad not in the loop. Sometimes it works but you're better off not making the investment unless you don't mind the risk.
@johnfright you can get some neat sounds putting it around 2 o'clock, but you could probably get similar effect with a flanger. i think it sounds more watery though. limited use for it though.
is there a decent NATURAL sounding, fairly cheap reverb for a light reverb, just enough for a little depth? Not an echo, not a delay, not some super digital wonderpedal, just a plain ass reverb?maybe the danelectro spring king?
Andy, what was that second song you played, that sounds way familiar but I can't get a handle on it...nice job on Hey Hey My My by the way, one of my absolute favorite Neil Young songs of ALL time!
this or the Malekko spring chicken? I plan on using reverb a lot in my playing so i consider it a priority. That said, i am very budget conscious and would want to spend the least amount possible, but still get a beautiful verb. Any suggestions?
i was just about to contact proguitarshop about how i could get that Hank Marvin sound and i stumble across this :D if there is anything better that you would recommend please let me know.
yeah sounds way sweeter, but not as useable, they should add some more effects to the maleko tho, like just hall and spring settings and maybe like something cool theyd come up with
I have an orange tiny terror and it doesn't have an effects loop, how will a reverb pedal like this sounds when placed in front of the amp at the end of the signal chain? Thanks!
Well for me i would first consider getting a better tube amp like a fender twin reverb or simply a deluxe reverb... that's if you are going for clean tones with a great spring reverb... i myself, i have a fender hot rod deluxe III also because of Andy playing it for me :). Now that you have a better tube amp it should have a build in reverb which is just magnificent :)) plus you get a new and better speaker as well :D
I own this pedal and can honestly say that it's great!... The only drawback for me and it is a big drawback.... is that flerb setting is pointless! I just wish there was a modulated setting instead of the flerb!!!!!
This. because it's smaller and do what he does better without hundreds of mods. Hall of fame just make a soup of you'r sound, and nothing else. Actually, right now i'm thinking of Holy Grail vs Strymon Flint. and to me Grail sounds more open and it's cheaper, and i can put tremolo before phaser, and Reverb after delay.
Had to plug it into a reverb amp eh? Why not try it on a solid state amp and see what it sounds like. I bet its hallow and thin. Just give me a good tube reverb amp and i am set.
Holy Grail! it really is the best reverb on the market! don't make a mistake! :)

Exactly my setup. Works perfectly well for me, this pedals one of the few to own it's spot on my pedalboard and pretty much stays on.
Apache sounded so good

what a lush sounding verb
this little guy sounds great, but Im still getting the Electro Harmonix Cathedral!!! ohhhyaaaa
hurry up PGS, Im waiting for you guys to get it in stock!!

HEY HEY, MY MY!! Get outta the blue, fade into the black(8)
God, I loved the intro to this vid Andy (Y)
Neil Young is a prime example. Another prime example is the large amount of psychedelic blues and surf bands nowadays.
I'd love a demo of the Holy Grail Plus. I'm interested in hearing if it do the same sounds as the original, but with more flexibility. I love the Hall setting.
this is actually a really cool pedal
@darwinny90 reverb pedals are almost always digital. the only form of analog verb contains physical springs (like found in an amp). this isn't found in pedals except for the Danelectro Spring King and one other more-epensieve one which i forget.
damn that nails Fender's spring reverb!!
I just bought this yesterday, the Flerb (Flanger/Reverb) sucks ass, but the hall and spring verbs sound great if you keep it low. I am happy with the pedal. For a pedal that was made in NYC, you can't beat the price

It's been up less than an hour...come back when TH-cam is done with their processing
This or TC Hall of Fame?
TC Hall of Fame IMO. I like the Holy Grail, it has a better spring sound.
Hi Andy loved the review. The pedal sounds like a real fender spring reverb. What's that stuff you're playin' at 5:16? It makes the pedal sound even better.
The spring mode sounds sooo good! I can't wait to get this pedal.
Or is it better to get the Holy Grail Plus?
I got this yesterday, and was considering getting the Holly Grail Plus yesterday and wondering if I should replace the Nano after I tried it. But this is great
Hi!
I have the Holy grail plus! It has a good spring, but it demands too much power (mAmp). I can't plug it in my pedalboard.
Can you tell me how much mAmp this nano grail needs?
thanks!
it doesn't cut your amps master volume, it cuts your guitar volume signal when the mix knob is past 12 o'clock
idk if you've gotten an answer to this, but honestly it would probably sound pretty bad not in the loop. Sometimes it works but you're better off not making the investment unless you don't mind the risk.

My pedal order goes: Amp->Metal Muff->TS9->Cry Baby->EVH Phase 90->TU-2 tuner->Guitar. where should I put the Holy Grail Reverb?? thanks!
Wah, ovtavio, chorus, holy grail now theres a tone!!
You do that, yes.
is there a decent NATURAL sounding, fairly cheap reverb for a light reverb, just enough for a little depth? Not an echo, not a delay, not some super digital wonderpedal, just a plain ass reverb?maybe the danelectro spring king?
5:12 Did anyone else see? O_o
Reverb last in line before Amp.
hehe, thanks, i think i´ll go for this one. sounds killer
It's ZZ Top, "A Fool for your Stockings" :-)
It's pretty nice, but there's still not much that can beat stock Fender verb. Except the limited edition Spring Chicken.
hell yeah for neil young
@steelykiss i don't know about that. I've been using the blues driver and compressor happily for a while.
Andy, what was that second song you played, that sounds way familiar but I can't get a handle on it...nice job on Hey Hey My My by the way, one of my absolute favorite Neil Young songs of ALL time!

Apache - The shadows
which is the song at the beginning of the Video? it is great!
does this still have the volume drop that the old one had?
Is it a true bypass pedal?
Have u added Drive? why is it distorting?
yeah sounds way sweeter, but not as useable, they should add some more effects to the maleko tho, like just hall and spring settings and maybe like something cool theyd come up with
Man what i'd give to have that plus right now. My old reverb just crapped out on me, do you like it?
wondering the same thing...except Holy Grail/Hall of Fame/Trinity!
NEIL YOUNG!!!
@tcinpa37 I've gotta agree about the flerb, if I wanted flanger in my reverb tone, I'd just add a real flanger to normal reverb.
APACHE!
this or the Boss RV-5, Need an advice on a great reverb for cleans and high gain solos
I have an orange tiny terror and it doesn't have an effects loop, how will a reverb pedal like this sounds when placed in front of the amp at the end of the signal chain? Thanks!
haha the "flerb that you probably already know and love"......?
what's the song at the ending?
is it plugged into the amp's effect loop in this vid? or str8 to the amp's input?
holy grail is the best reverb i ever played!
boss suxs
line6 suxs
digitech suxs!
Well for me i would first consider getting a better tube amp like a fender twin reverb or simply a deluxe reverb... that's if you are going for clean tones with a great spring reverb... i myself, i have a fender hot rod deluxe III also because of Andy playing it for me :). does this pedal have a battery slot??
anyone who owns this know if it has that massive volume drop that the original had?
Do you got a overdrive pedal before the reverb pedal
@abubacar malekko absolutely
Great vid and very clear. Thanks. But Flerb is a waste of sonic time.
I own this pedal and can honestly say that it's great!... The only drawback for me and it is a big drawback.... is that flerb setting is pointless! I just wish there was a modulated setting instead of the flerb!!!!!
maybe I just didn't catch it, but what guitar are you using in this video?
cheers
@karl198 NEIL YOUNG THE ORIGINAL GRUNGE MASTER!
This. because it's smaller and do what he does better without hundreds of mods. Hall of fame just make a soup of you'r sound, and nothing else. Actually, right now i'm thinking of Holy Grail vs Strymon Flint. and to me Grail sounds more open and it's cheaper, and i can put tremolo before phaser, and Reverb after delay.
whats the song at around 2:24 ish?
neil young hey hey my my i think
omg and apache yes yes!!
how did you record the demo? is it mono down the middle or what?
Had to plug it into a reverb amp eh? Why not try it on a solid state amp and see what it sounds like. I bet its hallow and thin. Just give me a good tube reverb amp and i am set.
@wilfredomiguelcastro Ya, the ds1 sounds good if you mod it. But my stock one sounds very shrill and treblelly. Needs the Ultra mod.
why do we have to endue 53 seconds of noodling before the demo starts?
agreed
Holy Grail or Hall Of Fame? That is the question....
In the B.O of Pulp Fiction, no ? I'm not sure...
Neil Young ! Great ;o)
tone at 5:40 = china grove
Originally be Jorgan Ingmann
is this pedal worthit?
13k viewer? Dang
Dude your using a reverb amp while using a reverb pedal? Lol
@monthy73 The Shadows - Apache
@Leonpolux Neil Young's into the black!! Neil rules check out his song danger bird
dammit im mad/dam mi timmad
LOL...You bet:)
Sounds great. Too bad about the name.
why? lol
first veiw!
I'd stay away from anything Boss unless you feel the need to support the economy of Taiwan and kill your tone in one fail swoop... :)
APACHE!
