The more jets on the wand the finer the water droplets coming out, mist. The two jet wand gives much better penetration and hammering of heavily soiled carpets with larger water droplets ( if the total gallons per minute rating is equivalent).
Most modern portables have a two inch vacuum hose hooking straight to the machine. A two inch pipe wand well give you the full power the portable delivers.
The only manufacturer of portables (USA) that use 2" port are Nautilus, Mytee, and Bane. There are plenty that use 2" plumbing like Sandia but taper to 1.5" connection port. Sandia, Century, Tennant/Nobles, EDIC, Hydramaster, TMI, Cleancraft, Karcher all are sold with 15-25' of 1.5" hose.
